Gaffelighting¹, noun.
Meaning: When narrative managers insist that obvious signs of serious mental deterioration are just innocuous “gaffes”.
E.g. “I know what dementia symptoms look like, stop gaffelighting me.”

~

“God that was so awful.”

“I know! I never want to think about 2016 again!”

“Well the good news is the 2020 election can’t possibly go any worse.”

“True.”

“I mean, the Democrats would have to literally run an actual, clinically diagnosable dementia victim to do any worse in 2020.”

~

Dismissing Biden’s neurological misfires as “gaffes” is so gross. “Oh, he’s always had gaffes.” Yes, he’s often said dumb/gross things. He’s never previously been incapable of remembering elementary facts and stringing words into coherent thoughts, as we are seeing now. Those aren’t “gaffes”.

If Biden had been exhibiting these neurological misfirings his entire life, some Media Matters hack would long ago have published a compilation video of the most egregious highlights from his long career. The footage doesn’t exist. There’s footage of Biden saying things that are politically embarrassing in retrospect, there’s footage of him saying things he should have thought through more, and there’s some slight, occasional stuttering that never stood out as abnormal. Nothing like the mess we see today.

~

The entire 2020 US election may have come down to a race between time and the progression of Joe Biden’s dementia.

~

I don’t think anyone who is sincere and honest with themselves can truly believe that Biden beats Trump. I know the Democratic establishment doesn’t believe it, and I’m pretty sure rank-and-file Democrats don’t actually believe it deep down in their guts either.

~

It’s fascinating how much mainstream argumentation amounts to nothing more than screaming DON’T TALK ABOUT THAT at people.

I am going to keep saying Joe Biden has dementia, thank you very much. I don’t care how much you tell me I’m an ableist ageist monster. I don’t care how much you tell me I’m not seeing what I’m seeing. I am going to keep saying Joe Biden has dementia. Because he has dementia.

You don’t get to run for the most powerful elected office in the world while exhibiting clear and undeniable symptoms of dementia and just have people not talk about it. That is not a thing. Everyone should be talking about this.

It’s so dumb how many lefties are reluctant to push this. This isn’t mocking some elderly celebrity for developing Alzheimer’s symptoms, this is footage of someone being pushed toward the most powerful elected office in the world while clearly losing his mental faculties. Take control of this story now, or Trump will later.

It’s not wrong to point out that the man the DNC are pushing into a train wreck campaign against Trump has undeniable dementia symptoms. It’s not ableist to say someone running to command the most powerful military in the history of civilization exhibits cognitive decline. Seize control of this narrative before it’s too late.

Rank-and-file Democrats have exactly two choices:

1 – Break the mainstream silence on Biden’s obvious neurological decline and start an honest, open conversation about it on mainstream platforms,

OR

2 – Wait for Trump to do it. And you know damn well he’ll make it dominate news headlines.

Keep making noise about Biden’s dementia until he either disappears or takes an Alzheimer’s test on live television.

~

By 2020 we should have been debating which US politician gets the most credit for implementing universal healthcare and which of the green energy systems they implemented have been the most successful. Instead we’re arguing about which politician has the worse dementia symptoms. That’s kinda fucked.

~

My husband did nursing care for dementia patients for 15 years. He’s followed Biden’s career (he’s American) and his jaw keeps dropping at the ridiculous, gaslighting comments I’ve been getting from Dems saying I’m crazy and Joe is perfectly fine. Joe is not fine. Stop lying.

~

Liberals: The “deep state” is a crazy right wing Alex Jones conspiracy theory.

Also liberals: Oh just quit your fussing and vote for Joe. So what if he’s a bit forgetful? You know it’s not like presidents really make the decisions anyway.

~

Democrats: All that matters is defeating Trump, because he’s a horrifying unprecedented dangerous threat and he’s going to get us all killed.

Those exact same Democrats: Don’t worry about Biden’s cognitive decline, it’s not like it actually matters who the president is anyway.

~

I actually like Dementia Joe a lot more than I liked Aggressive, Racist, Jingoistic Joe.

His befuddlement gives him a softness that wasn’t there before.

I imagine Dementia Joe would be much more pleasant to spend time with.

At the assisted living facility.

Where he belongs.

~

It’s not fine or normal for one of a nation’s only two political parties to pretend it lets the people choose their candidate and then turn around and coordinate to deliberately undermine the candidate with the most public support. Anyone who tells you this is okay is lying.

Coordinating to undermine the campaign with the most support is coordinating to undermine the will of the people. That’s never okay, under any circumstances. Ignore all attempts to spin this to the contrary.

~

The only people who hate the media are Trumpsters, Bernie Bros, and people who research facts.

~

Progressives: Okay, we’ve found a compromise candidate in Bernie Sanders. He’s still too establishment for many of us given our dire circumstances, but we understand it’s important to be pragmatic and–

Establishment: Here’s Joe Biden and a dick pic.

Progressives: …compromise.

~

I’ve been harshly critical of Biden, and as a result I’ve received aggressive online pushback from his supporters, but I’m not going to cry and claim this invalidates Biden’s campaign because that would be manipulative, intellectually dishonest, and breathtakingly stupid.

~

“And then they ran an actual, literal dementia victim against Trump, losing in a landslide. And that’s why there’s an ice-free Arctic this summer.”

“Why did you let them do that, mommy?”

“Well darling they kept saying we were being very rude, and we didn’t want to offend anyone.”

~

Calls for civility and politeness are always anti-populist in nature and always arise from the the fear of the ruling class that the commoners can wake up at any moment to their strength of numbers and overthrow them.

~

The sane response to a large faction of your party’s base becoming angry is to get curious about what’s angering them, come up with a plan of action, and fix it. It’s not to give them a derisive nickname, declare their grievances imaginary, and say their anger is the problem.

~

Elizabeth Warren is waiting to see which way the wind blows so she can endorse whichever candidate will give her the biggest career boost. She’s just waiting there, biding her time, tasting the wind to see where it’s blowing, with her forked tongue.

~

Most adults are aware that their government has lied about things. It’s only propaganda, and the human tendency to compartmentalize away from uncomfortable facts, which keeps them from connecting that dot to the possibility that their government is lying to them currently.

~

Activists, alternative media, and oppositional journalists have a duty to be interesting. If you want to wake people up, you’ve got to get them looking at you. It’s not enough to be smart, informative, and correct. You’ve also got to be catchy, funny, entertaining, and enjoyable.

~

Not everything the US establishment does is a considered strategic maneuver; often it’s just the frantic, confused flailings of a dying empire. The neocons sold the idea of a last-ditch gambit to shore up unipolarity, and it failed. And now it’s all unraveling in some crazy ways.

~

If an individual has been caught using a weapon to harm members of society, then society is justified in forcibly disarming that individual in self-defense. This is true whether the individual’s weapon is a knife, a gun, or billions of dollars.

~

Russian, adjective
Meaning: Accurate, in accordance with known facts about reality.
E.g. “Saying the US armed terrorists in Syria is a Russian talking point.”
“There’s Russian online chatter saying the Democratic primary is rigged.”
“WikiLeaks is a Russian asset.”
Synonyms: true, factual, correct

  7. The Democrats are a party of criminals. They are a war party. They serve Wall Street. A vote for the Democrats is a vote for American imperialism, an empire that has committed crimes against humanity too vast to comprehend. Likewise for the Republicans. The American political class should not be supported or respected. It should be imprisoned. But that would take a genuine ‘political revolution’ to accomplish. This great article can be read here:

I have lost confidence in the media and political ruling elites a long time ago, more precisely on 9/11 in 2001.

They were telling me absurdities on that day. They were telling me there were airplanes wreckages in the Pentagone and in a field in Pennsylvania and on the images they showed me on the screen, there was nothing of that sort to be seen.

My mistake was to think that it was obvious for everybody… but I realize that some people will agree with any lie just to preserve the “System” which allows them to be richer than the other guy, to have a social status superior to the other guy etc…

And this is the reason why those people are still casting their vote for Trump, Biden, Macron, Trudeau etc…

And because we are in the return of the days of Noah just before the return of Jesus, it is worst than ever. I pray the Rosary to hasten the return of Jesus to put an end to all the bullshit.

Points or no, Blacks came out on Super Tuesday and propelled him to victory, and there’s every indication they will back him in big numbers all the way through. Blacks are a reliable Democrat voting block, despite efforts by some to change that. At best, it appears, those efforts either will fail or will nip at the edges, but not make any real change.

  11. I just stumbled on your blog through a RT while trying to make sense of Super Tuesday. I greatly appreciate and support your contribution.

I am in agreement with all that you wrote and many of the comments.

Bernie does not go far enough for me. I have protested him over Syria. I have been voting 3rd party but support him.

I suspect the DNC will slip in another candidate. I suspect that is their preference but they will clearly self-destruct to avoid even moderate Bernie.

My purpose of commenting is to solicite discussion of the votes for Biden out of fear, particularly the older Black voter. There is clearly manipulation by opportunistic Black leaders but there is more. In their long struggle, they gained a little power in the Democratic Party and fear Bernie blowing up the little that they have gained. I now have more empathy and less anger at these votes for Biden but still feel they are being fooled. The DNC is blowing up the party, not Bernie.

How do we change the narrative?

    See

    https://www.blackagendareport.com/fear-pervades-black-politics-and-makes-us-agents-our-own-oppression

  12. Do you know, Ms Johnstone, with respect to your husband, Joe Biden is obviously senile, and my big question is actually about press manipulation. It is very hard for me to believe Black people and others are so supportive of Mr. Biden, they overlook the obvious senility symptoms. I can’t believe that, which makes me question the validity of the voter turnout, the results of the election, the press. I know narrative in the MSM directs the electorate, and with the Biden cheerleading going on, I see which its way it is going, but I just find it so weird people would rather vote for a senile old goat than a socialist, or, in fact, rather than just stay at home. It is unbelievable.

And, it becomes more unbelievable as the democratic race goes on and the late night comics make jokes about Trump’s handling of the corona virus and say nothing about Biden. Because in a race among fools both are losers. Saying nothing about Biden just highlights how much more vital Bernie Sanders is. Actually, in contrast to both Trump and Biden. Would the democratic party interfere in an election just to stop a socialist? I am struggling with the idea thinking they wouldn’t dare. But, maybe? I think they would. Which sort of makes a mockery of the Russian criticism. They’re blaming Russians for something they’re doing themselves?

It’s weird, right now, to watch the epidemic spread in the States, Trump say or do something stupid, particularly as those testing kits are AWOL, and no one mention Healthcare for All would mean everybody has access to a doctor. People are literally getting sick and the MSM news is about the stock market and NOT how Medicare for All would mitigate things. It’s not even on the agenda. Because money is more important? Because that is the story Americans are told to believe? I don’t know about a free press, anymore, even one directed by billionaires.

    1. The biggest misconception is that the average person is smart and intuitive. That is not the case. They are shallow, do not think deeply and believe whatever they see on the television or on facebook.

      1. No, I think people are pretty smart, but, right now. apathetic because FB and what’s on tv just more interesting/ entertaining than politics. Most commentators, R or L, are fairly intelligent; I think it is a fake truism that .the ‘average joe or jill’ doesn’t participate in politics. We’re all the average joe and I think most of us have opinions on things; they are very cheap to have. I think the Americans suffer from a weird sort of apathy–why vote when nothing changes? I think they care but despair….

  13. The U.S. seems to be in a competition with Rome to see who can have the craziest leader. How are they going to win this competition without nominating someone with dementia?

  14. You have a choice, A creepy old man that likes little children rubbing the hair on his legs in the pool or a 100 year old crazy communist with a heart condition that praises Castro.

    1. I’d certainly go for the latter. However, there isn’t any communist in the room. Sanders is an old-time New Deal Democrat, who would probably try to solve some of our outstanding problems in an earnest, old-time New Deal Democrat way. We in the US do not deserve such a person, however. We deserve what we’re going to get, because it’s what we asked for: a choice between a sociopathic buffoon and a worn-out wise guy with dementia. They represent what we have become.

    2. Castro was nearly non violent compared to US history.

  15. Do you all remember Ronald Reagan? At least in his second term, I believe he was in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. But we know, or if you didn’t know, it was daddy Bush who was the real president. I hope I am wrong, if Bernie doesn’t become the democratic candidate, we can plan on four more years of Trump. Lets hope he dumps Pense. I shudder at the idea of Pense becoming President.

    1. There’s a weird rumor going around that Trump’s gonna ditch Pense and replace him with Nikki Haley. Honestly, though, she’s just as bad–yet another Zio-muppet.

      https://www.lifezette.com/2020/03/will-trump-drop-pence-for-haley/

      1. Its the “opinion” of people called research journalists but not Reporters. Nikki is smarter than Mike and not quite as Theocratic.

        1. This is the same Nutty Nikki that used to rant at the UN? From the great theocratic (and racist) state of South Carolina?

          1. Yep! Thats why at 80 i am considering moving to Bayamo.

            1. I thought it was Bonomo.

  16. “In religion and politics people’s beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing.” – Autobiography of Mark Twain

  17. This could be a duplicate… sorry.

It’s just not the right time to confront Lunch Bucket Joe over his dementia problem. The correct time to address this mental deterioration of his will be soon after Joe’s presidential inauguration where upon VP HRClinton (our first woman Vice President) will evoke the 25th Amendment and remove the poor mentally exhausted almost 80 president who campaigned hard for his newfound office. Thus Hillary becomes not only the first woman Vice President of the United States but furthers her glass ceiling breaker self onto the panicked scene only to become the first woman ever US President in the history of this United States of America. It will be hoorah USA all the way as Hillary claims the mantle of the two most highest executive offices of the land.

When this pipe dream goes up in smoke then team Clinton will resort too plan B whereas the DNC/National Security & Media State will blame Biden/Clinton’s loss on Vladimir Putin.

    1. Joe, I find it hard to seriously believe that the DNC actually intends for Jibbering Joe to be the party nominee and run against Trump who will chew him up and spit him out. It’s a guarantee that the Orange Man will provoke him with insults and incite him to become bellicose and start spouting incoherent nonsense at the debates just as we have seen him do with attendees at his rallies who have rubbed him the wrong way with their questions. He becomes the feisty “get off my lawn” demented geezer with the slightest provocation. The DNC and its Deep State Shadow Lords certainly don’t want that… unless they want a certain victory for Trump (which maybe they do and Joe is just a pawn in three-dimensional chess).///////////////////

But assuming they want to win the election, or at least to give a credible theatrical performance in pursuit of this professed goal, some scenario will be arranged to facilitate Joe’s bowing out of the primary race in which he has already accomplished his assigned mission, to take out Bernie. I mean the man is so conspicuously handicapped by his dementia that it would take a miracle to carry out this charade to the end state of his election to the presidency.///////////////////

If enough people keep pushing his buttons with cheeky questions, he will self destruct. Maybe he will have a mental breakdown, maybe a reported stroke or a repeat of the aneurysm, or maybe he will simply scare away the voters. Though they have apparently dropped out of the contest, the names of all the other candidates still appear on the ballot (they were in Florida) just waiting for their boxes to be ticked. Neither Joe nor anyone else will have won enough delegates to win on the first ballot and the string pullers behind the scenes will be free to select anyone they choose for the role of nominee, even the Queen of Warmongers. And, boy howdy will she be mad at Putin if they hack the general election properly for her this time. Inauguration at Noon. World War III after brunch./////////////

Any way you slice it, our long national nightmare will continue. Apparently, there is absolutely no one suitable for running this country to be found anywhere. How long have we been looking? And, the best we have come up with in all that time is the occasional fraud like Obama? Maybe the country is simply ungovernable in its present form, but who is capable of changing it and in what way? I’ll say this, we’ve checked off a lot of wrong approaches over the past decades.

  18. When this pipe dream goes up in smoke then team Clinton will resort too plan B whereas the DNC/National Security & Media State will blame Biden/Clinton’s loss on Vladimir Putin.

  19. If you watch the Biden video clips very closely you can see the very thin wires attached to his head and his hands, as his DNC puppet masters control him from behind the scenes. The giveaway is the crazy movement of his eyes, which they can’t control.

  20. How can people be so idiotic as to want Biden; in the polls it shows a huge lead, despite his clear incompetence. What is that which allows such ill-reckoning?

    1. Step O'Rafferty Avatar
      Step O’Rafferty

Look at the faces of his supporters. Their expressions are blank. I don’t understand why anyone would honestly want him to be president. The blank expressions of his ‘supporters’ in those small crowds is a fairly good indication that they do not understand what the job of president entails. They probably cheer and wave their flags every time he says some cue words like “America”, “Blobitty Blob” “Goochmagindle” “Finkleblubber” and so on.

    2. Me thinks that a party, of which the majority is indeed voting for Joe, has absolutely no claim whatsoever to any political validity at all. The US is indeed a one party state, the party of the US Sociopaths In Charge. Well, you wanted democracy, here it is. You wanted an all powerful central government, here it is. You wanted a gang of sociopathic armed robbers in charge of your every move, here it is.

  21. Nobody knows yet just how deeply the effects of corona virus will cut through daily life in the weeks ahead. The potential for disorder isn’t tiny, looking at the current situation, at least in terms of broken business relationships and the flow of vital goods. We’ve apparently entered the hunkering-in-place stage of the crisis. Be prepared for plenty of action when the hunkering ends and the hungering begins. Please read this article here:

I have to quote Mr Chris Hedges again:

“Only one thing matters to the oligarchs. It is not democracy. It is not truth. It is not the consent of the governed. It is not income inequality. It is not the surveillance state. It is not endless war. It is not jobs. It is not the climate. It is the primacy of corporate power — which has extinguished our democracy and left most of the working class in misery — and the continued increase and consolidation of their wealth.”

    https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/15438.Chris_Hedges/blog

To this end, there is nothing those people will not do if you refer to Sir Thomas More in His famous book “Utopia”:

“…I can have no other notion of all the other governments that I see or know, than that they are a conspiracy of the rich, who, on pretence of managing the public, only pursue their private ends, and devise all the ways and arts they can find out; first, that they may, without danger, preserve all that they have so ill-acquired, and then, that they may engage the poor to toil and labour for them at as low rates as possible, and oppress them as much as they please…”

And because we are in the return of the days of Noah just before the Second Coming of Jesus, it is becoming worst and worst and I pray the Rosary to hasten His return because I have seen enough of all the bs.

    1. I see or know, than that they are a conspiracy of the rich on pretence of managing the public, only pursue their private ends…
      _______________________________________________________________

That is true, but the “conspiracy of the rich” gave us the New Deal back in the 30’s
When you arrive at the SHTF moments the rich are forced to change course.

It seems obvious Biden is not going to be elected.
It is hard to believe he could even beat Sanders.
The rich would be delighted to have Trump reelected but if the economy goes south in the next month or two, Trump is also in deep shite. If unemployment shoots up Trump supporters are going to jump ship.

      1. They conspired to coup FDR to reverse the New Deal and implement the fascism the rich are “succeeding” with today, but whistleblower Smedley Butler put the kibosh on it.

        1. The New Deal was intended to fix the economic collapse of 1929. That collapse was huge threat to the wealth of the wealthy and therefore the New Deal was supported by the wealthy because what had been tried for 4 years was clearly not working and the alternative was to allow progressives to gain power and the wealthy to lose power.

The essence of the New Deal was to repair the banking and monetary system. It took at least 25 years of New Deal policies to restore the debt based money system back to its 1929 glory that clearly benefits the wealthy.
One irony is the new Deal policies benefited the white suburbanites (now repubs) at the expense of the urban blue collar workers (now Dems).

For example, in 1930 Detroit was an integrated city with the highest per capita income and highest home ownership rate. Less than 2 decades of New Deal policies irreversibly destroyed that and Detroit declined into a segregated ghetto. It became an island of poverty surrounded by a sea of wealthy suburbs.

          https://youtu.be/9Pb6y9rNKmo?t=869

What I was suggesting is we could soon have another huge economic and monetary collapse . If the SHTF the “conspiracy of the rich” may back another New Deal because if they recognize it as the only way to jump start a dying debt based monetary system on which they depend.

  23. There are times that I have to cite the words of Ms Johnstone as beyond ” Priceless “. These are some:
Elizabeth Warren is waiting to see which way the wind blows so she can endorse whichever candidate will give her the biggest career boost. She is just waiting there, biding her time, tasting the wind to see where it is blowing, with her forked tongue.

  24. I watched the entire Kansas City speech. And now I am pretty sure that Joe Biden has NO dementia issue. He sure is a terrible politician. But please stop this dementia talk. It is misleading.

    1. I seldom say this but you are an idiot. My mother died with dementia and Joe Biden acts exactly like her. That is the problem with America. Too many idiots believing whatever they are told. No one wants to see reality for what it really is all about. Too many @#$@! Dreamers. They will be the first to die when it all goes south.

    2. Here’s the key, Biden used to be an effective politician who spoke clearly about complicated issues. I didn’t like the Senator from Mastercard, but he was skillful at pushing the bankers agenda through Congress.
This “terrible politician” has won state-wide elections and served in the US Senate for about 3 decades. This “terrible politician” is by now on his third campaign for President, as well as having the experience of two campaigns for Vice-President. I never liked Biden, but he was always a skilled politician and unlike with Hillary his claims of “experience” are not a string of failures.
If today Biden looks like “a terrible politician”, then that’s the dementia that you are seeing.
Here’s Sen. Biden given a war propaganda routine on national during the Iran Hostage Crisis. He’s gaffe-free. He speaks intelligently (if militaristicly) about the region, and correctly lists “the stans”. He cogently delivers his talking points in the fixed time frame of a TV interview. I think that if I were a democrat and at the DNC convention I would gather up as many supporters as I could and begin DEMANDING that Gabbard be considered as a viable candidate for President. Both Bernie and Joe are totally unacceptable as presidential candidates.

Novel Coronavirus, the original S-strain and the more aggressive L-strain are released and spreading like wildfire, having jumped all the big waters and mountains from China to the wide world.
Most people dispute that this is a military creation, perhaps from fear of ridicule. The facts are that most of the work done on the S-strain showed it to be about 95% like a bat strain, except that the whole 5% difference was never seen anywhere before, and existed in the section that binds the ACE-2 receptor in human respiratory and digestive tracts.
That was no accident, and was never found in wild animals, because it was never there.
The second L-strain coronavirus, the more aggressive one, that caught China partying unawares has that same exact binding site and spike-protein that lets it reach out and touch us so effectively.
That site that makes it spread in people gets selected for success, is under selection pressure based on spread over time. Some areas are “neutral”, not really affecting infectivity. The L-strain differs by 17% in a neutral area, compared to an S-strain.
That’s huge in viral time. It’s years of mutation and thousands of sequential hosts to mutate that much, but it came out a month after the S-strain, and it has the identical tissue binding sequences.
Here in Texas some people mount horns from a Texas Longhorn on the front of their cars and trucks. The rest of the vehicle is a different vehicle, but they look the same after you mount the longhorns.
That’s what happened with S-strain and L-strain. Different viral test platforms, maybe from different national labs, or the same one, got the same attack-sequence mounted on them and set out attacking Chinese people in Wuhan.
Which sequence predominates in other countries?
S-strain is more prevalent in China outside Wuhan, but what about in New York?

    1. Perfect solution for global warming. I am sure many will secretly be pleased when a couple hundred million die each year to make room for the rest. Sure is nice that it kills the old and weak. They are a drag on society anyway. Just think in just a span of 10 years or less we can remove a quarter of the world population. Then another quarter will starve to death.

      1. Malthus is standing up and clapping!

    2. Dont you find it interesting that very few children are getting seriously infected. Sort of feeds into the theory of this being an engineered virus. The Spanish flu attacked young adults. This attacks the old and weak. Just a thought. I have never been one to believe in a series of coincidences.

What are the Russian definitions of a pessimist and an optimist?

A pessimist is someone who thinks things can’t possibly get any worse.
An optimist is someone who thinks they can.

The decline of the US empire is still in its early snarling, paranoid stage of dementia, and Trump is its personification. Biden is perhaps a little too early for the next iteration of the US kakistocracy. Trump therefore will win the next election to the commander-in-chief of an imperium still lashing out in all directions denying its terminal decline.

    Optimistically, things will get worse.

  29. Caitlin, it’s obvious your readers can see that so-called “democracy” is mere political theatre. Nothing good and important will come from voting. Which heroes from outside the political arena do you recommend we look to for leadership? I recommend that dissidents should study, understand and collectively put into practice the revolutionary strategy and tactics which Yeshua trained His Ambassadors to teach and practice. Unfortunately, His revolutionary strategy and tactics are so brilliant, exceptional and powerful that this is way above the mental abilities even for highly intelligent and well-educated people who fail to grasp what Yeshua said and meant. 30. I now understand viscerally that I live in a nation at war with its own people. It’s not that this has not been true all along — police wantonly slaughtering people without consequence, all-out war against the poor, and ever more brazen propaganda. As a middle-class-for-now, middle-aged white woman, this realization has come late to me. But since war and occupation and weaponry and physical and psychological torture are what my country does best, I know this is only the beginning. Also since I can read Swedish, and Swedish newspapers no longer require a Swedish social security number for subscriptions, I have seen that the very countries after which Sanders has modeled his policies have waged a constant smear campaign against him that makes Chris Matthews look tame by comparison. You were right that things were only going to get stranger, and I deeply appreciate your tireless work and your bravery and your ongoing support.

And I have noticed that there is so much hatred towards the lower socio-economic class from the wealthy elites that they prefer immigrants from far away to their fellow countrymen less fortunate.

This is also the reason why the upper class organized the sad event of 9/11 in 2001 because at the time the lower socio-economic classes were too turbulent with all their anti–globalization protests and the wealthy ruling elites were able by this event to retake control and to pass laws allowing them more surveillance of the lower socio-economic classes.

Western world is so disunited that it has brought decadence, especially among the elites and the golden youth.

Also fits into geo-strategic goals of empire, full spectrum dominance, and Greater Israel. Insight of the day for the DNC. But that might require becoming more inclusive with the lefties, and off-putting to the corporate imperialist base (of funders) so it won’t happen.

  33. The United States political circus has so many rings going on all at once that it is hard to keep up. It is a long way to go till November; there might not even be an election at all.

    1. The last is growing increasingly likely. A leaked document said hospitals are planning for hundreds of thousands or millions of deaths. Trump looks incompetent in dealing with this, a replay of Dubya and Katrina which is deadly to a politician. The economy is crashing. Trump’s BFF Crown Prince MBS just kicked Trump in the balls and crashed the Red State economies of Texas and Oklahoma. Bankruptcies of employers, waves of layoffs, and the following personal bankruptcies are about to rock Trump country to the core.

What a non-dementia addled candidate sounds like …..
“Right now in the United States, reports suggest over 500 confirmed cases across many different states and Washington, D.C., and at least 22 deaths. But the truth is, we cannot be sure about these numbers because the Trump administration has completely mismanaged making coronavirus testing available, and local clinics and hospitals are still woefully unprepared to diagnose potential cases.

And, unfortunately, the more we know about this developing crisis, the more it is becoming clear that not only is the Trump administration incompetent, but that our current dysfunctional health care system is vastly underprepared for this pandemic.

To start, we should not be having someone like Vice President Pence leading the task — somebody who, to be charitable, is not a great advocate for science in general.

Sadly, I have very little confidence in the Trump administration to do anything that is right or decent, or certainly based on science.

I know that we have a brilliant president who has clearly studied this issue very intently, but this is the guy, Donald Trump, who thinks climate change is a hoax, and just last month was telling us that this crisis would somehow magically end in April.

This is the guy, Donald Trump, who said he didn’t “necessarily agree with proactive testing,” and that we’d find out where people were infected “by waiting.”

This is the guy, our president, who said that we have “hundreds of thousands of people that get better, just by, you know sitting around and even going to work.”

And this is the guy who, at the Centers for Disease Control, said, “maybe I have a natural ability” to understand the deadly illness.

So no. I am not very confident in the president’s ability to manage this crisis. ”

Which would you rather see, a Bernie-Trump debate, or a Biden-Trump debate?

    1. Donnie didn’t know people like his grandfather died from the flu and he thinks the best diet is fast foods.

  36. Ms Caitlin,
What if Donald Trump has also dementia ?

    1. I think that’s entirely plausible. But I suspect that a demented Trump could still “win” a “debate” against a demented Joe Biden by his trademark instinctual cruelty alone.

    2. He almost certainly does, just not as advanced as Biden. Check his speech patterns compared to 20 years ago.

So at the moment, there is a good possibility that the US presidential race could come down to corrupt senile old men.

  37. Biden is the choice of Trump supporters and Trump voters. In the American system, anyone can vote in either party primary. At worst, this requires a couple of months forethought to adjust one’s official voter registration. In many places, any registered voter can choose to vote in either party primaries on election day.
There is no contest on the Republican side. Mein Fuhrer has achieved total party loyalty. Thus, Republicans are free to move to the Democrat primaries to vote on their choice about who will be the Democrat candidate. Many of these Biden votes in the primaries are coming from people who will vote Trump in the fall.

  38. Joe Biden certainly has something going on. No argument there Catlin

  39. Has anyone noticed how the U.S. mainstream press has been featuring lots of Hillary stories lately? It’s pretty much daily- what she thought of Bill’s affair, what she thinks of Trump’s Covid-19 response, her Hulu documentary, etc etc. ad nauseam. You know what they’re planning. You just know it in your gut. Bernie won’t fight hard enough and he may not fight at all and do the things his devout supporters wished him to do in 2016. And Warren, she had already proven she’s a disingenuous lying sack of it before she dropped out. And now, in not IMMEDIATELY endorsing Bernie, she has broadcasted to all her American dolt supporters that she was never “progressive” or “left-leaning” to begin with. And they don’t even get it. Because most of them were never as “progressive” as they always thought they were either. Americans are in the main, mostly a bunch of right-leaning, brainwashed fools. Sigh.

    1. Exactly. The Democratic Party is trying to run someone so unthinkable, so incompetent, that public outcry will leave them no choice but to offer a “competent” substitute in one Hillary Rodham Clinton. Or perhaps the billionaire Bloomberg with HRC as his VP so that he can quit whenever he wants and hand it to her.

She is ready, she is eager, and she wants the presidency more than life itself. She knows how to twist arms, how to use her ill-gotten Clinton Foundation money to buy people off, and it is quite possible that she has access to blackmail information that could rival that of her good friend Ghislaine Maxwell. This is how she “gets things done.”

I mean, let’s face it: the monstrous Democratic Party is playing loose and dirty with us. They will do whatever they please, and the people be damned.

      1. Think, McKinley/Roosevelt

    2. Slow news cycle, at least on the political front. In MSM-land, Biden is close to locking up the nomination, so nothing new to report. Yet another endorsement story, yawn. And Herr Trump of course is unchallenged. Thus, those political reporters have to find something else to cover. At least some will go back to an old stand-by like Hillary that always draws clicks and makes editors happy. More than a few probably keep a Hillary story or two on their hard drives to cover for days when they want to go play golf.

      1. McKinley/Roosevelt
        Biden/Clinton

  40. Near the end of an American Presidential campaign, the two (corporate party) candidates meat on national tv for head to head debates. They are promoted as big, election-deciding events of massive importance. A candidate can completely avoid them in this system, but that always looks bad. Trump would send characters in chicken suits to every Biden event using the fact that he’s too chicken to debate to clobber Biden. Thus, these debates always happen, and the best a candidate can try to do to duck them is to limit the number.
It is quite obvious that Trump is going to rip Biden apart national TV in the final weeks of the election. Biden will think he’s prepped, and that he’ll do ok. He’ll have memorized all his little sound-bites. But, even then, Biden already looks bad all by his lonesome when giving a speech. But, not only will Biden look bad himself, Trump will bait him and manipulate him. Trump will combine constant attacks about Biden’s health with claims of weakness and in between that he’ll be trying to make Biden think on his feet. Manipulate Biden into following his script down one path then spin quickly and attack off of that and watch Swiss Cheese Brain stutter and breakdown on national TV.
    This won’t be pretty.

    1. Ralph, you are right and the worst part is that the Democrats know Trump will demolish Biden and they don’t care. This party is in its death throes.

  41. One fun fact we learned in 2016 is that the leadership of the Democratic Party is quite capable of deluding themselves to an incredible degree. From that fun fact, it does actually seem quite possible that their delusions are telling them that Biden is a sure winner against Trump ….just like Hillary was. Just like when they let the media they controlled pump up Trump and publicize him in late 2015 in the delusional belief that Trump would be easy to beat.
The Democrats want to win. They want the power and money that comes with victory. They want the jobs with real power now that turn into resume fodder leading to high paying corporate jobs later as being a former Senior Deputy to an Assistant Undersecretary to the Assistant Secretary does look impressive on the resume. The Democrats want to win. They just recently had power in their grasp, and their main gripe with Trump is that he took it from them.
One of the frequent weaknesses of propaganda is that people tend to believe their side’s propaganda and forget it was just a pack of lies designed to fool the masses into slavery. People end up believing their own propaganda as it becomes their own personal narrative to the point where they’d have a complete mental breakdown when forced to confront reality.
The Democrats want to win. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t completely delusional in their belief that Biden is their route back to power and the future wealth that comes from that. We know not to underestimate the Democrats capacity for self-delusion.

  42. Maybe its the McKinley conspiracy?Choose your VP.

  43. There is every possibility that Trump could lose to Biden/H. Clinton if the market and economy has crashed. It happens to everyone in office when that occurs.

Biden will resign because of his health and HRC will become president.

I knew these yuppies would stop at nothing back in the 1980s.

    1. HRC could care less if people like her or elect her at the top of the ticket. She simply wants power by whatever means.

  44. The only question at this point is who is going to be the Edward Gibbon who writes the seminal masterpiece about rise and fall of the US Empire.

  45. Caitlin, you are spot on as always. I would also add that Bernie Sander’s unwillingness to call out Joe Biden’s mental capacity is a losing strategy. Bernie is going up against the entire Democratic Party machine, the media, everyone who serves the ruling class. He’s got to take the gloves off and really fight back hard. What does he have to lose at this point??? He may be our last chance for a non-violent revolution.

    1. Mary, if Trump wins i am moving to Bayamo and Cuba offers Bernie,
Hemingway’s house to live in and write his memoirs.

  46. You are right and yet there is more or less nothing to do about it, except to keep (uselessly) speaking the truth (until “they” come knocking at the door to drag one away). It is America’s fate, like that of any empire, to flail its way into total corruption and decadence and collapse in an ugly, and given the character of the nation, violent snit-fit, screaming #1 #1 #1 all the way into the black-hole of human history, which old #1 is doing its very best will the the last line of human history.
