You sided with the abuser like a fucking cliché.

You told your son he shouldn’t displease his mother when he showed you the bite marks and bruises.

You chugged Nyquil while your husband raped your daughters and pretended to faint whenever they tried to tell you.

You invited the priest for dinner every Thursday and called your son an evil liar when he said what happens during prayer time.

You sided with the abuser like a fucking cliché.

You shrieked “rioting” and “looting” when people expressed their anger about cops murdering them with impunity.

You shrieked “terrorism” and “antisemitism” when Palestinians rose up against genocide and apartheid.

You called child rape in the Church a conspiracy theory and piously held out your tongue for your cracker.

You babbled about bad hygiene and Vladimir Putin when they arrested the journalist for exposing war crimes.

You babbled about humanitarian intervention when your government was arming ISIS and Al Qaeda.

You babbled about free and fair elections when your government was starving people to death for their oil.

You sided with the abuser like a fucking cliché.

You sided with rapacious multinational megacorporations over the people clearing their shelves in rightful outrage.

You sided with the globe-sprawling bloodthirsty empire over the nations struggling to retain their sovereignty.

You sided with greedy tech oligarchs over the public whose voice they’re slowly throttling.

You sided with the murderers over those being murdered.

You sided with the powerful over the weak.

You sided with victimizers over those being victimized.

You sided with the abusers over the abused.

You are the abuser.

You are the rapist.

You are the murderer.

You are the empire.

You are the disease.

You sided with the abuser like a fucking cliché.

You sided with the abuser like a fucking cliché.

  1. With just a bit of reinforcement, that rosary (see photo at top) could be fashioned into a handy garrote.

  2. I would love to put these words to metal guitar with a trap beat. Thats just how my soul feels, i always felt that the power of these kinds of musical expression are under utilized, they are for speaking truth to power, part of the natural, spontaneous force that sheds the cocoon of co-emergent ignorance. This is one of many tools that we have to show each other how to drop the temporary veils of suffering. The root of desire and longing liberated by discernment. Nobody owns that.

“You sided with the abuser like a fucking cliché.”

Why do so many choose to side with abusers?
They lack self-esteem. They lack (the right kind of) personal pride.
They don’t feel that they deserve anything better.
They prefer to see the ones doing the abusing as something else.
They have been beaten down by something or someone. Or many such.
Their vision became clouded. They don’t see another way to be.
They have lost good connection to Spirit.
They have forgotten who and what they truly are (and are intended to be).
They got lost in a deep dark cave and can’t find their way out.
Some have stopped looking for that way out.
In today’s world, the demons are running loose.
Some of those demons wear nice suits and clerical collars.
Some of those demons look like nice guys and girls.
Some have become so accustomed to seeing so many grotesque faces
That these faces now look normal to them.
Beautiful faces now look ugly, and the ugly ones look beautiful.
No one can save the world.
If we can, try to help someone out of their deep dark cave in some way.
And hope that they still want to get out.

  5. I have long suspected that Donald Trump had people very close to him playing him like a ” fiddle”. This article shows me that I was quite correct.
It is rare in life to experience a sustained ray of light shine upon the shadow creatures that have so long perverted recent history. At times, a bit of light has shone upon these creatures, but never for very long.

  7. Wow, powerful.
That thing the Catholic Church does with feeding people crackers like we feed snausages to dogs is really weird. Hard to imagine how it could be weirder, unless they get people to roll over or catch a frisbee first as well. Now I’m curious if other religions have similar rituals.

I agree 99% of the time. But when the only way to respond to a murdering abuser is to, effectively, imprison him, her, them. And when you, the speaker, don’t know the history of the abuse, so side with the now abused, you are the abuser.

  9. I didn’t that’s for sure! Well written though as are many of your posts. I think the one that impacted me most was “Free Assange”

  10. We do not take our task lightly. The consequences are severe. We have not simply hastily thrown something together. We have been plotting, planning, analyzing, experimenting for years. We have walked past countless corpses, stood by while numerous brutalities were committed. All because we were focused on that one goal: Death to the Tyrant King.
    .
Today, there’s no one king, it’s a collection of ideas, institutions, individuals. But all can be destroyed—with the correct weapons. We have been forging what we believe are those weapons and now we find ourselves in possession of quite an armory yet so very few soldiers.
    .
We don’t need you to love yourself. Hell, it probably helps if you can’t look at yourself in the mirror. Because then you already know:
    .
You can fool the whole world down the pathway of years,
And get pats on the back as you pass,
But your final reward will be heartaches and tears
If you’ve cheated the guy in the glass.
    .
We don’t care what you’ve done. The question is: what are you going to do? But be warned: We’re not offering redemption—there is no redemption, there never will be, get that foolishness out of your head before you get someone killed—we’re simply offering a way to make it all mean something.
    .
Giving a person a story about why they are in pain is one of the most powerful things you can ever do. Once people understand what is eating at them, their pain often becomes manageable. These people are knitting meaning from what seems to be a meaningless tangle of misery. Taking away the story for your pain is just as powerful. If you can’t discover what’s keeping you in, the will to get out soon becomes confused and ineffectual.

  11. A painfully piercing poem. Given the fact that the systems we’re born into make life much more of a struggle, a combat, a winners-and-losers game than it needs to be, people fall generally into three categories: (1) the vast majority (most all of us) who protect themselves and their loved ones by punching sideways within the systems; (2) a large minority who go further and embrace and identify with the systems by punching down; and (3) a small minority who go further and oppose and attempt to change the systems by punching up. Just look at the long string of comments to Caitlin’s prior post on racism, and these categories stand out. One would assume that Caitlin, being an up-puncher par excellence, would attract to her blog other up-punchers, which she does. Yet as I’ve been reading her blog over a sizable period of time, there has been an increasing participation by down-punchers. Surely Caitlin has also noticed this, and “You Sided With The Abuser…” would seem to be her response to those in the third category who came rushing forward to pummel her most recent post.

  12. Oh Caitlin, your poem felt like the shower after the rape. Thank you.

  13. All good points except “You shrieked “rioting” and “looting” when people expressed their anger about cops murdering them with impunity”. Is combating abuse by “expressing anger” with abuse of a different sort justified? Are not the owners of now destroyed business property, and those formerly living in now destroyed housing not likewise being abused, and just as undeservedly so? Are they guilty of anything more than being easy targets, as compared to those that are guilty?

    1. you can shriek ‘rioting’ and ‘looting’ after you adressed the cops murdering with impunity.

  14. That felt good! Even the most loving get totally fed up with the phony, self justifying, go along to get along mass of degenerate sickos that make up such a large number of our fellow humans. We need to vent our feelings from time to time. There is time enough to “forgive them, for they know not what they do”. That does not prevent us from telling them how disgusted we are with their lying cowardice and other ugly behaviors.

  15. Because I do not go on a crusade or feel outrage for the evils of life does not mean I side with the abuser. Because I prefer reading a nice escapist fiction instead of a depressing non fiction on the evils around us does not mean I am sticking my head in the sand. Because I prefer a romantic film instead of a documentary does not mean I dont care. Life is hard and we each have our ways to cope. Some of us are optomists and some are pessimists. Good and evil will always exist. As I have said before getting angry just ruins your day. Be ready to support good over evil when it crosses your path but dont dwell on it or seek it out in an effort to eradicate evil. It is a fools mission.

    1. Excellent. I agree. I believe the world benefits by us individually working on our own vibration and consciousness. For some their calling may be more overt, and that’s fine, although always remember what we resist persists. They (PTB or whoever) stir the pot because that’s their mission. Don’t hate them for it. Our mission is to take the struggle and learn how to manifest something different, or perhaps simply to wake up. Trees struggle against the wind, but grow stronger for it.

      1. Caitlin, to quote a famous revolutionary: — “Teach only love, for that is what you are.” —
        -Rick

  16. Caitlin: What childhood trauma created such anger – dare I say, H A T R E D – in you? Here’s what internationally recognized and professor/firebrand/radical feminist Camille Paglia said to women about men: “Without men, women would still be living in grass huts.” // Isn’t it sugar/honey that still is the preferred palliative over yelling/screaming/flailing—if one wishes to persuade. -Rick

      1. Exceptional cases cannot logically refute the general rule, that men are mostly good—even most clerics. -Rick

        1. Radical feminism – L E F T I S M – hatched those abusers by libertine, hedonistic sexual displays—everywhere!, causing boys and men to suffer non-stop sexual arousal. // Boys and men are sexually triggered – autonomically (( meaning: can‘t control their sexual response )) – by pornographic displays,

  17. Waking people up from the ladeeda land that they wished they lived in isn’t easy. But, it’s got to be done. Good poem, Caitlin. Thank You.

  18. Dear Caitline. (accept that I spell your name different everytime ) r
Who, me? Reading this post that was emailed to me, I thought maybe I’d been slandered again… or maybe Caittline had me confussed with sOmeone else… Then ‘ding!” I get it.. This is a form letter we are sinvited to c&p into a word- prosseesor, print and send anonymous copies to as many common sociopathic hypocrites as we know. No, on third thought, that would be too many people to send letters to. We could just nail copies on the doors of local churches and clubs who we abandoned , smile and drop off them as flyers on the donation tables I like to recycle. So maybe I’ll print Kate-lins’s letter on the backs of their Church newletters. 😉

    1. Jeez, it could be fun to trick the bimbo faced phoney door greeter people into passing out these letters out on the backs of folded flyers they will hand out ifwhen they ever open churches again. greeting the people at the doors with thier fucking cleashees of:
“Welcome Back ! We missed you. The Lord has saved us from the corona virus. It’s a miracle !!” LMFAO

  19. Iron in the words.

  20. Ah, the Buddha Ms Caitlin always speaks the un-sugar-coated truth! The reality of the human species can be vile, ugly, sinister, and contemptible. Ms Johnstone dares to tell it as it truly is, bravo!
As an aside, this article, and its links, are very interesting.
On May 19th, an implicit international political warning was issued, but it was not issued between countries; it was issued between allied versus opposed factions within each of two countries: United States and Ukraine. In the United States, it is a Republican Party warning to the Democratic Party: a warning by Donald Trump, against Joe Biden and against Barack Obama. It is saying: “We have got the goods on you, and we are not releasing it yet. But here is a sample. So, let us deal.”
It is a warning that comes from the current President of Ukraine, Volodmyr Zelenskiy, and that places into an exceptionally bad light his immediate predecessor, Petro Poroshenko, as having been a mere vassal of Donald Trumps immediate predecessor, Barack Obama. You can read this enlightening article here:
United States Empire: Biden and Kerry Gave Orders to Ukraines President by Eric Zuesse!

  21. Yup, you’re right it is the plague and Darwin was only partially right in his hypothesis of, “survival of the fittest”, because what he was really observing was survival of the pathogens, there are more examples of the, ‘fittests’, bringing about the end of their species than the other way around. Just as a bee colony can be hijacked to potentially annihlate an entire specie’s so too the human species by psychopathic so-called religions worshipped by only fools, optimists and psychopaths. The Catholic Church in particular is nothing more than a Jewish institution whose primary mission it is to destroy all hope for all eternity and to murder Jews who become too humane. The rest of Christiandom isn’t much better inflicted as they are of these parasitic pathogens. Isn’t it interesting that just about the only thing Jesus ever had to say about sex was, ‘don’t kill me over it’s, but yet that is about all we ever hear about out of the mouths of Jews and Christians? You can rest assured that within that lays the breeding ground for parasitic pathogens.

  22. No.
    No I did not!
    Never.

  23. Chris Hedges has two interesting articles reference Sheldon Wolin an inverted totalitarianism

  24. Ms. J, I get the point.
I would plead guilty to one of the charges because I believe in property and property rights: “You sided with rapacious multinational megacorporations over the people clearing their shelves in rightful outrage.”
Of course, I am an anarcho-capitalist who realizes that these megacorporations would not be prospering, or even in existence, without their assets boosted by crony capitalism, which indeed does begin with theft (okay, “taxation”).
Other than that one, in my humble opinion, AnCaps who have had their heads on straight will plead innocence as they are innocent of these charges.

  25. Powerful and honest – as confronting as it needs to be! Thanks, Caitlin. Again. Always.

Thank you, Caitlin . . . chills all over.

  27. You excel yourself`! (Actually, you do that a lot.)

  28. Excellent, but to address the issue demands a “why”. Cowardice? An adolescent understanding of the US? Conflated America with government? A ‘lead role in a cage rather than a walk-on part in a war’? The fight has not been red v blue, haves or have-nots, black against white, man or woman for some time. The issue, as we move from the information age to the era of activism, is (insistently) informed or (willfully) ignorant. Considering what is being said about public schools in the US and now a university education, we are at least two generations into an inability to ask the questions demanded of citizenship and conduct ourselves accordingly.

The good news is that millennials can’t stop asking questions; the bad news is that they have a tendency to ‘come out fighting, but still doing what they’re told’. But change is the only constant in the universe, so hope is not lost.
