Imperialist pundit and Obama administration cold warrior Michael McFaul recently tweeted the following:

“Belarusians, inside and outside of the country, have reached out to me this week to ask why the West is so indifferent to their courageous fight for democracy. I can’t explain. Can you?”

I am not highlighting this tweet because it is remarkable (except for the extremely dubious claim that anyone ever reaches out to Michael McFaul). I am highlighting it because it is completely unremarkable.

Two months ago Moon of Alabama published an article titled “Belarus – A U.S. Sponsored Color Revolution Is Underway” documenting all the telltale signs that the Moscow-aligned nation would soon be overrun with protests in opposition to its Soviet-style government. Here’s an excerpt from that June 16th article:

On August 9 Belarus will hold presidential elections. Lukashenko will do his best to win again.

Color revolutions are usually launched over controversial elections. The results are publicly put into doubt even before the election begins. When the results finally arrive western media will claim that they diverge from the expectation it created and therefore must have been faked. People will be pushed into the streets to protest. To increase the chaos some sharp shooters may be put to work to fire at the police and at protesters like it was done in Ukraine. The revolt ends when it is flogged down or when the U.S. favorite candidate is put into place.

Last year the U.S. National Endowment for Democracy financed at least 34 projects and organizations in Belarus. The U.S. does not do that out of charity but to put its finger on the scale.

All the usual imperial narrative management operations were in place in the lead-up to the nation’s election this month, and now we’re seeing CIA cutouts like Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and the National Endowment for Democracy cheering on the protests and condemning the Belarusian government in sync with the US State Department.

“We support the protesters and condemn the brutal government crackdown against them,” said the government with no self awareness whatsoever.

So it’s all unfolding according to the same old patterns. A formula that is so tired and repetitive that those with an ear to the ground can predict them before they happen.

Again, I am not highlighting McFaul’s tweet because it is unusual. I am highlighting it because, in our insane world that is dominated by a The Blob-reminiscent empire which constantly works to absorb or destroy all nations which are not aligned with it, it is completely normal and mundane. It’s one of nearly infinite tweets, articles and TV clips I could have chosen from as an example of the way establishment narrative managers consistently twist the story of what’s happening in our world in favor of the US-centralized empire and against governments which have resisted absorption into its gelatinous folds.

In fact, let’s simplify things by translating McFaul’s post into its original generic template format:

There. That’s a bit more honest.

I love my job. Really, I do. But in some ways writing commentary about the shenanigans of western imperialism is the most boring and repetitive task you can possibly imagine.

There’s really never anything new. It’s the exact same formula with the exact same depraved imperialists spouting the exact same script about nations which rotate in and out of their crosshairs from day to day. And what makes it even more tedious is the fact that everyone’s expected to treat each new “OMG this unabsorbed government must be opposed!” narrative cycle like it’s something new and different.

It isn’t new, and it isn’t different. It’s gotten to the point where it’s the exact same international political news story every single day, and that news story reads as follows:

“US-centralized empire tries to grow larger by absorbing a nation which is fighting to maintain its military, financial, economic and/or resource sovereignty.”

That’s it. That’s all the international politics news you’ll ever see, in its entirety. The rest is just frills laid overtop it so you don’t realize you’re being fed the same exact bullshit every motherfucking day.

And the billionaire news media always march right along with it, because they’ve all got systems in place to boost narratives which maintain the status quo that those billionaires have built their kingdoms upon. The reporters who work for such mass media outlets have no loyalty to truth or facts, only to facilitating the expansion of the empire.

Don’t believe me? Read this Fairness and Accuracy In Reporting piece from last year documenting the fact that mass media coverage fixated uniquely on the anti-Beijing protests in Hong Kong while ignoring the protests against US-aligned governments like France, Israel, Chile and Haiti. Or this one from 2002 about the way The Washington Post editorial board was constantly shrieking about the need for regime change in Iraq because Saddam might have chemical weapons, but contented itself with a brief and mild finger-wagging during the Reagan administration when he actually used chemical weapons.

They have no principle at all. No interest in truth whatsoever.

If Saudi Arabia pivoted its loyalty from the US to China, we’d immediately begin seeing daily coverage of the atrocities in Yemen like we should have been seeing this entire time.

If Israel pivoted from Washington to Moscow we’d immediately be saturated in news stories about the plight of the Palestinians and the protests against Netanyahu’s corruption.

If Australia left the blob and began insisting on its own sovereignty the world would suddenly find itself urged on a daily basis to care a lot more about Aboriginal rights and the refugees in offshore detention centers.

If the government which exited the imperial blob didn’t have any particularly damning humanitarian abuses on its record, western intelligence agencies would make something up, and western media would uncritically report it as an absolute fact.

Mainstream pundits and reporters would make these shifts without skipping a beat. They’d pretend it had been their position the entire time. And when they went to bed at night, they’d sleep like babies.

How do I know this? By observing their current behavior.

And yet every time the establishment narrative managers begin babbling about the Evil Unabsorbed Government of the Week, I get people yelling at me that this time it’s completely different and Mike Pompeo is totally telling us the truth about this one. They’re like a three year-old who insists on watching the same damn Disney movie thousands of times over, multiple times per day. Only difference is the three year-old is probably learning something.

As narrative control gets more tenuous we might start seeing people waking up from the puppet show. Until then all clear-eyed rebels can do is keep pointing at the gaps in the matrix of this one monotonous, repetitive news story in as many different ways as possible to help wake people up from the propaganda-induced dream.

  2. Sociopaths are lying con-artists, and we are ruled by sociopaths, so it should be no surprise that they deceive and manipulate us using proven strategies that work. Maybe 5% of the population will see through the scams, much like Caitlin does, but unfortunately the vast majority of people, maybe 80% of the human population, will not. I call this group the Followers because of their propensity to believe what they are told by the authorities. It is easy to recognize these people currently because they are the ones insisting on wearing masks. While it is not too difficult to learn that masks offer no protection against viral infections, and to figure out we are being royally scammed by a fake pandemic, the Followers never bother. They’ve been told what’s happening by their trusted authorities, and that’s all they need to hear. They don’t question what they are told, and they can clearly see almost no one else does either, so they conclude that the herd must be right, and those “crazy” voices from the fringe, like Caitlin’s, must be wrong. The ruling sociopaths are well aware of this, and they know the herd will police the 5% who actually see through the scams, so that they (the sociopaths) won’t have to. Control the Followers, and you are in control. Once the sociopaths gained control of the money system, which they accomplished well over 100 years ago (the Rothschilds), they gradually bought up all the important media outlets and all the most powerful governments — in other words, what the Followers perceive as “the authorities” — and then controlling the Followers became as easy as telling a bedtime story to a three year old.

    1. Premises ok but conclusion false (result of listening to the sociopaths with Trump?). The pandemic is real and the research shows that masks do protect if everyone wears them.

      1. The SARS-Cov2 Virus strains (there are 7 hitting, globally) are real.

They are “gain-of-function” hybrid strains, lab-made.

The “Pandemic” Response of lock-downs & masks is a manufactured crisis. A PsyOp. Time will tell.

My apologies Caitlin (I know you hate the subject).
        But hey, it’s all connected.

      2. Even the grossly exaggerated numbers of deaths claimed to be caused by COVID-19 never reached pandemic levels. Plus, PCR and antigen tests are worthless, giving high percentages (> 50%) of false positives. And there is plenty of science refuting the efficacy of masks:

        https://hm.dinofly.com/UP/site/Misc/Masks_Dont_Work.pdf

        1. They need to spread the virus as much as possible. Causing confusion, by different means, among the people helps spread the virus. The means are observably accusation, denying responsibility, vaccination, mask issues, and so on. The virus is to stay. Knowing that, many leaders have blocked Americans from travelling to their countries. Yes, the virus is to stay in the US because it is where it was originated and spread. The virus was created in North Carolina University with Wuhan Lab which works on the virus was funded by US. A Chinese researcher, dubbed as Chinese bat woman’ found the virus in remote caves and took the samples to US and subsequently, created a much more dangerous virus by cloning them repeatedly. That was around 2015… and was reported. Hence, Covid-19 is not a single strain. US NAVY personals were infected intentionally. One general who sought for help, because the gov would not help, was removed from service. That is an example of how the virus is to stay in the US. Also google ‘human cages’ and thousands and thousands of ‘FEMA coffins’. I don’t know much about them, nobody can actually have insider knowledge I guess. Just want to share some info.

“…in some ways writing commentary about the shenanigans of western imperialism is the most boring and repetitive task you can possibly imagine.”
    .
Yes, it can be. But such a wealth of material to work with! Endless! The Empire that keeps on giving.
    .
“They have no principle at all. No interest in truth whatsoever.”
    .
When the truth begins to pay as well as lying and peddling horse manure, then truth will have a chance. Until that day, no worldwide shortage of natural fertilizer.
    .
People pledge loyalty to “truth”, but do they mean it? Are we truthful with our bosses? Our co-workers? Our partners? Our family? Our friends? Our neighbors? OurSELVES? Truth is one of those things we are “supposed” to like, like equality and playing fair and stuff like that. I mean, who wants to say they don’t value the truth? But those who practice what they preach and really try to live lives that honor the truth, they live much harder lives than those who don’t. And how many people like to do hard things when easy is so… easy?

    1. Nice post. Easy lives…..yes, for NOW. But what if (as you hint) there is MUCH more to life than what meets the eye? What if the rich and powerful, who love to lord it over others, are the biggest losers imaginable in light of the ultimate game, which picks up where this one before our eyes leaves off? Few think this way anymore, which IMHO is a large part of the problem. The VAST majority think either that we’re headed to oblivion on the personal level, OR that if we believe the right way and say the right things we get our ticket punched for entrance into a blissful (though boring) eternity. The options are almost as bad as Trump or Biden.

Question is: What does Belarus have that we, the Blob, want? Is it just an effort to collect another country into the blob, or is it an effort to extract resources for corporations who own and direct the Blob? Follow the money; always follow the money.

  5. This new ethno-exclusive network “is the Trump Administration’s comprehensive approach to guarding our citizens’ privacy and our companies’ most sensitive information,” by ensuring that China won’t be able to do a litany of subversive and violative things with technology that the U.S. and its allies have engaged in for years. As a policy document it’s nonsensical, but as a moral document, a piece of codified hypocrisy, it’s crystal clear: If there’s going to be a world-spanning surveillance state, it better be made in the USA.This article can be read here:

It’s here, it’s just not fully operational (i.e., in full-effect) yet.
It’s “Technocracy”, first conceived in the 1930’s, and evolving ever since as the top-down masses management — ultimately to replace Capitalism perhaps — in the age of tech. & globalization (which is a result of the means of communicating — i.e., ruling, directing, controlling — globally).

  6. When the Leader of the Free World is described by his Sec of State as “He’s a F’kin Moron”, its no surprise that the Free World keeps rerunning the same old scripts. Besides, the last decent scriptwriter in Hollywood was obviously blacklisted out of business years ago.

    1. “Leader of the Free World” is a “script” in-itself, is it not? I fail to see the connection between Trump (or any of his personal limitations) and recurring scripts that stretch back through decades.
I’d say the bullshit has worsened these past four years. But it’s the bullshit in reaction to Trump—not Trump himself—that has been so over the top (neo-McCarthyism, for example). Sure, he’s something of a doofus sometimes, short-sighted and inept even, but he’s got nothing on the treachery embodied in one Joe Biden—who helped make “the moment” we are living in and has nothing “better” on offer.

      1. So your saying their both Moron’s? Yes I would agree, as they both puppets to the same Deep State reptilians

        1. At the end of the campaign ad I responded to, Biden appears on screen with wife Jill and states “we are better than this moment we’re in.” Biden is a career politician with a long and abominable record that relates quite directly to “the moment we’re in”. I think of him as an inordinately deceitful individual of very low character. So I suppose I was comparing “apples and oranges”—Trump being something of a doofus and Biden being a treacherous sonofabitch. Some would opine that Trump is same, but I don’t think he’s in Biden’s league on that score—and certainly Biden’s long egregious record as a warmongering and elitist pig isn’t approached by Trump’s—however awful—short political record.

  7. ummmmmm….it can be both. a illigitimate despotic regime being challenged by its citizens, AND attrack imperial sharks to exploit the situation. the fact the usual imperiasl organs are quacking away does NOT deligitimize the citizen rebellion. every such outbreak dosnt have its origins in langley.

    1. The microsecond they take a dime from the CIA, they cease to be fighting for “freedom and independence” and now are fighting to incorporate their country into the imperial blob. They may actually think their country is better off as a dependent vassal state, stripped of all sovereignty. And personally, many of them expect the CIA to set them up quite nicely with a few million in Swiss banks.

  8. Thank you for this article.I suspected as much .Why should the West take a different stand all of a sudden and stay out of the political affairs of other nations.
Same old ,same old .The only problem being that most still believe the crap foisted on them by the Western MSM .What will it take to expose the bastards enough so that there is a big wake up call.

  9. What I find most depressing about Western Imperialism and the continuous warmongering is how completely the people around me in the real world believe it all. If I say anything about these issues that contradicts the official narrative people can become quite upset and even fall out with me. I can no longer speak honestly to most people I know; except maybe say something about the weather or isn’t the grass nice & green. But anything that actually matters is guaranteed to upset them. It is very isolating and alienating. Exiting the official cultural narrative comes with a high social cost.

    1. People become anxious when confronted with such truth. It is an avoidance mechanism. I can pretend daddy doesnt get drunk and beat mom or I can admit it to myself and try to do something.

    2. People know the truth for the most part. They know the truth, but are absolutely terrified of stating the truth, of siding with truth. Because to do so risk everything. Friends, Family and professional lives being upended. Because people fear challenging the social hierarchy. So people play along to avoid being pushed to the margins and alienating themselves from the rest of society. Basically people are chicken shit conformist.

      1. I dont agree. There may be some who know but keep quiet for the sake of peace (this is what I do now); but most of the people I know are sincere in their belief.

    3. True that.
However, you can try to embrace (temporary) solitude — while being open, friendly, kind & helpful to strangers wherever you go (for the “human connection” we usually get from friends & family) — and use all the new peace-of-mind and “alone-time” to think and learn and develop your own personal interests, etc. (so you can then share the best you can be).
Besides, if we derive self-worth from friendships & associations with people who are not seeking truth, understanding, enlightenment, and don’t want to, we will be constantly disappointed (and disappointing).
I’m not saying forsake them; just, maybe don’t let it get you down if/when they don’t appreciate the path you’re on.
Finally, once you free-up your emotional energy you will automatically find new, rewarding relationships; if you don’t, you won’t.
      Salud

      1. Well said X…and thank you for saying it. That is the path I am choosing.

  11. This article goes back to 2014; says a lot about where we come from…and where we’re going.

    1. If the US ruling class is incompetent to do its job at home — I refer not only to the COVID-19 catastrophe but to the failing economy, the grotesque election, the inability of governments to control their police, and many other things — it is unlikely that any plans about war with Russia and or China are more than speculative. The threat of reprisal will make use of WMD unacceptable, and the US is not going to be capable of sustaining a long war on the Eurasian land mass whereas the larger states there can easily do it. The only hope of the US ruling class is divide-and-sort-of-rule, so for the moment the EU and India balance Russia and China. But that may not be for long. The adventure in Belarus seems unexploitable as the Russians will almost certainly not allow another Ukraine-style coup and circus to occur.

      1. Why do people not see that such incompetence is not incompetence at all?

        1. Issues of competence aside, it seems clear to me that the US and its allies lack the CAPACITY to rule the world. It’s important that those who oppose this exercise in hubris recognize its impossibility rather than operate under the same illusion that the American empire operates under. This puts the opposition one step ahead in understanding and preparing for inescapable future developments–in this case, jarring, humiliating failure.

          1. And one step ahead making Lemonade.
            …from non-GMO, organic, fair-trade, local lemons.

  12. Thank you Caitlin for another very useful and informative column. It is tiring to see the same old pattern repeated again and again but refreshing to have described this way.

    1. They charged the woman and the person filming it. She was later found to have a medical exemption from wearing a mask.

  14. Not only is such criticism of the US spot on, but the same could be applied to whichever nation is in the catbird seat throughout history. There is nothing new under the sun. Any gang of Psychopaths In Charge that CAN influence another lesser gang will undoubtedly do so. It’s the nature of their mental disease. There is not now, nor has there ever been such a thing as “good government”. All are based on the premise that a gang of psychopaths is justified in holding a gun to the head of others to force compliance with their insanity. Sane people have no desire for such power.

  15. If the US routinely stage protests in foreign countries, isnt it logical they do similar tactics in America to reach their objecives as well.

    1. What do you think BLM & AntiFa are.
      Note: Period, not question mark.

        1. Thank you, Caitlin, for a clarifying link. The bastards run the show, but we’re not all bastards, not even most of us. And THAT is where our hope must lie.

      1. i’ll treat this rhetorical statement as a rhetorical question.

i think blm protestors are people who are fighting back, after murders by jackbooted thugs at the direction of warmongering whores like pompeo.

the aforementioned thugs welcome the support of militias in suppressing the protests, and the support of online bootlickers who have wept floods of crocodile tears about jackbooted government thugs for decades, since waco and ruby ridge.

credit to ammon bundy and his brother, who i if i understand correctly are not on board with this staggering hypocrisy. i don’t agree with them on a large range of issues, but they have some integrity and consistency in supporting blm and the protests.

i think antiifa is a bogeyman, a fake issue cooked up for domestic consumption for political purposes, just like russiagate was; in this case the fake issue is being used to justify violence against citizens.
democrat dogs salivate on cue upon hearing the word “russia”, while republican dogs salivate when triggered by the word “antifa”.

        1. “i think antiifa is a bogeyman…”
          Makes my point re antifa.

          Re BLM: I’m all-in.

          Re BLM Protests: Nah.
Totally directed by “enemy”* agendas & money.
          Very disappointing.
*Any legitimate organizational leadership would’ve advised/directed members to stay home, rest and take care of self & family to avoid CoV19; that they took to the streets en masse, nationwide, day-and-night, at the height of CoV19 fears/warnings, tells me they we being influenced by people & money that does not have the best interest of Black Lives in-mind.
This is my ‘on-the-ground’ opinion; however, for me to believe otherwise would require cognitive dissonance I prefer to avoid.

          1. It’s astounding to me how CJ
& those in this thread are unable (unwilling?) to see the same manipulation, the same control tactics and the same propaganda methods being employed in the faux “spontaneous uprising in the US of the oppressed” narrative, as they’ve been able/willing to acknowledge when speaking outside of the “US bad” context. You’re either allowing yourself to be played or your part of those who are doing the playing. Perhaps not so objective as you believe? It’s starting to sound like the echo chamber you claim to deplore

            1. Huh?
If you’re replying to my comment, you’re making no sense. Incoherent.
I’ll just figure you made a mistake tacking your comment onto mine (instead of posting it by itself).

            2. If you literally cannot comprehend why someone might not see things as you do, it’s because YOU are living in an echo chamber.

            3. I have pretty much come to the same conclusions. Played or Player? Either way, lacking credibility. So certain of their position, and quick to fault others.
              .
Only binary thinking can save us now!

    2. The State is always messing about, in all circles, aiming to influence thought & (therefore) behavior; to wit:
      https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/modern-art-was-cia-weapon-1578808.html

    3. Maybe, but it isn’t like U.S. citizens don’t have mountains of legitimate grievances in which to protest over. In fact we don’t protest enough in this country. The U.S. is a massive tinder box of angst and resentment. It won’t take much to burn this whole country down. So yeah, Foreign governments may try something like that but it’s hardly necessary at this point.

      1. The US is a Ball of Confusion*; any actions will be because the banks, et al. wanted it to be so (by directing & paying people to do it).

        * http://bitly.ws/9qFF

  16. Belarus! A fine place for a puppet government and an offensive cluster of US military bases. No doubt hard-ons are sweeping through the trousers of Pentagon officials. Wargasm time soon?

    1. i don’t know if the pentagon is the main driver in this; after all, they are the ones tasked with fighting those wars, something they have not been successful at in several decades. they are ok with burning up grunts in places like iraq and afghanistan, but they prefer slam dunks with little risk like grenada or panama, and the top brass know that russia is an entirely different proposition. from what i understand, after several war game scenarios in a hypothetical war with iran resulted in complete failure for the u.s. forces, they have been reluctant to support a war with iran.

  17. Your always-brilliant insight regarding propaganda and manipulation by those who seek to manipulate and control the global masses, sadly, is watered down and often negated by the insistence that the US “evil empire” is the primary source of all woes in the world. It’s a simplistic and dishonest premise. Psychopaths and sociopaths rise to power in whatever organizational structure they have at hand and are able to use, including those that you may personally believe to be preferred. Pick your structure: marriage, religion, media, corporations, socialists, communists, rightists, leftists, anarchists, zionist, anti-zionist, medicine, law… All structures are tainted by those who seek to be the god in charge entitled to navigate and control them. The enemy is not the US. The enemy is within. Focus on rooting out the cancer within the structure and learn to manage your individual tendencies driven by pride and power and the structure will right itself. Change begins from within and requires an honest evaluation of ourselves first regardless of the affront to our pride and ego, followed by self-restraint and reinforced by external checks and balances. Sure, it’s easier to name and blame a convenient enemy as the cause of all our woes than to see the common denominator across all human structures which points to our own individual nature, but to stare in the mirror is the more courageous and impactful act.

    1. Karl is correct in pointing to a cancer within our awareness. A thoroughly ignored concept which deserves careful scrutiny, even though disregarded warnings abound in our history.
When examining a phenomenon which denies its own existence, it is useful to think of it as a strategic avoidance driven by a hidden agenda. This way, we have a focus for accumulating discernment of what is really happening in the making of the decisions that define who we are.
The stupefying of mankind is not a random evolutionary force, but a means to render us confused and compliant about our own underValued Sovereignty.
A traitor in our own awareness is explicit in the Toltec description of the Mud Shadows, a species of parasite which evades ‘scientists’ by being constituted entirely of aetheric matter, which astronomers have recently proven a real variable with measurable mass (which they term ‘dark matter’, and irrationally deem uninhabited . . . based on zero emprical evidence and Materialist dogma.)
The mudShadows fill in the dynamics of the mystical concept of a false-self, more commonly attributed to traditional ideas of external interferrence by evil spirits, a topic notable for its low quality of thinking and dangerous ideas like jealous gods of monotheistic insistence and loopholes like divineForgiveness (which nihilises morality.)

    2. the structure will not inevitably right itself; sometimes it has to be toppled and a new structure built. the us empire is a toxic waste dump, and it is indeed the main driver, the main source of wars and woes in the world. no doubt other states would be willing and able to try to step into this role, but facts are facts.

      1. Yes, Pretzelattack, the line between good and evil runs through every human heart, but at this moment, the heart of the U.S. is truly the heart of darkness…or should I say “whiteness.” Neither, of course, has anything to do with skin color.

“There’s really never anything new.

What is really amazing is how some people, particularly Americans, can dutifully regurgitate the United States’ latest Two Minutes of Hate campaigns against XYZ Evil-Doer Nation of the moment like well-trained parrots again and again, without even once questioning this smear campaign.

And and then, to top of it, they smugly congratulate themselves about how free and independent-minded they are!

    Rinse, Repeat.

  19. 57 nations in the world that are not ‘free.’ The list is alphabetical but curiously “Gaza Strip” is listed at the end.
    https://www.businessinsider.com.au/countries-that-arent-free-report-2019-5?r=US&IR=T

What about Israel, the USA and South Africa, where human rights are covertly suppressed by unfair political, economic and social conditions and where wealth and money constantly bribes judges and corrupts state constitutions?

    1. Just three countries. I am quite sure there are many more that fit those criteria.

  20. Caitlin, I share your critique of the evil empire. Numerous governments oppressive their people and the US supports even those by extending its horrible tentacles around the world. Please will you write an article comparing different countries with respect to violating and denying human rights.

  21. Ms Johnstone, the Evil Empire gets away with continually feeding their ” sheeple ” the same old slop because they continue to eat and swallow it very eagerly. Why would they bother to change something that always works for them? The people ” outside the box ” such as your readers do not even measure on their radar; therefore we do not exist. The sheeple are like dogs; when they refuse to eat the same old crap the owners and the masters will find some new crap to feed to them. If the sheeple jump up onto the table to confiscate the masters vittles all hell will break loose and the sheeple will be shot.

    1. My adult son and I had a conversation yesterday somewhat along these lines. I don’t follow the news anymore, but he told me that the best possible candidate for the Democratic VP was eliminated because she had visited Cuba. When I responded that the majority of American citizens couldn’t give a shit about this non-issue, he agreed but told me that I needed to make a distinction between the majority of American citizens and the VOTING citizens, who are much more susceptible to the influence of MSM propaganda. I had to concede the point.

    2. Mr. Campbell, I do not feed my dogs crap. I am not their “master”. Not a very good analogy, IMHO.

BTW to all, “Lyin’, Cheatin’, Stealin’” Mike Pompeo AKA Mikey the Pomp. Look for him in 2024 …

      1. yeah Pomperdil vs.AOC. i hope i live to toss the sliced Pompadou we gonna have fo’ dinner…for our dogs.

        BTW…she’ll be 35 in October ’24.

  22. HypocrUSy.
    Twas ever thUS.

  23. It seems to me that if Belarus was in Africa nobody would be talking about their election. In other words the empire is trying to regime change Russia, and Belarus just happens to be in the way.

    1. If it was in Africa and sitting on a mine of rare earths, then it would be important. Otherwise ignored. The US could care less for the people or their supposed freedom.

      1. Venezuela is a target too, but location makes eastern Europe far more important. They have thrown a lot of our tax money on trying to overthrow Venezuela, but it is dwarfed by what they spent on Ukraine, a country without oil or rare earths.

  24. Great writing and I agree with the hypocrisy of western media. But would you comment on the validity of the election in Belarus? Independent of what western MSM says.

    1. Isn’t it FAR more important that people like Caitlin comment on the validity of elections in the U.S.? What influence has Balarus on the world compared to that of “the exceptional nation?” Or as it was put 2000 years ago, why focus on the speck in someone else’s eye when there’s a log in your own?

      1. This whole thread started because of the evolving question in Belarus, I thought it warranted a comment. Not everyone opposing their dictator for 26 years is motivated by US propaganda, and as we condemn the western interference in the unabsorbed (by US/NATO) countries, we should also consider that their population may not want to be absorbed by another unabsorbed.

        1. Is Libya’s working class any freer than before? Brazil’s? So far liberating these people from their so-called dictators has only benefited the oligarchs.

          1. People need to liberate themselves, but the problem is as soon as there is a grassroots anti-authoritarian movement it gets manipulated or crushed. While US is the biggest threat to revolutionary movements, downplaying the repression and corruption in Russia and China doesn’t help.

            1. Who said anything about Russia and China?

              1. I wasn’t referring specifically to your comments, just an overall observation on the commentary here.

      2. You probably thought the same about Ukraine, and Georgia. Belarus is vitally important to what is happening in the world. It is probably at least as important as the US elections. The oligarchs are playing a global game. Turns out even the port in Beirut is important. Did you ever play Go? If computers can now beat humans at Go, then they can help figure out global strategies. The only limitations for the moment are the inputs. Social media is working on that as we type.
