Just wanted everyone on my mailing list to know that our aforementioned housing dilemma is no longer a problem; a stack of miracles came through and we’ve found a nice and affordable place to live. We’ll still be renting, but it’s a good place for me and Tim and the kids and we’re all happy about it. We move in next month.

I’ll probably be a bit busy with the move for the next few weeks, especially the first part of January which will be hectic, so apologies if my output gets a little sparse at times through that period but that’s why. I’m really looking forward to having this done and being able to put all of my creativity back where it belongs.

Thank you all for how supportive you’ve been during this time. I feel really blessed to have such wonderful readers and supporters.

  1. Best of luck to you guys Caitlin. I moved furniture as a job for several summers and family and friends as a volunteer a bunch of times, I’ve learned there’s something magical about the number five. 5 people working on moving day feels like almost twice as many as 4. I’ve never been sure exactly why, but it is. Last tested the effect in May in 90+ degree weather and it went super fast.

Your work is a constant source of nourishment to so many people. Here’s hoping your new shelter nurtures your creativity and spirit. Best of luck.

  2. Good to know you have found a place. I listen to all your and Tim’s podcasts and enjoy your point of view.

  3. Hi Caitlin and Tim

Another brilliant year of receiving your emails, thanks – hope all goes well for you and the kids with the move.

    Best wishes
    Phil

  5. Joy, peace, and love in your new year to you and yours, Caitlin, just as you have given those to us.

  7. Good luck!
Moving can be really traumatic (not nearly as traumatic as being homeless, though…).
Hope it all goes smoothly and that you all manage to enjoy the festive season, somehow.

  8. Hi, Caitlin! i’ve been following you for a few years but never commented here, I think. But when I saw this email, I just felt like saying I’m happy for you! Housing difficulties are soul crushing, I actually felt relief knowing you finally found your new place.

  11. Happy new… era :o)

  12. Splendid! I was worried that you and the family would end up in some awful place with freight trains roaring by every 20 minutes and shipping portals with moving vans and meth dealers and guns going off and…nah, you’d live outside first.
Happiest of holidays to you, Tim and the kids!

  13. That’s lovely to hear, so pleased for you et al. Here’s to a productive 2022 and you in full flight again! ❤️

Well done for tenacity Caitlin & thanks for your loyalty to the poor and disenfranchised people of this wretchedly abused Earth. Enjoy the move and the new beginning and don’t worry about output. It’ll come when you are ready. As the dogs of war are being unleashed you seem to be one of the few who is even barking about it. Pity we didn’t descend from Bonobos instead of aggressive Chimps. Oh well Happy New Year. dónal

  31. Dear Caitlin,

I’m so happy you found a good place. I was starting to worry, especially with all the bad news coming out of Australia. I love your writing, but you deserve a break. Take all the time you need, and take some time to just relax and enjoy the move. We’ll be here when you get back online. You look just like my sister in that pic with Tim kissing your head. Makes it even easier to love you. Thanks so much for what you do.

  32. Wonderful! Keep on Caitlin!

  33. Good news Caitlin.
A ‘Christmas’ list for you and yours:
•Cardboard boxes from op shops, supermarkets, friends, and dare I say it, Bunnings (reasonably priced).
    • Old pillow cases.
    • Sturdy reusable plastic bags.
    • Masking tape in a dispenser.
    • Labels or a texta pen.
    • Helping hands.
    • Stretching exercises before lifting.
    • Plenty of water.
    • Patience, tolerance and a sense of humour
    • Plenty of sleep.

We moved a year ago after twenty years in the bush. The shit we accumulated !! Bloody hell.

Wish more people could read you in Germany.

  52. Hi Caitlin,

Here’s wishing you the most successful move. It seems that the Universe was paying attention. I’m a firm believer that the Universe provides, though it may only be the raw materials.

Suggestion: get rid of everything you can. This is an opportunity to clear your your past, but be sure to take the children’s toys…or at least their favorites. Nothing like a move to offer an opportunity for a “clean start.”

You are an amazing and talented individual, whose voice is essential. May it be heard everywhere at this time of need.

    Continue to nurture your goodness,

    Jeff

  53. I’m glad you found a place you like. Take some time off. You’ve earned it many times over. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

  54. Congratulations! Take your time and get settled. And thank you for every word you write, and for being who you are. Wishing you and yours the very best!

  55. I do enjoy your take on the world and events, and your writing style. As to moving house – well, I’ve always found it can be fun, in retrospect. Best of luck with your move and we’ll see you when your cursor’s found a power-point. Cheers!

  56. Congratulations! What a relief it must be. Great way to start the new year. Best wishes!

  57. All the best for you and family in your new home .

  58. Congrats, Caitlin… hope all goes well. Cheers to you and your family.

  59. Thanks for the update! I was freaking out for you and your family. Happy Christmas and New Year to you all!

  60. Best wishes. Thanks for your insight and writing.

We have moved quite a few times, so I will encourage you to get rid of stuff you don’t use anymore that are still in boxes from your last move!

    Well, that was our experience.
