   The fundamental problem lies in the fact that most “ordinary” people basically worship rape and violence, which so-called “authority” incarnates (“do what I tell you to do, because I tell you to do so, or else…”), and will do anything to rationalize the cognitive dissonance and potential conflicts away.

   Which is why even though they might blather endlessly about this or that politician, or this or that cause, at the end of the day, they keep convince themselves that they are powerless, stay sitting on their ass all day, and sell out their own children for a pension check and a pat on the head.

   But then again, this is no different than how people worshiped the old, self-proclaimed “god” kings.

   Without the idiot, suicidal masses to protect them, the wannabe-intellectual, pseudo-elite “intelligentsia” would be no different than the homeless prophets of whatever apocalypse of the day yelling at clouds on the corner of the street.

   Part of the significance in this action is that filing lawsuits based on false information sets you up for huge problems. So in an environment of lies and counter lies, I’m inclined to believe the data in a lawsuit is more reliable, when filed by citizen opposition groups.
   – Corporations have the budget to cover their defense after perjuring themselves.
   – If a citizen opposition group perjured themselves, while attacking a corporate supported agenda in court, they would be hung out to dry.
   – So I’m inclined to believe this lawsuit is based on pretty solid evidence.

   Caitlin, I agree with you about US foreign policy, but not about everything the government says. I trust it regarding the Covid vaccines, for instance, and other safeguards like seatbelts and laws restricting corporate power. I also believe that blanket disbelief in all government policy fuels anti-vaxxers and confederate patriots. I know you can’t say everything in one column, but skepticism of government pronouncements is what is needed, not knee-jerk rejection, don’t you think?

      Words of wisdom, Neal. Skepticism is warranted but not knee-jerk rejection. Reaching back, in memory, the first government pronouncement that I recall being skeptical about was the Gulf of Tonkin incident/resolution. But that didn’t lead to rejection of the interstate highway system nor to the Coast Guard’s rescue of stranded ships, to name two governmental functions.

   I was thinking a different version of the same thing. ‘The govt has to earn our trust, not break the windows and burn down the shops of all their competitors’.

   The fact that the govt believes it has to silence others reveals a lack of confidence in their position. On this issue, I believe they are correct. The reason they want to silence others is that they are so used to hiding evil secrets that they reflexively dig shallow graves in the backyard. They forget to lookup and say, gee, we don’t need the shovels this time.

   I saw a lot of people cheering Caitlin on. I didn’t see any discussion about what ordinary people can start doing to address these horrible problems.

   I don’t see discussion like this anywhere. When I make simple pragmatic suggestions, they just disappear into a black hole.
   I don’t understand why there is no interest in taking action to put the fire out.

   Western civilization is like a herd of lemmings running towards a cliff.
   Except in our case, the lemmings can talk, and they say “yep, we’re still running towards the cliff”. And then they keep running towards the cliff.
   I really don’t understand why there isn’t any interest in taking action to steer the herd of lemmings away from the cliff.
   Some individual lemmings even acknowledge they are running towards a cliff. And then they keep running towards the cliff.

   I did see a really great suggestion about infrastructure – shortwave radios for listening.
   Thanks a lot, this is a brand new idea for me.
   If the internet becomes totally strangled, then there will be heroic techies running pirate radio stations, and IF you have a shortwave radio, then you can listen to these radio stations and get some alternative news, which wasn’t produced by the empire.

      There are always a lot of people cheering on Caitlin. Why, because she says things like, “You’re not supposed to trust the government, and governments aren’t supposed to act in a way that requires your trust. If you find yourself ruled by a secretive power structure which demands your blind faith in its righteousness, something has gone horribly wrong. “ Something that should be evident to all but nobody seems to say.

      That being said here is the dilemma,

      1. She is honest and sincere enough to call out the ‘Liberal’ power structure, “Just imagine the outrage if Trump had done this. Seriously, imagine it.”
      2. She understands what is at stake and puts it front and center, “Truly, if ever there was an adapt-or-die moment for a species, this is it. We are being asked if we want to wake up and become conscious, or go extinct. That is the issue we should all be looking at, and we should be looking at it together.”
      3. She understands how they work, “Before they launch missiles, they launch propaganda campaigns”
      4. She has a ‘Historical’ viewpoint which I always seem to find necessary. Yet somehow often lacking. “Imagine how pants-on-head fucking stupid you’d have to be to look at the history of US regime change invasions and then think that would be a wonderful thing for the people of Cuba.”
      5 She understands the barriers and constraints to our resolving issues, “Political discussion forums are like a couple bickering about dishes in the sink while trapped in the bedroom of a burning house.”
      6. She even says things like, “We have to change our relationship with thought”, Which drives me crazy because she is right yet at the same time is wrong (in my mind/opinion) in her application of ‘thought’.

      So The dilemma?

      1. Yes she has a cult like following, rightly so. Yet as you pointed out, solutions are lacking, They are there, just lacking. Also some seem to believe Caitlin is the “ solution”. This is not a put down, look at any forum and you see the ‘activist’ rallying around the ‘journalist’ as a last refuge. Not a solution though.
      2. Caitlin takes, “We have to change our relationship with thought” to be some type of global ‘Consciousness’. Yes global Consciousness can change but in my mind it is not ‘The Change’ it is the cart. So what is the ‘horse’?
      3 Caitlin is idealistic about socialism, which in my mind and with my perspective is a dead issue. Yes, I will say, “It will never work” and I can tell you why and I have here multiple times. Posting here though is a work of futility though and really never seems to bear fruit. So I do not do so much anymore.
      4. Caitlin for all her great writing is not very responsive. After I think years hoping she would reply to my post she only finally did so when she go mad at something someone said about socialism, Salty Bastard if you are listening I feel like I let you and I both down. Sometimes the whirlwind throws me off balance.

I have at times had a good response or two, all in all though I don’t believe it has been given the consideration it should have. I guess that is up to the reader though.

      I would hope that Caitlin or anyone for that matter, would at least show reasons why they believe it is a failed solution. I really do believe in it, as strongly as anyone believes in anything. This is not for ‘me’. Also the way I view it, this is the ‘socialism’ the socialist want, It also is the liberty and individuality the conservatives want. It is both in one, thing about that. It neuters the ‘narratives’ of the bad guys and puts the ‘power’ in the hands of ‘the people’ . That is what I think anyway. Now you see the dilemma. The answer, to Caitlin’s questions to our questions are right here. Yet not one seems to be able to see them. That is at least what, ‘I think’ Please show me where I am wrong.

         One of the worst fatal flaws in the euroamerican culture is the tendency to argue about ideology and to avoid listening to find out what is actually happening in the world.

         Your post had some of negative observations, and I didn’t see any explanations of what those observations had to do with the lack of discussion about taking action.
         – Its like saying there isn’t any discussion about taking action because of gravity, and not saying how gravity discourages discussion.

         You seem to misunderstand Caitlin’s worldview.
         – Explaining different worldviews is really hard to do, and its a bit like a bird trying to explain flying thru the air to a fish – the frames of reference are so different, and the life experiences are so different, that it makes it difficult to see and understand that different frame of reference.
         – Applying the listening practices in the PDF above might help you better understand the worldview Caitlin is trying to teach people about.

         I took at look at the book you mentioned, and it seems too full of abstractions to be useful in the real world. In addition there were a number of false assumptions, and it seemed disconnected from real life. In particular, I didn’t see any path from here to the ideal you described. There seemed to be too much focus on the intellect, and too little focus on the other capabilities of the mind. The whole area of encouraging and motivating people to support and participate in the change was missing. In some way it seemed to discourage people from doing that. Your reply to Neal had a similar tone of discouragement.

         Its hard for me to describe my sense of your writing. Its a bit like you are talking around things, without ever directly addressing them. Also, the subsections of the book didn’t seem to connect together. I think the question of improving your writing is way beyond the scope of a forum like this. Have you considered participating in a writer’s circle, where people exchange writing and comment on it?

      While thinking about my questions and what Caitlin said, I had a eureka moment.

      – With creative workarounds, and effective opposition to the sociopaths, any form of government can be made to work in meeting the needs of the citizens.
      – If Russia and China can make progress on regaining control of their governments from the sociopaths, then the Anglosphere can do this too.

      This realization makes life much simpler. Now all that is needed to be done is to:
      – Mobilize effective opposition to the billionaires.
      – Whatever form of government you have, focus on the pragmatic actions needed to improve its effectiveness as government.
      – An example of a pragmatic step would be for a community to gain local control of their local police.

      I think “narrative war” is more accurate than “control of the narrative”.
      – This framing is important because it has a direct impact on the efforts to effectively oppose the sociopaths working to co-opt our government.
      – Very rarely does any power block have 100% control of the narrative, and on some level there is always a ongoing war for narrative dominance.
      – Its true that in the Anglosphere and Europe the billionaires dominate the government narrative and this dominates the MSM.
      – If you look at the details, they are struggling to maintain this dominance, and like in a wrestling match, keep changing the narrative in an effort to better resist the latest maneuvers of the opposition narrative.
      – There are many millions of people supporting the opposition narratives.
      – Whenever an opposition narrative gains dominance, the billionaires never quit trying to regain dominance of the narrative.
      – Whenever people give up fighting the narrative war, ownership of their body, mind, and soul defaults to the billionaires.
      – Even under extreme dictatorships there is always an underground continuing to fight the narrative war, and sometimes this effort plants the seeds of opposition that ends that dictatorship.
      – So it seems to me that “narrative war” is a better description of the reality of the perpetual struggle between the elites and ordinary people.
      – An advantage of this framing is that it more accurately sets expectations – if you want freedom and well-being, then your only option is to perpetually fight the narrative war.

      An example of the struggle to control the narrative is that for a long time the official narrative was that covid was a natural virus, and people saying it was engineered were demonized, discredited, and marginalized.
      – Then support for the narrative that covid was a biowarfare attack, which went off course, started gaining too much support.
      – So the MSM narrative did a complete flip-flop, and now the same mouthpieces, who were insisting covid was natural, are now insisting it was a lab leak, and of course they are blaming the leak on a Chinese lab.

    The US is not going to ‘intervene’ in Cuba.
    Anyone who believs otherwise is not paying attention.
    Also, the US did not magically and mysteriously whip up a bunch of protests in Havana. That is also nonsense.
    Cubans very very well may be exactly as fed up with their rulers’ bullshit as everyone else is (regardless of the fact that the US government and the Cuban government have been playing ‘good cop bad cop’ for fifty !#$@*ng years or so).
    When we all decide to gently but firmly pull our collective heads out of our collective a$$es, things will start making more sense.

    Indeed what’s surprising is not that the Biden administration tries to shape what we think because the natural bent of power is power abuse. Whenever any government makes a move toward more justice and harmony, it’s only because the lawmakers meet with pitchforks whenever they leave their cozy lawmaking environments.
    It’s a not so well known physical law that pitchforks stimulate the brain. They make people think twice or again or even fast depending on the context.
    What’s surprising in this case is the lack of pitchforks to push back against this egregious infringement on people’s freedoms, especially in a country that styles itself as the leader of the free world!
    This brings about a question: how is this even possible? Which brings about another question: is this even natural?
    Of course you can say “Well people are just dumb and apathetic and that’s the end of that.” Panem et circenses, that’s all they’ve ever been interested in. The old generationists will tell you it’s the snowflakes’ fault while the young generationists will tell you it’s the boomers’ and everybody will go back to sleep.
    Maybe… Then again, imagine you were the deep state. Let’s say one of a dozen of top dogs carrying in a bundle all the thoughts of your average imperialist think tanks (CFR, Trilateral, NED, USAID…)
    No it’s not difficult. In a nutshell, this thought bundle is made of:
    1/ I want to screw them all
    2/ I want to screw them all
    3/ Yes you too!
    Fits in one hand. What would you do? First, you’d try to control the narrative. At the first opportunity, you’d ask president Bill “I didn’t have sex with that woman” Clinton – perhaps under duress considering the Epstein link and the painting of Clinton in a blue dress in Epstein’s flat, which is not exactly what you’d call the best of tastes if the guy was really a friend – to sign the Telecommunications Act of 1996 which eventually, according to Howard Zinn, enabled the handful of corporations dominating the airwaves to expand their power further”, with mergers ensuring a “tighter control of information”, which Eduardo Galeano delivered with a gift ribbon: “Never have so many been held incommunicado by so few.”
    All the TV channels ended up de facto under the control of the six Hollywood studios which have long been hand in glove with the CIA and the Pentagon.
    Everybody knows that CIA spooks are part and parcel of TV staff. Now the CIA – which is essentially the deep state, having been founded by Wall Street bankers and their lawyers to serve their interests – has done a lot of research on mind-control for over half a century. Imagine they found a way to stuff TV programs with subliminal stimuli framing the viewers’ minds into thinking that Big Brother’s only concern is to make them happy and safe and that censorship of all those deplorables out there – who don’t even watch TV and are therefore loose cannons on the Devil’s payroll, aka Charlie, Adolf or Benito, depending on the perspective of each of these middle of the roaders – is part of that humanitarian program meant to save the planet, their souls and that of their children down to the twenty-sixth generation.
    Wouldn’t that go a long way into explaining this unusual lack of pushback against social media censorship or abusive vaccination?
    Spoiler alert: this is a conspiracy theory – contrary to the CIA’s election meddling Russian bots, pee tape and other Russiagate highlights :o)

       The Second Amendment is/was supposed to offer those pitchforks, but the sheer volume and relatively high quality of reich’s propaganda has passivated[sic] the déplorables. However – one senses that the oligarchies’ little helpers (academy, MSM, enforcers) are running out of fingers to plug the narrative dikes.     Americans need to push back on this non-stop slide into fascism, because the alternative, China, is worse than anything we could ever imagine having control of the world, absolute authoritarian rule.

    In China there is no dissent against internet censorship, because they still remember Tiananmen Square, and there has always been de facto Internet censorship in China in the first place, so there is no Internet freedom to lose.

    As always it will be we the people that will to usher in the change necessary to restore our environments and the places in which we live.

    People must realize that they are letting their governments rule them and act out atrocity in their names. It will be up to them to hold their government to account.

    Government should be created through the rule of law that ensures that the welfare of the people are the prime responsibility of government. Once those the rule of law becomes corrupted the will of the people has become subsumed.

    Perhaps the US could employ a policy like China where anyone that questions the prerogatives of the government can be sent back to school where they are taught to see their government as the benefactor of mankind.

    Maybe those cartoons like Pinky and the Brain were designed to get us to accept megalomania as a normal personality trait, and kind of comical at that.

    China is actually far far more powerful than the United States, economically and soon militarily, it is just that the entire world hasn’t come to realize that yet. China has for the most part only reeked destruction on their own country in the drive to extract rare minerals from their countryside in order to supply the world with iPhones and Androids. Once the United States is out of the way, you can bet that China will pick up where the United States left off in order to protect their newly acquired global empire.

          I met a woman that immigrated from Korea who said she immigrated to the United States because she thought the United States was like this great Disney Land. I have met others that said that they saw the United States as a country where their rights would be respected.

          So all I am saying here was that there was the perception that the United States was the beacon of hope for the world. What people were hoping for is that democracy was actually practiced in the United States, because where they came from, it wasn’t practiced at all, this include a lot of people from China.

    I was reading a Matt Tabbi article the other day illustrating the concept of bickering over the dishes in the burning house as woke culture reframed as what was called successor ideology. Its a basic bureaucratic mechanism where to justify funding for a non profit dedicated to addressing some social need, there is a pressure on identifying the next frontlines so to speak and agitating people in that direction with ever changing lexicon, talking points, pop up redlines etc. It taps into American cultural values highly shaped by decades of media which drive people toward extremes as a way to be noticed by causing a reaction. Plus as a competition for a fixed pool of donation dollars, its easy to see how the house on fire issues are minimized and the extremely dishearteningly and extraordinarily ironic divide and conquer mentality has fully appropriated the initial instincts that drive people towards such social work.
    Part of it is people see this as the one area where you can be funded to do the work that makes you feel good about your contribution to the country, so its easy to miss the cumulative effect of rapture like alienation among the people not privy to the daily memos of talking points among the elite awoke professional class. And what works better for the oligarchy than the working class being totally alienated, driven into a somehow more welcoming Republican party which somehow managed to significantly increase support for Trump (in general and notably among minorities) after 4 years of him being fairly intolerable. He was the antiestablishment candidate after Bernie was redlined by the DNC in the primaries and people still choose Trump in 2016 despite his voluminous personal and ethical lapses because he was perceived as the outsider despite being extremely wealthy and being famous to some extent only for being rich for the last 35 years or so. Its like our world is being organized by sadistic sitcom writers where the only people laughing are them at all of us.

Therefore, what specific tools and behavior can citizens employ to patch the hull of the Titanic — in other words, to replace the present monsters in public office with people who are not monsters? Again, the answer/behavior is remarkably simple, but oligarchs will spend literally billions to make sure millions of people do not do what must be done in the voting booth.     The media is not serving government, the government is serving the owners of the media, the owners of the banks, the owners of nearly everything. Government is a tool that needs to be taken away from the oligarchs and put in the hands of democratically elected government. We need to take the money power away from the elite’s banking system now dominating government and get it back in the hands of a people’s government at whatever level we can.

       And all they would have to do is get 51% to agree, and they would be right back in business. if a local private bank proposed to operate the way the Fed does, it would have no customers. Its the centralized banking system that’s the problem, and it’s a product of government, while at the same time government is its tool, and vice versa. Gang rape is democracy in action.

    You know I had tons of laughs when I read this: “Please Xi Jinping I am Catalina23571956 (0 followers) we need immediate military intervention in America”. It’s kind of “okay, let’s try to do the same narrative in the same way but in the opposite direction”. And hell, yea, the villain in those movies, the empire, always win at the end. Mildly putting, US empire is Thanos in Marvel avengers movies. Deciding who gets to live or to die. Let’s say someone come up with a bright new idea about the nature of the state. Let’s name it just for fun, mockerism. Mockerism is a threat to the US empire. Mockerism governments will suffer economic sanctions as long as it exists. It’s faded to die before the mother can give birth. No one will ever see how it could have been without someone bullying the newborn since the first day. Of course it is a bad picture to see. It’s a monster. It’s evil. No one can go till there transporting supplies and medications to not get the idea of the picture. You might get infected. Only when they give up we will let you go there with our media to see how happy they are to see us bringing our way of living. The narrative and history repeats itself in nasty ironical ways. But just because the pen is hold by the same hand since the beginning. The story is more truer than the truth if can keep telling it without opposition. People like those coming here on this blog are similar to those persecuted by the Vatican for not recognizing the Roman church as the new religious power. Entire civilizations were burned to the ground for that. America spent all resources to succeed in this actual geopolitical course of action. There is no gong back for them. If they cannot move on with their agenda they will lose everything. The creditors will just move on to another country and opportunities. All military bases will become rubbles and a bad memory of a megalomaniac post WWII ambition.

My closest acquaintances think I’m a weird conspiracies wacko because all of my views are influenced by the shitstorm NONE of them WANT to comprehend. Truly a Perfect Storm: -0.1%ers, late stage capitalism, a psycho dieing Empire, enviro collapse, A.I, Nano, 3D printing of EVERYTHING, spike protein future cost, total surveillance, State digital “currencies”, Gates patented food groups, pesticides, plummeting sperm count worldwide… crikey, I won’t talk to me!

    The Empire’s goal is to survive, and its looking more and more like it won’t, due to the self inflicted destruction of its money. It’s a dying beast and it knows it. Which is why the big push for globalism, to give them a rabbit hole to escape to. Unfortunately for the rest of the species, no beast is more dangerous than when facing its own extinction. Oh you CAN trust the US government. To destroy whatever it perceives as the tiniest threat to its empire, by the most violent means available.

          Yes, so true. The money power IS the power to govern but this private money power only governs to enrich and empower itself. They’ve led the world into a nearly 300 trillion dollar debt, which represents the scale of the industrialized assault on our Earth life support systems.

          We need to replace our existing government so we can replace their private debt-based monetary system with an equity-based public money system. To achieve this, federal legislation is needed that: Requires Congress to be the sole creator of all U.S. money debt-free, as authorized in the U.S Constitution; Ends the privilege of commercial banks to create money; and transfers all remaining operations of the Federal Reserve System to the US Treasury, accountable to the public.

          The legislation is already written. It was introduced to Congress in 2011 and was of course ignored, never getting out of committee.
          A tall order, however, the system change required to turn this rig around must be as great as the catastrophe we are facing.

          However, money plays two roles; 1. An exchange medium (it is just money) and 2. An instrument of power (the hidden hand).

          It is that we have made money a commodity, a store of value, that creates the power role of money. This legislation changes all existing US Fed money into US Money, reclaiming our exchange medium, but it does not address the hoarding of money for speculation and power. To do that we need to implement a demurrage fee on the money, making it decline in value over time so that the hoards of money will have to be spent or it is lost.

          We all just need to get on the same page about the money.

             All government, each and every one, is founded on the notion that it has authority to kill you if you don’t go along. How do you think such a thing as a central bank came about? The US had one briefly in the early 1800s, and then didn’t have one again until 1913, when the Fed was established. Which eventually succeeded in gaining authority to create money out of thin air, and loan it out at interest. Technically a private bank.

             Seems to me you’re advocating a ‘top down’ approach which is OK as far as it goes but good luck with that since the top seems to be as corrupt as can be. Don’t forget there’s a ‘bottom up’ approach as well, Ithaca Hours, for example. I feel we need Peoples’ Congresses to get out of the political [party] quagmire we find ourselves in. A Peoples’ Bank would doubtless follow and usury would become extinct rather than we humans. Jeremy Corbyn seemed to be wanting to try the ‘top down’ approach https://edm.parliament.uk/early-day-motion/46238 but the establishment soon put a stop to that with utter ruthlessness. That’s what we’re up against.
