The Joe Biden campaign is reportedly taking down all negative ads against the US president due to his recent positive test for Covid-19.

The Hill reports that according to two sources within the former vice president’s camp, the campaign has “decided to scrap the negative ads before the White House announced that Trump is being taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.”

“The VP can’t say ‘God Bless this family’ and then trash him in ads,” one Biden ally told The Hill.

“Jill and I send our thoughts to President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for a swift recovery. We will continue to pray for the health and safety of the president and his family,” Biden tweeted upon the news of Trump’s positive test.

“Trump’s campaign hit back at Biden and did not indicate it intends to take down its negative ads,” The Hill reports.

This would be the same Donald Trump that Democratic politicians and pundits have been confidently assuring us is both a Russian agent who is trying to destroy America on orders of Vladimir Putin, and a white nationalist who is trying to eliminate minorities from the United States to create a white ethnostate. This same man who they’ve been saying poses a unique existential threat to human lives will receive no attacks from his only viable political opponent.

Doug and I join Joe Biden and Dr. Biden in wishing President Trump and the First Lady a full and speedy recovery,” tweeted Biden’s running mate Kamala Harris. “We’re keeping them and the entire Trump family in our thoughts.”

Former president Barack Obama reportedly sent Trump his best wishes, saying “We’re all Americans and we’re all human beings, and we want to make sure everybody is healthy.”

“God bless the president and the first lady,” tweeted the world’s most virulent Russiagater Rachel Maddow. “If you pray, please pray for their speedy and complete recovery — and for everyone infected, everywhere. This virus is horrific and merciless — no one would wish its wrath on anyone.”

Again, this is after years of Maddow staring at the camera and weaving ridiculous narratives about Russia having taken over the highest levels of the US government. Night after night after night after night.

“I join in the chorus of those who wish a speedy and full recovery to President Trump, the First Lady, Hope Hicks, and all who were exposed to them in recent days,” tweeted another virulent Russiagater Laurence Tribe. “This is no time for cruelty, schadenfreude, or any other form of small-mindedness.”

These are just a few examples. These sentiments are everywhere throughout the Democratic establishment and its allied media.

Do these seem like the sentiments of a media class who believes Donald Trump poses an urgent existential threat and must be defeated at all cost? Or do they sound like a media class who promoted Russiagate and Trump hysteria for ratings?

Do these seem like the sentiments of a political class who believes there’s an urgent existential need to defeat Donald Trump at all cost? Or do they sound like a political class who promoted Russiagate and Trump hysteria because impeachment and advancing longstanding CIA agendas against Russia are more politically convenient than advancing progressive policies and addressing the massive corruption problems which were exposed in their party in 2016?

Would you stop fighting someone who was trying to kill you with every weapon at your disposal just because they got sick? If you actually believed they truly pose an existential threat to you, would a positive Covid test cause you to let up at all?

Of course not.

It turns out all that unprecedented hysterical shrieking about a Russian Nazi in the White House was just political hyperbole. It was an act. They’ve never seen Trump as a uniquely menacing threat, they see him as what he is: a garden variety corrupt American president who is evil in more or less the same ways the other corrupt American presidents are evil. They see him as a part of the establishment they serve, advancing more or less the same agendas. They see him as a part of the club, just covered by a thin layer of narrative to the contrary.

If you ever had any doubt that Democrats will one day regard Trump the way they now regard George W Bush, you can set that doubt aside.

As George Carlin famously said, it’s a big club, and you ain’t in it.

The responses to Trump’s diagnosis from the liberal political/media class show that they’ve never actually been afraid of Trump. In fact, what they have been afraid of is you.

All these admonishments toward civility we’re hearing today, from the subtle like Maddow’s heartfelt prayers to the overt like Tribe’s “This is no time for cruelty, schadenfreude, or any other form of small-mindedness,” are the result of an establishment that is secretly terrified of the rank-and-file public. The ruling class and its lackeys are secretly terrified that one day the ordinary people they despise will awaken from their propaganda trance and realize the power of their numbers, and any incivility and impoliteness directed at the ruling class reminds them of just how ugly that could get for them.

These admonishments toward civility are always anti-populist in nature, and are always the result of nervousness about the public turning toward their rulers with hostility. They are nervous for the same reason you’d get nervous if your dog suddenly remembered its wolf heritage and started killing trespassing deer. They know they are outnumbered. They know our teeth are sharp.

This sudden pivot from portraying the US president as a unique and unprecedented threat to finger-wagging about politeness exposes what’s really going on here. Contrary to what his Democratic detractors and Republican supporters believe, Trump has never been anything other than a servant of the ruling power establishment, serving its agendas in the ways to which his political base is best-suited to support and his opposition is best-suited to allow.

The establishment narrative managers know this, which is why their alarmism about Trump has only ever been an act. There are plenty of ordinary Americans who view Trump as a uniquely dangerous threat, but it is so, so vital to understand that his ostensible opposition does not see him this way, and never has.

Their job isn’t to resist Trump, their job is to resist you. He’s in the club, you’re not. It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it.

  1. Caitlin,

Simply because you dislike someone and think that they are very dangerous, does not mean that you want them to die. If that was the case, then we’d all be in favour of the death penalty, no?

So I disagree that, simply because people are hoping that Trump recovers (ie doesn’t die) is evidence that people consider he’s “part of the club”.

Furthermore, it’s also very probable that the Democrats are playing a political game – they’re “going high” in an attempt to contrast with the Republicans and to hopefully capture some more voters. After all, can you imagine how the internet would have lit up if Biden had said “Trump deserves to die from COVID-19 and it will be poetic justice”? That may actually be a very true statement, but Biden would have been crucified for making it.

Wishing for someone to get well when you don’t actually or sincerely mean it is commonplace in polite society.

  2. Much as I admire you Caitlin I think it is more likely that this is the response that the Democrats calculated a long time ago would most effectively fool the voter base into thinking that they are decent human beings.

    1. The key is honesty and sincerity and if you can FAKE those two you’ve got it made!!

Interesting ideas Caitlin, but it may be more a matter of political correctness to be sympathetic, rather than telling the truth that is poetic justice for the great harm he has caused.

  5. Oh goodness, are we really this evil to each other? I’ve long questioned CNN’s and MSNBC’s questionable reporting. They always talk about dethroning the rich and powerful when they are the rich and powerful. Nary is there a word about the poor and disenfranchised.

  6. Trump has been taken to Walter Reed and provided with supplemental oxygen, Remdesivir and who knows what else. That means he will not be able to sell the “it is no more than a bad cold” bullshit. I fully expect him to survive. But this tarnishes his “brand” and is just one of a series of hits which include the “losers and suckers” story, his embarrassing tax return and his appalling performance at the “debate.” There will be no need to smother him. He is going to lose the election. He won’t acknowledge that he lost. He will insist he won but say he is bowing out for the sake of keeping the country unified or some other “noble” nonsense. I think a tipping point has been reached. He isn’t dying, but he is on his way out. As much as I loath Biden, I sure as hell am not sorry.

  7. Even in the hospital the MSM is all Donald Trump; all day; all the time. Is some disgruntled soldier going to attempt to kill him inside the hospital. Disabled soldiers are very angry people.

    1. He should be very wary of the ‘loser’ in the bed next to him.

The hypocrisy now surrounding the poor sick president is taller than Mt. Everest. However, hypocrisy-shaming has no effect on people who cannot feel shame. That would describe pretty much the entire U.S. political/media class.

  9. Bernies admonishment to beat the “most dangerous President ever” was just an act, and his decision not to fight for us because …Trump… is a hollow threat. They will not relent on is though, with their intention to utterly destroy our rights and freedoms. Nothing has changed in that department. We are all still on the lower levels of the sinking ship of State and they are locking the doors.

“If you ever had any doubt that Democrats will one day regard Trump the way they now regard George W Bush, you can set that doubt aside. As George Carlin famously said, it’s a big club, and you ain’t in it.”
    .
And Groucho Marx famously said that he would never join any club that would have him as a member. We the People don’t need to be in The Politician Club, and we are lucky they would not have us as a member. If we were worthy of being in Their Club, then there is something very wrong with us.
    .
“…their alarmism about Trump has only ever been an act. There are plenty of ordinary Americans who view Trump as a uniquely dangerous threat, but it is so, so vital to understand that his ostensible opposition does not see him this way, and never has. Their job isn’t to resist Trump, their job is to resist you.”
    .
Politicians are birds of a feather. They may have their internal squabbles for show, but when it comes right down to it They will always band together as a predator species against all others. They share the massive ego and self-promotion and narcissism and lack of compassion for others that are necessary character qualities to be a professional politician. Anyone who might be of a different nature is quickly driven out of Their Club long before they get near kind of desirable seat of power.
    .
But We the People have to be careful in how we react to the misfortunes of others. If we delight in seeing even the Predator Class get sick or have problems, then We are no better than They are. Karmic law even says that what one wishes for others will also fall back upon one’s own self. That even applies to those who hate us and purport to rule over us.
    .
Let them have their staged fights. Let them suddenly look compassionate and caring. We know it’s all an act. An actor simply mouths words that were written by another. So it is with politicians. They act out scripts and mouth narratives fed to them daily by Their Minders. They are empty vessels whose job it is to fool you into believing their act. And they must be good at it because so many people do believe that.

    1. Your cynicism is more than warranted right now, and I share it, but don’t foreclose in your mind and heart the remote yet sublime possibility that another JFK or RFK is waiting in the wings somewhere, unseen and unshot. Perhaps, against all appearances, Hamlet was right: “There’s a divinity that shapes our ends, Rough-hew them how we will.”

      1. I hope what ever may be waiting in the wings is a lot better than the Kennedy brothers. John was the president who escalated the US Vietnam war involvement and began the deadly defoliation program.. My cousin was one many that that it killed. He died a terrible death from a rare cancer the defoliate caused. Bobby publicly supported both policies. Bobby was an ardent supporter of the war until Eugene McCarthy’s primary run at Johnson showed that it was an issue that could take him to the White House. JFK put Bobby in charge of the CIA’s “Operation Mongoose” which unleashed a horrific campaign of terror against the Cuban people. Civilians were murdered, schools, power stations and the island nations fuel and food supplies were targeted. Do a Google search and you will be appalled. What people think the Kennedy’s were is a reflection of what they need to believe. Gore Vidal was a friend of the Kennedy’s. He liked them but had no illusions about what their beliefs were and where they would take the country. He rejected the idea the John was going to pull out of Vietnam. He reported that shortly after Johnson was inaugurated, Bobby told him that if he didn’t continue his brother’s Vietnam intervention, he would be a traitor to his country.

Both Kennedy’s were died in the wool cold warriors. Bobby worked for Joe McCarthy. He named tail gunner Joe as his son’s God father. Tapes made during the Cuban missile crisis reveal that Bobby strongly favored an invasion. He proposed that a false flag operation be undertaken, at one point exclaiming. “Can’t we just sink the Maine again or something!” Had John not rejected the idea, the Cuban’s would have launched ICBMS. There is a good chance we wouldn’t be here today. No more Kennedy’s. Please.

        1. The loss of one’s brother is a horrible thing, yet calumny against the Kennedy brothers demonstrates little to no reading of the many excellent books about them, from both inside and outside their inner circles, books which reveal the profound changes they underwent during their political careers and the extraordinary promise they briefly offered to their country. Here’s just one example among numerous others:

          http://edwardcurtin.com/the-devils-chessboard-allen-dulles-the-cia-and-the-rise-of-americas-secret-government/

          1. I’m familiar with the Kennedy’s in ways that you are not. I’m familiar with Dulles and the Paine’s as well. I once had the same starry eyed view of the Kennedy brothers that you have. I wish I could have continued to believe. It was a comforting myth.

When I was in Kindergarten, my parent’s festooned my school clothes with Kennedy for president buttons. I even wore and Kennedy for president hat.(John) There was a very large home made sign on our front lawn made by my father that said, “The Remedy is Kennedy” My parent’s even went to the convention. It was painful for me to be disabused of the idealized view of them I had as a child.

I’m not going to argue with you. It is my experience that people are deeply invested emotionally in the Kennedys. They are not swayed by what are some very unpleasant facts and irrefutable facts. (Spend some time investigating operation Mongoose. The Kennedy s were engaged in a full blown terrorist operation for which they should have been tried and jailed.)

I have to say I find the Paine’s fascinating. Ruth Paine’s father and sister were employed by the CIA. Ruth’s mother and Dulles’s mistress were friends. Ruth just happened to befriend Marie and Lee Harvey Oswald. What a coincidence! I will tell you about another coincidence I learned about a few years ago. I saw a photo of Lee Harvey Oswald as a teenager along side a teenaged Barry Seal, the great CIA drug runner that came to the world’s attention during the Iran Contra scandal. The photo was taken at a Civil Air Patrol picnic. They were both members of the same Civil Air Patrol chapter. The man who headed the chapter was a CIA recruiter named David Ferry. They groom them when they are young, it seems. Or it is just another remarkable coincidence? It is a question I can’t answer.

            1. I am aware of and agree with most everything you point out. But I have taken a hard look at the Kennedys from a variety of viewpoints and have come to the opposite conclusion about them that you have come to. Reasonable minds can disagree, and I appreciate this interchange and wish to well.

              1. wish YOU well.
Damn how I hate some aspects of getting old

      2. There is also just as equally a chance a Stalin or Hitler waiting in the wings as well.

  11. No it does not mean they think Trump is part of the Club. It is just another example of the screwy morality and political correctness of idiotic liberals. Also Rachel Madcow has made a fortune vilifying and insulting Trump and his family and associates for year; she’s worried about losing her number one target and payday.
Trump is not part of their Club. That is why the Western Establishment has dedicated itself to attacking and demonizing him since he won the Republican nomination. If Trump was part of the Club he would be feted like Obama.

  12. Well it is October surprise season. After that debate someone was going to have to dig a little deeper into the manipulation tool box. Trump got there first. I don’t think Biden will risk pulling the same stunt. Doing that would surely backfire. Sleepy Joe would become sickly sleepy Joe. Trump would get away with such attack just like he has in the past. It is what his base expects. But do watch out for a response from team Biden. The Maxwell case is due to deliver some ammunition in a few days. I doubt that the dems will go there, too close to home. We will see if Cait is right. She usually is.

  13. I haven’t fallen for the grand scheme, mostly because I’ve detested Trump for more than 3 decades. It never had anything to do with his politics, but with the fact that he’s an obnoxious blowhard that is personally supported by the fact that he is a pathological liar and a psychopath. Regarding his politics, however, all politicians have the potential to be a danger to the populace but, in Trump’s case, potential has become reality. The puppetmasters who pull his strings have already ruined the makeup of the Supreme Court and the likely addition of Barrett will make like in this country all but unbearable for the majority – if climate change permits us to live that long.
Does anyone rally believe that the Democrats would pack the Supreme Court? I’d love to be shocked, but I still wouldn’t join the big club.

    1. If a movie star can be president, why not a reality star. I think we should elect a comedian next.

  14. LLOYD recently commented:

“This all sounds like a perfectly good reason to delay any further “debates” without either side having to confess that they really, really don’t want another debate.”

This morning I got up out of bed and was going to post essentially the same thing, but with the following added reasoning.

First, the timing of the Tangerine Jackass’s diagnosis. Anybody else notice that the diagnosis came just a couple of days after Disaster Debate 1 and Tangerine’s declaration that he would not agree to any change in “format” for the next one?

Second, as Caitlin has pointed out, the unexpected, unbelievable, mass-cognitive-dissonance-inducing reaction of VIP politicians from both parties, world leaders and their MSM slaves. What, other than more wars leading up to WW3, could unite them in such collective harmony? Maybe SOMETHING that these entities and their Elite masters could all get together and “play out” that would, as LLOYD has said, delay or outright cancel not only the next official debate, but, depending on the length of Jackass’s “illness” and “period of recovery”, might actually end up stifling live, public debate on any important issues until maybe after the election. For example, we might only see tweet-wars until election day, with “spokespeople” doing the live stuff — spokespeople who won”t behave like the two man-boy pea-brains did in that debacle of a “debate”.

However, if the POTUS were to die from COVID, that would pretty much put to rest the notion of any plan in which he was a willing participant. Now, if “someone” were to have deliberately, shall we say, “wiretapped” the novel corornavirus into a small room where the 74-year-old POTUS was present, that would be an entirely different matter.

    1. I always thought debates was where each side defended their position on various subjects. I dont think that was a debate nor should there br any others.

  15. “The ruling class and its lackeys are secretly terrified that one day the ordinary people they despise will awaken from their propaganda trance and realize the power of their numbers.” Remember those old nature movies where a handful of lions are preying upon a huge herd of wildebeests, stampeding them and then taking down the slowest and weakest among them? It always struck me that all the wildebeests needed to do was turn around and run AT the lions, who would then either have to flee or be trampled into the dust. So are we men and women or wildebeests? This is Hamlet’s famous question asked in a different context: “To be or not to be.” The choice, which instinct denied the wildebeests, remains open for us.

    1. I’ve asked the following question at least 20 times in comments on many of Caitlin’s articles and not once has it been answered. I’m going to give it another try.

If 100% of the bewildered herd in the US were to suddenly become as woke as any commenter here, or even Caitlin and Tim, just exactly HOW would they remove the psychopaths in the Exectutive, Legislative and Judicial branches of the US government who are threatening the world with environmental disaster or nuclear annihilation? For example, are they going to march in the streets and demand that those people behave better, “or else”? Are they going to pick up arms and start killing? Are they going to form their own government and declare themselves to be the real, legal government of the US? WHAT?!

Regardless, one thng is for sure, if you want four more years of what you’ve been witnessing for at least the past 30 years, only ever-increasingly worse, just vote for more Rs and Ds in November; makes no difference which.

      1. My hunches are that there would something quickly evolving like massive, nationwide, perhaps global-wide, strikes in key industries and services; massive outpourings in the streets, transport corridors, and public places demanding that the PTB step down; significant numbers of the military and the police taking sides with the revolution; new dynamic leaders emerging amidst the chaos to begin to chart viable courses to transition from ecocidal neoliberalism to various forms of eco-socialism; a new monetary system gradually put into place which renders billionaires irrelevant; a new sense of empathy and solidarity arising in the masses who suddenly sense their power and agency and extraordinary possibilities–in short, a sudden and sublime rebirth of the best in the human spirit. Believe it or not, Edward Bellamy, toward the close of the last Gilded Age, laid most all of this out, step by step, in his forgotten works of utter genius which briefly shook the world and remain free to read sequentially (as they must be read) on the net: “Looking Backward” and “Equality.”

      2. It all sounds great, Newton, but I notice that you did not mention anything about the behavior called “voting”, which, presumably, will still exist after the herd awakens. In addition to doing all of the great things you mentioned, would these newly-woke vote differently than they do now, or would they continue to vote for Rs and Ds, or will there be any voting at all?

        1. The premise of your question, Ish, was: “If 100% of the bewildered herd in the US were to suddenly become as woke as any commenter here, or even Caitlin and Tim,” how might they seize power and run things for people and planet instead of purely for private profit? I assume that, under your premise, the people’s voting habits would become even more prominent and in accord with their “wokeness,” as Bellamy himself envisioned. His Second Great American Revolution, overturning once for all the rule of the rich and creating a radically egalitarian society, was brought about by mass political will and rapid social evolution, involving only a minimum of coercion and violence. I’ve linked (for probably the 10th time on this blog) to an introductory essay to his thought, but all you’ve got to do to get a good feel for the depth and breadth of Bellamy’s work is to pull up “Equality” and read the opening Socratic dialogue between Edith and Julian following the brief outline of the story told in “Looking Backward.” In the late 19th Century, Bellamy presciently nailed virtually every distortion and corruption now nakedly manifest in our 21st Century electoral system. And he nailed a hell of a lot else.

          https://www.counterpunch.org/2018/11/19/on-earth-as-in-heaven-the-utopianism-of-edward-bellamy/

      3. “I assume that, under your premise, the people’s voting habits would become even more prominent and in accord with their “wokeness,” as Bellamy himself envisioned.”

Yes, Newton, if there is EVER going to be REAL change, the woke people of the day would HAVE to vote differently, because there is no other way to legally replace the present psychopaths with “healthy-thinking” human beings. No. other. way. They would HAVE to vote for candidates such as the Socialist Equality Party’s candidates running THIS YEAR for POTUS and Vice POTUS. Do you like what they have to say and promise to do? If you do, you must vote for them even if you absolutely believe that you are wasting your vote.

        1. I cannot vote for either Trump or Biden. I will vote third party, like usual, and, being an eco-socialist, promise to take a good look at the candidates you suggest. Thanks for the video clip.

      4. Easy. With guns and lotsvof bullets.

        1. Já ouviram falar em Estococracia (renomeada de Democracia aleatória)? Seria o 1º passo para transformar a representatividade num sistema verdadeiramente democrático.

  16. It’s nice to see a little decency for a change.

The MSM and Anti-Trumpers have been singularly vicious this time around, far worse than anything the “far-right” said or did during the Obama administration.

I have no doubt these sentiments are not genuine. Maybe they’re afraid their rating will go down if Trump were gone and channel their fear into transparent hypocrisy?

I’ll still take the fake displays of concern anyway. We need more civility. Fake it until we make it, right?

As someone who voted for Obama both times, and a strong believer in WELFARE programs to benefit the poor (regardless of race), it’s sad to see left liberalism to yield to corporate servitude while their traditional values die a bitter death being subsumed in identity politics, efforts to cancel law and orders and now violent revolutionary activities. Much as Trump is nearly everything I don’t like, the Democratic party is very Trumpish.

It would be justice were Trump to be back on his feet after a short round of HCQ and zinc, ready to inflict convulsions of misery and mental torment on his political opposition for the next four years. This outcome is much more likely than they realize which will blow their minds even more than it did in 2016. The tantrum will be epic.

  17. Caitlin Johnstone has been a means of many people being better off through her courageous, logical and passionate pursuit of the truth. She is right that “our leaders” are afraid of us and that is a valuable point. In the meantime, I think that they are also afraid of Trump. He is another garden variety Republican, but with dangerous ambitions to become a dictator. With all their rhetoric about fighting for people, “our leaders” take things mostly personally and know Trump does the same. If reelected he could try to put some of them in jail or at least hound them from office with Barr investigations into their not-so-clean pasts. Like Covid-19, Trump is a force for illness, and is also is in some ways beyond control. In the meantime, I take consolation that the man who likes to think he is bigger than anything else is being humbled by forces, though evil, so much bigger than him.

  18. Nancy Pelosi said it herself: Trump has done more for Democratic Party fundraising than anything in recent memory. He’s the dog whistle on their gravy train – of course they want him alive and well, and at his nastiest.

  19. Who doesn’t know that every one of Trump’s well wishers isn’t thoroughly elated by the poetic justice that has been served? These kinds of pro forma statements are known by all to be entirely hypocritical. No one takes them seriously. There is nothing to see here.

The Dems should run ads which show nothing other than Trump mocking people for wearing masks and making dismissive comments about the seriousness of the pandemic.

    1. That would be hilarious!

      1. While there are many to chose from my favorite was this recent assertion. “It affects nobody.”

    2. Yes, David, I agree that they are trying to appear nice and considerate, since they think Trump is in the deep-doo-doo and will be incapacitated for at least a few weeks, critical weeks, if he does not spiral down the toilet into oblivion.
They might be very, very disappointed.
Trump’s doctors have the advantage of an unlimited budget and access to all possible resources to treat this patient, which is appropriate to his function at POTUS, not a credit to him as a human being, per se.
They can monitor his viral loads, nasal and serum, as often as they want to. Every 4 hours would be fine. They can try any therapy or combination of therapies: hydroxychloroquine/zinc, which he has been non since May is already there. There are monoclonal antibodies. Monitor the effects in real time, ivermectin, remdesivir, which does not pull you back from the gates of Hades, but might be really good when you just have a sore throat and can’t smell stuff. There is bound to be a concerted effort underway to keep Donald Trump well in every way possible. I am sure he has already had his serum vitamin-D level optimized to 60-100 with calcifediol, which was used in the Spanish hospital treatment that did so very well. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7456194/
On the other hand, they may have an ace-in-the-hole at the hospital. Trump’s death may be assured, as many say the death of MLK was assured, and happened in the hospital, through smothering.

      1. Trump has been taken to Walter Reed and provided with supplemental oxygen, Remdesivir and who knows what else. He will not be able to sell that as “no more than a bad cold” but I fully expect him to survive.

        1. If Trump comes out of this pretty functional in 2 weeks, he will look like the archetype of the hero who battles death to a draw and comes back from it with tremendous credibility. It’s archetypal. People are wired to feel this way.
He’ll win in a landslide. He’ll be unbearable, too.

          1. I have considered that possibility. You may be right. But I think this underscores his failure. There are now 14 people in his orbit with Covid-19, more infections than the total that have taken place in seven countries in the last 24 hours. He said he would make the US number one and with 207,000 dead has kept his word. But I don’t think that is what people had in mind..

    3. Trump may be released Monday. In the news conference celebrating his miraculous recovery he will say something like “It was like nothing more than a bad cold. I’m going back to work now and so should you”. It will go viral in the media and he’ll get a big bump in the polls.

  20. I’ve lost track. Which act of this political theater production are we watching now?

    1. The third act of Death of a Nation. Where some believe there is still hope but have no idea what horrors yet to come.

  21. Dear American citizens —

It’s the rich bastards who are turning our world into a nightmare. If you can’t see that, you need to wake up and realize how fucked up your mind is!

    1. Hey Mike, why don’t you get more directly to the point? By the way, it’s a damn good one.

  22. Get the infection,
    loose the election!!

  23. “The responses to Trump’s diagnosis from the liberal political/media class show that they’ve never actually been afraid of Trump. In fact, what they have been afraid of is you.”

  24. The opposition may still hate Orange Man’s guts and secretly wish him dead. It’s just not part of “civilised” culture, of which America pretends to belong, to kick a man when he’s down, especially because nature can be cruel and the human body is imperfect. They gain style points in the public forum for their virtue signaling whilst privately rejoicing that blind fate may accomplish what they desperately want but have so far been unable to achieve.

Just wait till the military doctors at Walter Reed Hospital discover “Novichok” in the man’s bloodstream. Putin will rue the day. Sleepy Joe will avenge Trump with nukes as soon as he’s inaugurated. Yes, that’s sarcasm but in the present environment it’s become a sadly plausible scenario.

  25. I posted this on my website a few minutes ago.

If You Are Going To Pray, Pray For Justice

The next thing I will do after I post this article will be to restore the De Tocqueville quote above, which I had replaced with this last night:

If the president was exposed on Tuesday as reported he could not have developed into an infectious state to infect Melania so that she could also test positive so quickly. (48 hours total) Nobody on the fucking planet is a bigger liar than Trump. Trump will do anything to stay in power and this is one of the anythings. CNN’s National Security Advisor Samantha Vinograd reads the riot act and says this is “the most dangerous moment in the nation’s history.” She may as well be working for Trump. This will likely win the election for Trump after he ‘recovers’.

Ask yourself, would Trump pull a Gulf of Tonkin?

I used my quote box last night because I was not ready to provide an explanation for my statement at that time but now I am. Do I believe what I wrote last night?

The answer is both yes and no. The truth is that I am in a state of suspended judgement. Very comfortable with the fact that I don’t have the needed information to make a confident statement one way or another. So why was it important for me to make the above statement if I have an open mind?

Because likely you don’t. The vast majority of you will unquestionably accept the Trump Covid diagnosis as true. It comes from authority so you say to yourself; nobody would lie about this sort of thing. If this is true for you, I’ll also guess you think that the Boston bombing a few years ago was not a false flag either. In fact there is a strong possibility that you don’t even know what a false flag is. Not many sheep do.

A lot of people who don’t like Trump but how many of them think Trump is an existential threat to the nation? Not many do. You may think orange man bad and you may not like Trump but that is as far as you take it.

I take it further because the world is in a sorry state. A very sorry state and Trump is the most ethically bereft president the United States has ever elected except perhaps for the dude on the twenty dollar bill. He, too, was racist.

The world is overpopulated and extreme resource constraints will soon stress the nation beyond anything ever seen before except during a past world war in one of the countries that lost. Stir in some climate change on top of that mess and you have mixed up what will soon be our national beverage. We need strong leadership.

Trump has never been anything other than a lackey of the ruling elite. Trump never was a game changer and he never will or can be. Trump is an average sociopath out for himself who is not at all concerned about our nation except as far as it benefits him. Trump is a sociopath like those in charge of most large corporations and no different from them. But the US presidency actually is a job which sociopaths should never have. Sociopaths in charge of large corporations are in theory reigned in by laws. But the POTUS has enough power to sidestep laws and Trump is expert at sidestepping laws when profit is involved. Trump is a serial liar and I’d not put anything past him. He has the power to pull off a phony diagnosis to win the election.

Trump is a menace to the nation. Trump has zero commitment to preserving the commons and this is unique to him. Other presidents at least gave lip service to the common good but Trump does not care about any of that. If you are not in his ‘club’ he does not care about you.

Rachel Maddow said people who pray should pray for President Trump and first lady Melania Today. As a spokesperson for fake Trump criticism and a closet supporter of Trump; who pushes a weak phony Russian interference narrative which she knows can’t be a true, this is exactly what I expected. It is why I wrote what I did yesterday.

Power is circling the wagons. Power in both red and blue manifestations appreciate that a rising tide may not lift all boats, but Trump lifts theirs. Trump is and has always been a rising tide for the rich. He keeps their taxes low. And who owns mass media? Rich people do.

Enough of you are still fool enough that you think you might be able to join the big rich club someday. That is all it will take for America to sell their collective soul once again. I wish going to Mars was a real possibility because if it was I’d be out of here. I don’t want to live in a country that has no sense of right and wrong any longer. Voting for Trump shows you not only to be bereft, but it shows you to be someone who can’t tell up from down.

    1. Quote, “I wish going to Mars was a real possibility because if it was I’d be out of here. I don’t want to live in a country that has no sense of right and wrong any longer.” Unquote. L.O.L. I suspect such thoughts were in the minds of the U.S.’s first settlers, getting away from the crap they were putting up with in England. How well did that turn out ?
Running away from our problems never solved anything. If we haven’t got the back bone to honestly deal with these issues, maybe we don’t deserve this planet ?

    2. Kdog wrote: “Trump is a serial liar and I’d not put anything past him. He has the power to pull off a phony diagnosis to win the election.”

Its hard to say without evidence but that certainly seems likely.

If this is fake then the way I predict it plays out is that all three of them have very mild short cases and Trump will be able to tell voters “see I told you it is no worse than a case of the flu”

    3. “We need strong leadership” and Biden ain’t it either, but I agree with your post wholeheartedly in the main. Trump however, most likely does have Covid-19. He’s been flaunting his invincibility and making fun of people who wear masks for far too long now. It was only a matter of time before the virus caught up with him. He’s too much of an old narcissist to ever be humbled by it, but I do hope he has some fevered revelations nonetheless, as he sits at Walter Reed, “working.” Uh huh….

      1. I’m writing in Tulsi Gabbard for President this time.
Early voting starts in Texas October 13, and I want to get it over with.

        1. Good luck finding a ballot box John. Isn’t your Texas governor limiting them? I mean, Harris County, where millions of people live in and around Houston, has ONE? Talk about voter suppression, at which the Rethugs are masters. Hope you are wrong about his “landslide win.” He deserves to go back to hawking his stupid reality TV show or any other suitable hard fall from any grace that graceless cretin may find.

      2. President Kamala Harris 2022 after the death of Biden. A strong leader just the wrong kind of one.

  26. He’s doing a Boris. Watch out for miraculous recovery.

Btw, all you need to know about Covid is here: https://tinyurl.com/y8tck8j8

  27. Wow, what a numbskull article. You have absolutely no clue about what’s really going on.

    1. Please elucidate.

    2. YES! ….or maybe no if you follow through to motive…. Cait says she can’t comment on Covid without all the info because it’s speculation….how many questions are in this article?
I have a question of my own; Has Cait ever written about what is going on in Oz?
I’m sure the world would appreciate an insiders take on that Covid game.

  28. Gee, Caitlin, you’ve disappointed me. I thought for sure you’d write a “I hope John McCain dies from cancer”-type article for Donito Assolini, but for some reason you have, so far anyway, held your fire. Considering what’s happening to Assange, I don’t blame you.

There are probably over 6 billion people in the world who are saying prayers to their various deities for Mr. Trump’s swift (redacted). I know I’m going to say some prayers and wish upon a star before I go to bed tonight (and I’ve been an atheist for over 50 years). Hey, it can’t hurt and just might “help”.

I wonder how many prayers for Donito are being said by the families of the, what is it right now, 213,524 people who have died from COVID in the US during the past 5 or 6 months.

Is it going to be illegal to smile in public for the next little while? (Maybe Donito will manage to write another Executive Order making it so.) If it is, I’ll bet there’s going to be a significant increase in the number of people weaing masks, which would be kind of ironic, don’t you think?

  29. Brilliant, Caitlin. Thank you.

  30. This all sounds like a perfectly good reason to delay any further “debates” without either side having to confess that they really, really don’t want another debate. Never let a crisis go to waste. On another note, someone is still holding “Bull” Durham’s leash tightly on any release of those Russia-gate/presidential coup/treason/international corruption investigations it seems… apparently indefinitely. Much has been said that could easily be interpreted as threatening to many of our “fine public servants” but as George Carlin said, it is a big club, and “you ain’t in it”. Someone apparently called for a two week time out to check which way the wind is blowing while some serious in-club deals finish negotiations and some new scripts are written.

  31. Hardly in the club folks. Just more leftist deception for appearance sake.

    https://www.jesussaidwhat.com/signs-of-the-beast-s-coming

  32. Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler and Schumer (the impeachment freak team) are conspicuously absent from the choir though :o)

  33. Caitlin, you are spot on with this analysis but I don’t think think kind of faux partisan drama is peculiar to the USA. The huge numbers of aware folk protesting the COVID theatre of the absurd in the face of the ever more obviously manipulated shock and aware statistics must have the clique of the posturing ruling elites scrambling for revisions to their various scripts that will engender new novel distractions.

  34. I can almost see Ellen Degeneres dancing with him now – on her talk show post-covid recovery and post-election. War criminals and celebrities – all part of that “big club” that we aren’t in. Maybe they could get Rachel Maddow to join in and form a conga-line?

    1. Oh, I am sure one day Nero will be on Ellen’s sorry show, samba-ing and rumba-ing with that disingenuous, anything-but-kind, corporate lackey, Ellen D. She makes me ill just watching her make her fake-nice, deadpan mug for the camera. That is one mean witch with a capital B, that one is.

  35. Ultimate Proof: Covid-19 Was Planned to Usher in the New World Order

    https://stateofthenation.co/?p=30117

    1. Layers of circumstantial evidence of varying cogency are put forward in this article that Covid was planned. Thank you, Luigi, for linking to it, and I urge all of Caitlin’s readers to ponder it. While I remain unconvinced that Covid is a global elitist plot (but have no doubt that the plutocrats and their politicians are milking it for every possible advantage), I hope that Caitlin will choose to further respond to this evidence, which warrants a thorough and thoughtful examination and rejoinder. No tin foil hats appear to be worn by either side in this heated controversy, at least by those who are focused on the evidence, so let’s respect each other’s reasoned opinions and continue to engage in constructive debate until we learn more. All well-meaning people want a better, more beautiful world than the neoliberal nightmare we’ve been living in during recent decades. The last thing we need to do is turn against each other.

  36. How will the Burning, looting murdering rioters & Trump haters respond to this sickly sweet pandering to Orange ManBad & his ‘ hussy’ Will they feel betrayed? Much! Spot on article, all government is the enemy of the people, traitors & liars. In the new decentralised age we I’ll all become digital serfs.

  37. Sorry Mike. I meant Pence.

  38. Mike Pense is even scarier.

    1. Sorry Mike. I meant Pence.

  39. Fair enough point, no doubt.

  40. As it is Trump is the only one for a long time that has done anything at all for the black community. We only need to look at the US media bashing Mexico for cleaning up its swamp to know who the criminals are in the US.

    1. Despite his crude and non-PC language, Trump really loves the peoples of those shithole countries in Africa?
