Democrats have shocked the world by managing to spectacularly under-perform against a president who has failed the nation by virtually every metric after years of mass media stories claiming he is literally a secret agent for a hostile foreign government.

As of this writing the election is still too close to call, and Trump could still end up winning. This should never have been close, and it should prompt some serious soul-searching for the party. Obviously some drastic changes need to be made, because what they are doing clearly is not working.

So with that in mind, here are the key lessons we can expect Democrats to take away from their terrible 2020 performance:

1. RUSSIA!!!!

2. RUSSIA!!!!

3. Should have run a more right wing candidate.

4. RUSSIA!!!!

5. Should have given more money to the Lincoln Project.

6. This is still Susan Sarandon’s fault.

7. Get Pelosi to say “Wakanda forever!” at the next State of the Union address.

8. Bernie Sanders: secretly Russian?? Demand investigation by Special Counsel.

9. Demand more internet censorship. Threaten antitrust cases if necessary.

10. RUSSIA!!!!

11. Was there a Green Party candidate this year? Find out. If yes, they’re Russian.

12. Get the Krassenstein brothers their own MSNBC show.

13. Breast hats.

14. Kente cloth surrender flag.

15. Re-appoint Debbie Wasserman-Schultz to DNC chair.

16. IRAN!!!! (plot twist!)

17. Spend more time on Twitter yelling at leftists for being too far left.

18. Get Steve Bannon to join the #Resistance.

19. Promise voters if they start supporting Democrats they’ll be rewarded with economic sanctions on geostrategically valuable nations on the other side of the world.

20. Try doing literally nothing and see if that helps.

21. Try giving Trump everything he wants and see if that helps.

22. Get wealthy celebrities to shame voters.

23. See if Ted Cruz will run as a Dem in 2024.

24. Find out what “QAnon” is, then see if maybe we can do something similar.

25. RUSSIA!!!!

  1. The Democrats have moved so far to the right, the working class hasn’t a party to support anymore. So why not support a party crasher who’ll make the D’s crazy..

  2. Why aren’t Democrats screaming for Schumer’s, Pelosi’s, and Perez’s head? The Senate elections were snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Amy McGrath alone should shame Schumer into calling a press conference, apologizing for his failings, and then falling on his sword, figuratively or literally. Millions and millions pumped into Kentucky and Maine only to embarrassed. McGrath lost by 21 points to the most reviled politician on the planet.

  3. “3. Should have run a more right wing candidate.”

    and

“17. Spend more time on Twitter yelling at leftists for being too far left.”

Unfortunately, these will probably be part of the DNC’s takewaways – although there are very few actual leftists in the party now, anyway..

  4. “21. Try giving Trump everything he wants and see if that helps.”

They tried that with Reagan. The failure to resist Reagan (with a Democratic Congress) is a factor that led to this sorry state.

    1. In some sense, they have given Trump what he wants, anyway. Trump wants attention – he has their attention. He is the topic of conversation.

  5. Ms Johnstone, Joe Biden just might get the electoral votes needed to win this election. How that happened would be a mystery to me; and it will take some getting used to. If he loses will Donald Trump vacate the white house and give up the nuclear button? Will the militias revolt?

  6. One has to ask the question; ” are the democrats capable of learning anything “?? The DNC as well as the RNC are only capable of doing what the money tells them to do; nothing else matters.

Politics merely treats symptoms of a social disease instead of acknowledging the cause and curing it. Constitutions, laws, economic principles and regulations etc. partly restrain but do not eliminate evil. For more than 70 years, scientists have known that the root cause of society’s problems is undesirable genes. Callous, greedy, scheming psychopaths are over represented at the highest levels of population control and elitist circles, they are also over represented among the highly paid agents of the “establishment” who have an easy task indoctrinating and controlling the masses because most people like to be indoctrinated and controlled. Agents of the “establishment” know that and they exploit submissive, credulous people. Irrespective of what politicians do, society will continue to reproduce all the social ills and problems of the past until we drastically modify and improve the human gene pool. Of course, this sounds like the so-called “horrific policies” of the German NAZI party, but whether or not we like it, this is the truth of the matter, beyond doubt.

The question then should be: What is the most ethical, fair, quick, effective and least painful way to drastically modify and improve the human gene pool? ANSWER: Help Mother Nature to do the task for us, through an improved process of natural selection which prevents psychopaths surviving and reproducing. The world’s greatest Liberator did not advocate genocide and euthanasia. On the contrary, He promoted a strategy of non-cooperation with people, organizations, banking systems and government institutions which tolerate oppression, pollution and irresponsible exploitation the earth’s resources, extermination of living species and indoctrination of the masses. This means separating ourselves from the evil empire into frugal, hard-working, honest and responsible, eco-friendly, socialist communities which interconnect with one another for mutual collaboration and support.

Don’t be ridiculous. The root cause is capitalism. Period. We need socialist revolution, not more reformism. Evil policies don’t come out of the blue from some supernatural realm. They are enacted by a ruling elite without conscience, a class that is willing to bomb, imprison, torture and starve to death the working classes. In other words, greedy people who believe that their own privileges are the only things that matter and are willing to maintain a huge military force to intimidate and destroy anyone who says no to them.

  8. They have learned their lesson: do what the donors want them to do.

  9. That whoever comes in 5th is the presidential nominee and whoever comes in last is the vice-presidential candidate seems an odd way to conduct a primary.

    1. This is, however, a perfect formula for picking designated losers. That the senior member is easily depicted as a long corrupt senile reprobate having treasonously garnered million$ from otherwise hostile foreign entities is a bonus. Dangerous but State approved and in any event fully managed?

The junior member was publicly outed as a devoted and all too effective former law enforcement prosecutor particularly against fellow people of color and is supposedly now the prime leftist in the Senate? This is simply priceless. Dangerous and smart in a sexy way?

This team is practically perfect in every way to lose a national election, perhaps even to someone the mainstream media together with the full force of the globalist deep state has spent four years and billions of dollars to demonize utilizing very creative negative image building. Dangerous bombastic dynasty building manipulative genus?

Dividing the sheep from the goats? Perhaps, but there is definitely some major wagering in progress on Mt. Olympus and in Asgard. On the one hand the proof is in the pudding but on the other, the poison is in the dosage.

At this very moment in time for where the vote totals are, Biden has the best path to winning The Big Chair. Trump may need a miracle at this point. And if he is on as good terms as he claims to be with The Almighty according to his standing with Evangelicals, then maybe he’ll still get one.
    .
If the Dems should still somehow lose to Trump, maybe there are one or two members of that party in the entire world who realize that: Perhaps it wasn’t our brightest idea to run a Confused Grifter and a Trojan Horse Maoist at the top of their ticket. And if the Grifter and the Maoist do win, then this says more about the depraved mentality of the voters than anything else. In their defense however, it’s not like there was a good choice in this fiasco of an election because there wasn’t.
    .
Bottom line, either way this a shameful display by The Exceptional Nation. Unfit candidates, obscene campaign spending, clueless voters responding like Pavlov’s dogs to the bleating of their favorite propaganda media sources. The only people who have no reason to be ashamed are those smart enough to have not participated in this twisted Monty Python sketch of a political process. Soft cushions and comfy chairs for everyone involved. The rest of us need a good, long shower.
    .
Good luck to the new President. And better luck to the World and the American people. You’re all going to need it.

  11. Congress and White House work together to reward the Jewish state
    ~
The U.S. election will end today, more or less, and we Americans will suffer another four years of putting up with serial nonsense out of a White House and Congress that could care less about us no matter who is elected. Whether the party where everything changes or the party where everything remains the same wins the inevitable result will be further aggrandizement of authoritarian power combined with increased distancing of government from the people who are ruled.
Amidst all the gloom, however, there is one great success story. That is the tale of how Israel and its friends in politics and financial circles have been able to screw every possible advantage out of both major parties simultaneously and apparently effortlessly. Israel might be the true undisputed winner in the 2020 election even though it was not on the ballot and was hardly mentioned at all during the campaign.

  12. try #20. yep.
and count mail-in’s faster. wait longer. get an older candidate.

if it rains they lose. snow OK.
    wait for Santa.
    quit early.
    al gore….
ACTUALLY: Trump shall lose Wis. Mich. Ga. Minn. Az. and Penn.
    and general vote.
say hello to dementia…whew! that was close.

  13. 26. Next time be sure to pick another candidate who is old, impaired and carrying lots of baggage.

  14. 2024. Our polling has become so statistically accurate that voting is no longer required. The winner is ……. Brought to you by the home of the brave and the land of the free. Some restrictions may apply.

  15. Caitlin I knew this was a satire piece from the title. Everyone knows the democrats will learn nothing from this election. Russia!!!

  16. As much as you despise our 2-party system, reality is that no third party is going to be able to win a nationwide election in our lifetime. Watching a bit of the early returns just after polls started closing, in most states the outcomes were very close, as in 2016. The bigger failure was not flipping the Senate, because with a Republican Senate Biden would be blocked from anything significant and Trump would still have free rein. We Democrats have to accept the reality that there are sufficient numbers of people happy to vote Republican for whatever reason (usually selfish, or merely out of knee-jerk hatred of Democrats), and that this IS what our country is these days. Instead of biding time until 2024 or waiting until we can legislate for equality, we need to dive into creating real social change from the ground up. Until more people are willing to vote beyond their own personal self-interest or give up trying to regulate everyone else with restrictive laws, we will keep seeing these outcomes.

    1. No problem. You think Republicans are selfish and they think you are a naive idiot.

      1. Only a moron believes the Republicans aren’t selfish.

Republican credo is simple “What’s in it for me?” LOL

        1. Instead Democrats say free stuff for everyone. No work required. So much better, thank you.

What an ignoramus you are. The Democrats are a right-wing, capitalist party. And it seems you know NOTHING about socialism. I voted for the Socialist Equality Party, as I do in every presidential election, and I always will. The choice is either socialism or barbarism.

        2. Notice you didnt disagree that republicans think democrats are naive idiots.

          1. Dear Dr. Kwaki-kwaka:
no more two in aa row…pls condense yer brain to opening yer own lonely blog.
gwo in a row is tankamount to admitting you made a mistake…and we all know for U that is impossible.
ops, ihave to go burn more ballots now…

        3. Meanwhile the two of you are both falling for the whole problem that we have in this country. You’re viciously divided against each other while the two legs of the same marcher run right over you. How could you in any way support or feel affiliated with either one??!

          1. I am not. I dont vote. One side is selfish and the other side are naive idiots. Third choice please.

    2. The amazing part is all the people that actually vote against their own personal self-interest. Sure they may be forced to live under a bridge but as long as the Supreme Court overturns Roe V. Wade (to them it’s worth it).

More tax cuts for billionaires? Why not? They will create jobs (minimum wage of course). 🙁

      1. Open your eyes. The game is rigged. Doesnt matter who you vote for.

    3. I DID vote beyond my self-interest. That’s why I voted for Bernie Sanders. Twice. Shitlibs like you, however, voted ONLY out of self-interest, and that’s why we are here. If you can’t be bothered to care about others during the primary, STFU during the general. #DemExit

Surrender monkey. You are useless for the advancement of humanity.

  17. Can’t trust the numbers proffered as vote totals. Can’t trust the party organisations, the central committees, the generous patrons who extract free speech from their wallets or even the grasping egotistical candidates for that matter. This entire extended dog and pony show called a presidential campaign might well be just a suspensefully written drama. A script. A piss poor one at that. We’ve been lied to too many times before to trust the powerful insiders who put these clowns, I mean candidates, before us for our expected approval. I mean… out of 330 million possibilities in the United States of America (okay, more like 200 million if limited to just those over 35 years of age who were born within our borders) these are the two most qualified individuals to lead this country? To me, they seem more like the nastiest dregs among us.

The witless Joe Biden has been pointlessly bad mouthing Putin so often and severely to entice you to vote for him, I expect him to take a poke at the guy if they ever meet in a so-called “summit.” Joe has such diminished cognitive skills I’m sure he’s forgotten that his handlers have repeatedly told him that all the trash he’s directed to talk is just an act, to make him look like a tough guy cuz Americans want strong leaders. As Slick Willy once expressed, wrong but strong wins the day in American politics. It’s disgusting. Trump is no better when it comes to being uncouth, it just fits his New York personality more naturally. He’s a Moe Howard on the Standard 3 Stooges Leadership Scale, Biden is just a Curly or a Shemp. I guess the vote confabulators in Wisconsin and Michigan decided overnight that what America needs right now is a cantankerous old Shemp as its new leader. That’s my take on this theatre of the absurd.

    1. Look, the deep statr believed their own PR and let it slip away from Hillary. They wont make the same mistake twice. Russia!!!!

    .
    • “No “revolution” in recent history hasn’t been orchestrated by “big money” and ego-maniacal dupes installing anarchy as a prelude to despotism and tyranny. Funny that the result of moral and intellectual anarchy is always political tyranny.”
    .
Democracy and revolutions have a lot in common …
    .
**“DEMOCRACY**: *it is controlled by capitalist ownership and control of the media, grants from tax-free foundations and favoured press coverage for favoured political candidates. Wide franchise to vote is given to the people to make them easier to control by making them think that “the people” are responsible for the inevitable distortions and negative consequences of the policies the super-rich mattoids impose in order to serve their selfish interests. Democracy separates authority from responsibility, this making it virtually impossible for the voters to reform the system. Those in authority (the mattoids) have no responsibility. Those responsible (the politicians) have no authority except that which is lent to them by their controllers.“*

Johnson makes the following list of the consequences of ‘Democracy’ and our ‘liberalised’ culture:
      .
      • Semi-literate “college graduates”,
      • A flurry of meaningless low wage service jobs,
      • Destroyed or corrupt labour unions,
      • Destroyed and broke family farmers.
      • Unspeakably concentrated wealth,
      • A media monopoly based around a handful of major families,
      • Debased art,
      • A laughably inferior public education system,
      • Mindless pop music,
      • Endless deaths and murders on mainstream prime time television,
      • Falling wages,
      • Massive increases in bankruptcies and private debt,
      • A violent and immoral foreign policy that has for no good reason except instruction from an alien state just destroyed 5000 years of culture in Iraq,
      • A horrifying divorce rate,
      • Suicides in the tens of thousands yearly,
      • Increasing social and economic dropouts,
      • Gang warfare in the cities,
      • Massive indulgence in both legal and illegal drugs,
      • Ethnic strife,
      • Constant and media-driven racial violence,
      • Increase in road rage incidents,
      • Acts of violence in the workplace,
      • Overstuffed prisons,
      • An unapproachable and often incompetent academic elite,
      .
Comment: Based on what we are now witnessing, Democracy is going through the motions of ‘electing’ preselected individuals into political office who then make decisions and take actions that the majority who voted them into office did not vote for.

      1. When democravy insists on equality for all, that is exactly what you end up with.

  19. And they need one party to reliably throw the fight. The fix was in. Bernie was in on it. Sorry to break it to you fools.

  22. How about “Never again let your votes be counted unobservably in a cyberspace controlled and programmed by your conscienceless political enemy”??

    1. I, like Caitlin, Bill Binney, Ray Mcgovern and you at times have considered Russiagate to be a scam. Did you see the documentary Killchain on HBOmax? It not only agrees with your point above, it provides evidence that private individual hackers can penetrate US election software. I always assumed Russiagate was about Hillary’s emails, but penetration of election software is much more important.

  23. You’re wrong about no Russian interference. Big time (actually, almost a century worth).
Sergei Eisenstein and the montage. Applied liberally and viciously and smearingly all over political television ads.
Mostly the Republican montage ads were from the candidate and the Dem ads were from PACS, although at least the Dem attacks usually cited some news article while Repub ads just slung hash.
As Walter Koenig, playing Russian Pavel Chekov might have said, “we in-wented it first.”

  24. LOL! Thank you! Intended or not, provided a good needed laugh. And I’m sure that was just the tip of the iceberg, and that you could have gone on indefinitely. The comments might do just that LOL. Thanks.

  25. There is one thing, and only one, that Trump has done worthy of praise. He has not started any NEW wars, which is one thing more than the last Democrat president did that was worthy of praise. The thing we must get our heads wrapped around is that whichever party is in charge, the vast majority of them are outright psychopaths. They have no human considerations at all. They work for their own benefit, and none other.

    1. Are they inherently psychopaths, essentially different from the rest of us, or are they merely ordinary people who have been steeped in, to the point of internalizing, a psychopathic environment? Here’s a question we all might ask ourselves: If my own life had played out in exactly the manner that the life of one of our “psychopathic” leaders played out–same nature and nurture, same experiences and influences, etc.–would I be reading Caitlin’s blog or voting to sanction or bomb some “shithole” country?

      1. As I understand it, if born ‘normal’ but the environment that one was raised in caused the problem then it’s sociopathy but if it’s present at birth (congenital) then it’s psychopathy. Both act out in a similar form.

  26. The problem was that Biden has no more character than Trump does. The rhetoric was different, but both serve the billionaires and corporate interests that back them. Biden is no progressive, he’s never seen a war or incursion into the affairs of another nation that he didn’t support or lead. Then there was the issue of his declining mental state. If the Dems had run a truly progressive candidate, the outcome might have been different, but the billionaires that run the show by donating heavily to Democratic campaigns. like Haim Saban never would have allowed it to happen. The power structures behind the candidates esp those that control the media and flow of information are more crucial to the outcome than our puny little votes

    1. I heard a rumor that Hunter Biden is going to be Secretary of State because of his prior experience shaking down, I mean negotiating, with foreign countries.

  27. Are you KNOWINGLY advocating for the New World Order elites, Cait?

  28. Tessa Fights Robots: The Great Reset for Dummies (It’s sort of long, but it’s all as good as these snippets. Thanks Cat and Colleen)
The Great Reset is a massively funded, desperately ambitious, internationally coordinated project led by some of the biggest multinational corporations and financial players on the planet and carried out by cooperating state bodies and NGOs…
The psychological reason for the Great Reset is the fear of losing control of property, the planet. I suppose, if you own billions and move trillions, your perception of reality gets funky, and everything down below looks like an ant hill that exists for you. Just ants and numbers, your assets.
Thus, the practical aim of the Great Reset is to fundamentally restructure the world’s economy and geopolitical relations based on two assumptions: one, that every element of nature and every life form is a part of the global inventory (managed by the allegedly benevolent state, which, in turn, is owned by several suddenly benevolent wealthy people, via technology)—and two, that all inventory needs to be strictly accounted for: be registered in a central database, be readable by a scanner and easily ID’ed, and be managed by AI, using the latest “science.”…
The reform in question is meant to disrupt all areas of life, on a planetary scale: government, international relations, finance, energy, food, medicine, jobs, urban planning, real estate, law enforcement, and human interactions—and it starts with changing the way we think of ourselves and our relationship with the world. Notably, privacy is a huge thorn in the collective eye of our “great resetters”…
And currently, the “winning” concept of the day seems to be a world filled with abbreviations: AI, 5G, IoT, and so on. A world where the money is digital, the food is lab-grown, where everything is counted and controlled by giant monopolies, and the people are largely deprived of free will. A world where each element of nature and each living being is either a data host, or a source of energy—or both. A world where the flow of the peasants’ everyday is micromanaged by ever-monitoring, ever-nudging AI that registers thoughts and feelings before the people even get a chance to make those thoughts and feelings their own. A world where living itself is outsourced to the machine, and a human being is essentially a meat suit…
It is absolutely true that the soulless, utilitarian approach to nature, to life, and to other living beings has been extremely destructive—with the most immediate, most visible destruction outsourced to “third world countries” and to the less financially fortunate people in the West. (See landfills, Cancer Alley, and unhealthy, poison-filled non-organic foods). It is true that massive consumerism and the use disposables (brought to us by more or less the same parties who are now scolding people for consumerism) have created a lot of messes. It is true that our oceans and lungs are full of plastic, that the amount of chronic disease is skyrocketing, and that many species are dying off. It is true that our soil, our food, and our bodies are tainted with highly toxic glyphosate. It is true that usually, decades pass between the time manufacturers realize the toxicity of their product and the time when saying so in a conversation stops being a conspiracy theory. All true. However, it is also true that the people who are pointing fingers at social ills and telling us that we need a Great Reset are from the same camps and lineages that have caused it in the first place…

His biggest accomplishment: He hasn’t started a new war.
Don’t forget unhoped for Middle East peace deals.

He has huge, fervent support from Hispanic and Black communities.

    1. So impressive you posted this twice? Just three comments for starters:

Here’s an example of Trump’s BRILLIANT handling of the pandemic:

We had the most daily Covid cases and deaths ever on election day. Australia had 7 new cases the same day. It’s had 27,624 cases in total and 907 deaths. Yesterday the US had 108,389 new cases and 1201 deaths. In ONE DAY it had around 4 times the new cases and more deaths than Australia in total since March!

To be fair population wise, the US has 13 times the population of Australia. Multiply Australia’s 27,624 cases by 13 = 359,112 and 13 x 907 deaths = 11,791. Compare that to the US in total: 9.57 million cases and 234,000 deaths.

As for appointments of judges: it’s got nothing at all to do with Trump but with McConnell, who filibustered and blocked appointments of Obama. The justices he has been able to appoint with a Republican as president are at odds with the vast majority of the public on gun control, abortion and other vital issues.

About Trump and war, here’s the ugly truth being widely kept from the American public:

      https://theintercept.com/2020/10/29/trump-yemen-war-civilian-deaths/

Not only has he devastated civilians abroad but he started one against his own people in the name of MAGA. Soldiers have died in past wars, presumably to protect US civilians. Who needs soldiers to protect us when the president not only allows but intentionally spreads a deadly virus that killed more Americans by the end of April than all of the soldiers who died in Vietnam? By the end of the year at least as many will likely have died as all who perished in WWII.

And who needs wars to protect a democracy that Trump has relentlessly smashed with a sledgehammer?

Aside from this, Noam Chomsky has declared Trump the world’s greatest criminal, worse than Hitler, because Hitler had just one demographic target, whereby Trump has threatened the entire world by going out of his way to abolish all environmental protections possible.

I could go on and on. Drug overdose deaths increased by 4.6% last year. Now we face the end of the ACA, which will cause millions to lose their health insurance in the middle of a pandemic being spread like a wildfire and as hospitals fill up with Covid patients people with urgent medical needs may be unable to obtain vital medical care.

      Great job indeed!

  33. Not too close to call for me – It was completely RIGGED ( as usual ) and Mr Coherent WINS !

  34. 26. Try to convince columnists who, in effect, urged left wing voters to stay home, to reconsider.

    1. Would HMP Belmarsh be considered a home

      1. Trump is the one who ordered Assange be kidnapped and is now behind his persecution. Even Democrat Obama, who is despicable, did not go after imprisoning Assange.

    2. Ah, you’re right on top of reason 17 ain’t ya? Yes, demanding politicians to embrace policies that actually “promote the general welfare” is certainly way too far left.

      1. Demanding something of politicians is the opposites of sitting home and letting Trumpites determine the future of this country. The concern is that a Trump administration will take us much quicker to a fascist dictatorship and violent mobs than a Biden administration, and that will make it harder to fight against. There is no guarantee that “It can’t happen here.” If Trump wins this one watch as he continues to dismantle the federal government, impoverish the blue states, and so on. Any objection to the Democratic establishment by sitting home will be a wasted move as protests are being outlawed, whistle blowers persecuted, voting suppressed. The threat is real as both Ray McGovern and Noam Chomsky have seen.

I have great respect for Caitlin Johnstone, but she is wrong and appears to be unwilling to re-examine the position she has taken. What does she have to say to McGovern and Chomsky?

        1. P.S. I should have started by blaming the Republicans and many Democrats who, if one was religious, would say, sold their souls to the Devil, and the Democrats unwilling to stand up to them, before criticizing those on the real left. The Republicans and establishment Democrats are a two sock puppet when it comes to trying to keep a dying profit system going, but not JUST the same when it comes to civil liberties/rights.

          1. I can only respond to what you’ve written, not what you wish you’d have written. When assessing the Democrats’ actual positions, keep in mind John Mitchell’s instructions to Republican supporters during the Nixon Administration, “Watch what we do, not what we say.”

          2. Twaddle, with all due respect. Democrat is democrat. “Establishment Democrats” you mentioned are the owners and all others, no exception, are either criminal or stupid for joining the above. As if “civil liberties/rights” in the US mattered any when the rights to life, liberty etc. of the rest of the world are being shat upon.

            1. To vary a well-known statement: Justice anywhere is an encouragement to justice everywhere.
