Watch Break Free From The Corporate Prison, my latest video collaboration with Sustainable Human

  • I agree, Ozzie Maland. I had a hard time hearing the voice audio for both reasons you mentioned, especially the music. I think it would be better to lower the music’s volume.

That said, I only discovered Caitlin today, by reading her article on Lew Rockwell.com. Caitlin, I think you are brilliant and so enjoyed your incredibly beautiful writing.

Thank you so much for providing tools for changing how I’ve been programmed into my authentic self.

    • Great video. Great politics. One quibble. When the apparent businessman brings the homeless person sleeping on the street at 3:03 a sandwich it is obviously meat. Better that than neglected indifference. Still, animal agriculture is a very serious problem.

  • Nice Video. Habits and a place in society are powerful forces.

We need to take the money creation (printed funny money) and piles of inherited wealth away from these inhumane super rich. Need to toss capitalism in the trash heap, along with slavery and divine right and feudalism.

    • And replace them with what exactly?

  • OK, you drop out. Now what? How do you support yourself and your family? What is your next move?

Again, lots of emotionalism but bereft of any real solutions. I will ask again, what exactly is the proposed replacement system? *Caitlin has admitted to having communist sympathies so is the replacement going to be communism? No thanks and with afterburners!

    • I’m afraid to say that the replacement system for what we now have is catastrophe. A miracle is always possible. But I am not counting on it. I did what Caitlin is talking about 30 years ago. I am ready for the worst but striving for the best. I live very simply and try to be 100% honest. I don’t have the same level of comfort as most people but I learned to be content with that knowing that the way I live is in harmony (more or less) (I am not a saint) with the world. One thing I learned to accept is that you can’t change other people. You can only do what you feel is right. But catastrophe or not we will have to learn to live at a lower level of comfort. The earth can’t sustain the present level. Simple!

      • John, “One thing I learned to accept is that you can’t change other people.”

Exactly. This is probably one of the most important lessons I learned a long time ago too. It is a cornerstone of understanding and wisdom IMHO.

“…we will have to learn to live at a lower level of comfort. The earth can’t sustain the present level.”

Not being snarky but says who? This is the propaganda the elite want you to believe. Yes there are problems – serious ones – but I argue that the best way to solve them is through more individual freedom not larger, more powerful governments.

    • Yes – my thoughts exactly. Great video, but how practical is it to live outside the matrix? Certainly Communism is not the answer – it’s the antithesis to living free. The older I get the more anarchistic (?) I get.

  • Brilliant synopsis. Well done!

    One minor dissonance: ‘Greenhouse gases!!!!!’

Do you REALLY subscribe to the CO2 demon?

    Seriously?!

When it’s the lifeforce behind all our plant life????

I’ve never understood how so many people have bought into something so illogical!

    • Caroline, “I’ve never understood how so many people have bought into something so illogical!”

Because control freaks love anything that will help them control others.

    • Go outside and look for a tree that is not regarded by a suburbanite as a garden accessory to be removed when inconvenient, or by a farmer as a hindrance to broadacre cropping. Look at the destruction of forest and wildlife and the loss of 60% of the insects on the planet in the last 50 years. Look at the science, or stand in a greenhouse if you can’t understand it. What plants do you anticipate will use the CO2?
If you are as young as your photo suggests (and you are not a disinfo agent) you would not remember the mild summers, the butterflies, the wild places.
The climate has / is changing. Perhaps you are right and CO2 is a symptom and not a cause of the destruction wrought by the industrial treadmill, but if we don’t stop producing it, the planet will stop producing us.

      • Dequincy, “The climate has / is changing.”

        Always has. Always will.

“…if we don’t stop producing it, the planet will stop producing us.”

It is the left’s position that humans are bad for the planet anyways so what is the problem with humans going extinct from that POV?

        • “It is the left’s position that humans are bad for the planet anyways so what is the problem with humans going extinct from that POV?”
Ask a hunter why hunting deer helps to save the deer population from being wiped out. The answer should be obvious.
Humans are not necessarily bad for the planet. But any species left to reproduce, unchecked, while pillaging and polluting the land, water, and air is unsustainable. We (as a species) have not been able to show adequate restraint in the face of such obvious fact. It is fact that what comes out of every tail pipe of every gas powered car is toxic to breathe. It is also a fact that there are literally millions upon millions of these cars that are made to carry multiple people at once, being used to transport just one single occupant at a time. Then there is industry and the legal pollution (not to mention all the illegal pollution) that we commit every single day. And the waste that we leave behind…….
The evidence of the inability of the natural environment to balance itself in spite of our hourly attempts to destabilize it is insurmountable to most critically thinking, ethical individuals. Advocacy for change should be considered the highest of ethical decisions in public policy today.

          • Davis, “Ask a hunter why hunting deer helps to save the deer population from being wiped out.”

Am a little confused at your point here. Are you suggesting that unlike lefties you think humans are worth saving but they do need to be hunted every now and then to keep the population down?! OK, who gets to be the hunters and who has to be the hunted? Who gets to decide?

What your argument fails to recognize though is that transportation and logistics are integral to modern society. While those cars and trucks are spitting out some pollution they are also responsible for bringing food from the farms to the world. Same with other goods and services. How do you propose to replace this logistics system? What specific technology will do the same job as the IC engine has done to improve the lives of billions of people?

Change to what exactly?! Changing from something not so good to something worse just so people can feel good about the change is not an argument to rally behind.

    • I believe what is really happening is weather warfare. I believe that we are slowly being conditioned to dependence on everything through those in power through fear.

    • Totally agree – it’s a shame those few lines mentioning this sham was included in this video. I’m with you all the way … as only a recent subscriber BUT ask that Caitlin looks deeper into this mass deception perception.

Is this who we want teaching our children?

  • Thanks for this. Really excellent. I’d forgotten what it is like. My hearing is not great but the music was cool. No need for a remix.

  • A very big thank you for this vital & truthful message, what shame our governments don’t share the same philosophy, instead of the rehearsed deceit that lives in our Parliament, and the destruction allowed of our environment by the Corporate Giants, for material gain of the Cabal, controlled by The Atlantic Council, Plutocrats.
The governments of the West ARE in the process of selling our Sovereignty, to these very same Plutocrats!
I urge people who read this, to please listen to my link provided above, a collapse of our Financial System is near, a BAIL-IN has been planed to STEAL your deposits!

  • Unbounded Recklessness, the RBA has lost the plot!
Get your money OUT of the banks folk, while it’s still there, a BAIL-IN is coming, soon!!!

  • Ditch the cultural programming; Ditch the economic programming; Ditch the corporate programming.

    Spot On Caitlin!

  • I was once told by a client on an contract job who thought I was spending too much time, that ‘time is money’ — but I thought rather that ‘time is love’ because I was dedicated to serving the client’s best interest (even though they thought their main interest was to make money). The older I get, the more I observe that, the richer people become, the more likely they become ever more corrupt.

  • I loved it! I’m already an admirer of Caitlin’s writing voice, so having you audible with your thoughts throughout the visual presentation is the point of the effort. The poignant video clips provided viewers illustrate some complex ideas for people to take away for future ingestion and additional consideration. The beauty of these projects sprouting out, is that they are readily available for anyone to see online, and they remain so for years after the initial production efforts are done. They continue to have powerful effects upon inquisitive minds, just as Caitlin Johnstone’s writings have.

  • Thanks for the video, great content and challenges to continuing in the rat race. But as is too often the case, the background music is too loud and makes it difficult to understand the dialogue. Please do a remix.

    • My hearing is poor even for my 81 years, so I could only pick up a few snatches of what is being said. (Yes, I should get a hearing aid made by a good corporation.) Maybe it’s just me but.I tend to agree that the background music is too loud, and perhaps the quality of the audio for the voice could also be improved..
