Listen to a reading of this article:

The Ukrainian-born MSNBC favorite Alexander Vindman, best known for his role in the Trump impeachment, has informed the network’s viewership that we are almost certainly on the cusp of a war with Russia comparable to World War II.

“I think we’re basically just on the cusp of war,” the retired lieutenant colonel told MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace on Friday. “I think it’s all but certain in my mind that there’s going to be a large European war on the order of magnitude of World War II, with air power, sea power, massive ground force offensives, and my concern right now is making sure that the United States is postured for that outcome. I think there’s little to be done to avoid it at this point.”

Rather than yell and scream like a normal human being at Vindman’s incendiary claims about a near-certain world war against a nuclear superpower, Wallace merely asked Vindman to clarify that he did indeed believe it’s a foregone conclusion that there is going to be a military confrontation with Russia on the level of the second world war. Vindman maintained throughout the appearance that there was going to be a war with Russia, that it would be large, that it would involve Ukraine, and that Russia would be the aggressor.

“I hope to God I’m wrong,” Vindman said at the end of the segment. “But I’m willing to go ahead and raise this alarm, put my credibility on the line, to make sure that people are paying attention.”

This massive claim should be treated very seriously. It should be treated seriously not because it’s well-founded (Moon of Alabama explains that Moscow has no good reason to launch an unprovoked attack on Ukraine and war is entirely avoidable, and Kiev is telling the public to stop worrying about a Russian invasion), but because there’s no way for this claim not to be a big deal.

Think about it. If Vindman’s claims are true then we should all be running around like our hair is on fire demanding our governments move heaven and earth to prevent this horror from being unleashed upon our world. If his claims are not true then a US news network just aired brazen disinformation about a matter of unparalleled importance, and ironically did so right after the US State Department published a lengthy report on the dangers of Russian disinformation on RT and Sputnik (which was in turn ironic because, as The Dissident explains, the report is itself packed full of disinfo).

Fellow virulent Russia hawk Michael McFaul appeared in the same MSNBC segment as Vindman but took a less hysterical approach, saying he doesn’t know what Putin is going to do. McFaul said that between doing nothing and launching a full-scale ground invasion Putin also has options like “cyber attacks, limited aircraft attacks, artillery attacks, seizing Donbass, attacking and then retreating without bringing any soldiers in.” McFaul later claimed that Biden was too focused on opposing China during his first year in office, causing the Russia situation to get out of control.

“I am very prepared to just flat-out state that we are on the cusp of war,” Vindman countered in disagreement with his fellow propagandist, citing as evidence a movement of Russian troops into western Russia while conveniently omitting the fact that thousands of them have since withdrawn from the area.

Nothing either of these clowns say should be taken as true; any random schmuck off the street would be better-qualified to offer opinions on Russia than dopey mainstream liberal pundits who’ve spent the last five years being consistently wrong about that nation. But we should take very seriously the fact that they are working to insert these narratives into public consciousness.

To my knowledge Russian state media have not been telling Russians that a world war between nuclear-armed nations is “all but certain”. To the best of my knowledge only western propagandists are indoctrinating westerners with such madness. You can learn a lot by simply watching who is pushing what narrative.

The idea that it’s already too late to stop a world war-level conflict with a nuclear superpower is profoundly dangerous. If the public can be manipulated into accepting this as fact then their priorities shift from insisting that their leaders prevent this unthinkable event from being inflicted upon our world to supporting whatever might protect them and their loved ones from being destroyed by it. We collapse into the same learned helplessness we’re trained to sink into when we’re told that a given political candidate is inevitable or a given grassroots effort is doomed to fail.

And if that mind virus does take hold we may be certain that the same brainwashed human livestock who’ve been scoffing at us for warning that all the cold war escalations over these last few years can lead to hot war will be the very first to doublethink their way into a complete cognitive 180 and begin assuring us that hot war is inevitable so there’s no use trying to prevent it.

Someone benefits from all this, and it isn’t you.

This comes as withered gerontocrats in the US government bravely proclaim that it’s time to give Putin a “bloody nose” over the latest tensions. It comes as tons of US-supplied weapons pour into Ukraine, and it comes as the US president himself announces that he believes a Russian invasion of Ukraine is likely. These people are playing games with the lives of everyone on our planet, and they don’t even seem to understand that that’s what they’re doing.

This is so, so dangerous, and there don’t seem to be any adults behind the wheel. We’re being pied pipered off a precipice from which there is no return by blind men with their hands in their pants.

We the citizens of this planet cannot allow this to continue. We’ve got to find some way to stop these pricks.

  1. The disciples asked Jesus an interesting question: “Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall begin to be fulfilled?” (Mark 13:4, Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition) He answered: “But ye will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that ye be not disturbed; for all [these things] must take place, but it is not yet the fulfillment [of the sign].” (Matthew 24:6) The global nuclear war, (this will be the fulfillment of the sign of Jesus), will start with an ethnic conflict: “For nation will rise against nation”, like as in 2008 in Georgia. (Matthew 24:7) In the Book of Daniel we read: “At the appointed time [the king of the north] will return back [it also means the break-up of the EU and NATO. Many countries of the former Eastern block will return to a military alliance with Russia], and will enter into the south [this will be the beginning of the WW3], but it will not be as the former [Georgia – 2008] or as the latter [Ukraine], for the dwellers of coastlands of Kittim [the distant West] will come against him, and (he) will broke down [mentally], and will go back.” (11:29, 30a) This will be a mutual slaughter. The “great power sword” will also be used. (Revelation 6:4) Jesus characterized him in this way: “A frightening things both and extraordinary from sky powerful will be.” There will be also significant tremors along the length and breadth of the regions [of strategic importance] and famines, and pestilences. (Luke 21:11) Some ancient manuscripts contain the words “and frosts”. The Aramaic Peshitta: “and will be great frosts”. We call this today “nuclear winter”. In Mark 13:8 there are also words of Jesus: “and disorders” (in the sense of confusion and chaos). The Aramaic Peshitta: “and confusion” (on the state of public order). Jesus stated: “All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.” (Matthew 24:8) But is there any point in speeding it all up?

  2. One thing that rampaging war mongers never think of before they start the shooting and commit to a “fight to the finish” is how, exactly, do they intend to end the damned war and extricate themselves without lasting damage to their society and humiliation before the entire world when things inevitably go a cropper and they wish they had not been so gung-ho seeking glory and conquest? In this particular fight between the American egomaniacs and a Russian people they consider inferior and incapable of ever defeating them (recall Obama’s endless trash talk when he started all this), I fear that an inexorable escalation will lead to a thermonuclear ending for all of civilisation. Washington’s “friends” and “allies,” like Germany and France (Britain has a death wish), had better talk them out of this or the entire world will pay the price.

  3. https://ibb.co/tqKGL2w

Still more believable than the mainstream mass media today.

  4. I’ve heard suggestions that The West and Russia are already secretly aligned in the goal of removing China’s sovereignty by provoking war. There is the possibility that this possible Russia/Ukraine war will be a false flag aimed at Russia getting China’s military support and involvement. Which in turn may give the West the justification (to the general public) that they have been trying to manufacture, at least since covid, to attack China. Nothing surprises me anymore when it come to the lengths the military industrial complex would go to, to secure global monopolies.

  5. I don’t think Putin ever had any intention of invading Ukraine. The first build up was simply to dissuade Zelensky from a mass attack on the break away regions. Western propaganda including both Europe and the USA has reached hysterical levels with even the Swedes moving troops into a sparsely populated rock which they call an island in the Baltic Sea to you know give the Russians a lesson. War will not depend on what Putin does, but what the pricks in the West do. I have no clue what the deranged war mongers will do. I am not sure what they will do as its dawning on some of them that the sanctions they purpose will ruin Europe and the US, and the Russian military can beat any NATO force fighting them at borders edge.

  6. This is the way:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velvet_Revolution

When you think about all the reasons why it can’t happen here, couldn’t happen today, it shows what changes to make it possible.

  7. Perhaps it’s just a simple case of thanatophobia among the gerontocracy Caitlin.
No more authority or control, no more fame, no more possessions, no more sex slaves, no more booze, no more drugs, no more gluttony, no more breathing. Forever.
They want to go out on a high. And what could be higher than WW3 ?
When you can’t have it all, then fuck it ! Nobody will.

    1. ” … withered gerontocrats in the US government bravely proclaim … ”
Are those the same ones that cowered in fear under their desks when a bunch of agitated citizens showed up at their door demanding to know what the fuck was going on in their once democratic country?
They are always boldest and most emphatic with OPSaD—Other People’s Sons and Daughters.
May they be damn for eternity

  8. One thing all these modern wars have in common, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen is they were all for nothing except misery, death, disease, destruction. There’s no gain of anything for anyone involved except perhaps for manufacturers of armaments and upper echelon military personal. It’s all just paranoia and waste on an unfathomable scale.

    1. Actually they were all for OIL !

Bombing ME countries for OIL has been the umbilical cord of the ZIO/US economy for more than 80 years !

ZIO/US and other western nations expected they could could keep their OIL dependent economies going forever on STOLEN OIL – the main reason the ZIO/US and NATO militaries exist !
Russia has stopped the FREE OIL SCAM and Venezuela was their WATERLOO !

There is NO more FREE OIL !

And THAT is why western economies are shutting down under the guise of COVID !

Russia has been building NG pipelines for over 30 years !
They KNEW this day was coming !

      1. It has been said so many times that ME wars were for oil, it is strange why we have to point to that elephant in the room.
Venezuela is thought to have #1 largest oil reserves in the world, so they are a target of the US “foreign policy” .

  9. Alexander Vindman is one of those dudes who give warmongering psychopaths a bad name. But it must be acknowledged that he’s got a sense of humor when he says: “I hope to God I’m wrong but I’m willing to go ahead and raise this alarm, put my credibility on the line, to make sure that people are paying attention.” Put his credibility on the line… I’m asking you… Having less credibility than Alexander Vindman is beyond human reach. Hercules himself, if sounded out, would decline. Instead of inviting Alexander Vindman to “cassandre” in the box, MSNBC might as well put on Bozo the Clown. He’d look more believable. You only had to see Vindman in full military gear, with his medals and all, at the impeachment trial! What did he think it was, Carnival? Did he hope to impress some long-legged carioca with his Martian outfit – martial, marshall? Even some commentators on his side of the aisle suggested that he might be overdoing it a shade. Already then, the guy was going to war. With his elected president no less, can’t make that stuff up! To save the world, with no doubt a pocket edition of Don Quixote on his bedside table, next to the quintessential Superman. Of course the shady dealings, in his native Ukraine, of Biden Inc. and then, after the election, of the US embassy busy defining with George Soros the US foreign policy behind the back of the president who’d been elected by half the American people to do that – even if it was the “basket of deplorables” half who technically shouldn’t be allowed to breathe because of their wrongthink – had nothing to do with it – or with the fact that he freaked out when Trump asked Zelensky to have a look into the matter because people were talking. Yikes! And then Vindman got a DIY kit and manufactured a mystery whistleblower who never saw the light of day thanks to Adam Schiff and never actually heard anything himself but was told by none other than… Alexander Vindman, who’d listened in on the call, that… well Orange Man Bad and that’s the end of that! Let’s burn him! He was lucky that all the deep state’s horses and all of the deep state’s men came out of the woodwork to back him! This dude couldn’t have credibility if he started practicing 24/7. If you were sitting on a railway track and he shouted to you that a train was coming full speed behind your back, you wouldn’t even turn around! That’s how bad it is… So if Alexander Vindman thinks that putting [his] “credibility on the line” will “make sure that people are paying attention” beyond Raytheon headquarters’ parking lot, he only buttresses the notion that he’s delusional beyond repair and should enroll on a strict fitness & diet program to make sure he can run fast enough, when two white coats knock on his door, to dodge the straitjacket :o)

    1. Yes yes yes to all of that. It beggars belief.

  10. If those Russia haters had to be the first ones to run into enemy fire they would be singing a very different tune. https://www.theonion.com/new-nfl-military-partnership-sends-first-1-000-fans-to-1848392989

  11. We are already in the final stages of WW3 and the ZIO/US/NATO LOST !

Since Russia entered Syria in 2015 400 THOUSAND ZIO/US/NATO/ISIS terrorists have DIED !

What could the ZIO/US/NATO do about it ?? Absolutely NOTHING !

The Taliban retook Kabul in ONE week – bloodlessly and unopposed !

If you think that was organic – you would be NAIVE – Russia and China were performing ‘drills’ on the Afghan border at the time !

Russia can ‘disable’ anything the ZIO/US/NATO has and they will do the same thing in Ukraine !

This is ‘hybrid’ WAR and the ZIO/US/NATO are virtually impotent !

What you ARE witnessing is the fall of the ZIO/US empire who won’t risk being openly humiliated !

    It’s OVER !

    1. I am going to have to educate myself on “hybrid war”, I do not know. However, I think the US also lost its ideological war on communism, inside the US’s own borders.
Because the MIC (including Congress and its new appendages such as Intelligence) sucked the funding out of the US’s educational system for 3/4 century now, they effectively turned teachers into the proletariat.
Logically, the teachers had to start teaching the fundamentals of communism in schools. I think they communism is winning in the public opinion -this is why we hear so much from MSM that communism is bad. People can see that China has done well economically, so again have to be told that communism is bad.
Also, happening now and being explained as effects of the COVID pandemic, I think perhaps many people in the US are already refusing to work for the existing (capitalist?) system. It is being called the Great Resignation, or “nobody wants to work”.

    2. “The idea that it’s already too late to stop a world war-level conflict with a nuclear superpower is profoundly dangerous. If the public can be manipulated into accepting this as fact then their priorities shift from insisting that their leaders prevent this unthinkable event from being inflicted upon our world to supporting whatever might protect them and their loved ones from being destroyed by it.”

That’s exactly what they have been doing with this pandemic. Instead of treatment, mandating emergency vaccines that don’t even work and have risks.

  12. ………
    ..
“The idea that it’s already too late to stop a world war-level conflict with a nuclear superpower is profoundly dangerous. If the public can be manipulated into accepting this as fact then their priorities shift from insisting that their leaders prevent this unthinkable event from being inflicted upon our world to supporting whatever might protect them and their loved ones from being destroyed by it. We collapse into the same learned helplessness we’re trained to sink into when we’re told that a given political candidate is inevitable or a given grassroots effort is doomed to fail.”
    ….
    ….
“We the citizens of this planet cannot allow this to continue. We’ve got to find some way to stop these pricks.

    ________

And just exactly WHAT is that “some way to stop these pricks” that we, the citizens of this planet, going to be? Should we all pick up a gun? Should we guillotine some VIPs? Should we march hand in hand down Penn. Ave. forever and demand, demand, demand that the Elite behave better, or else? (“or else” just exactly WHAT?!)

Here’s what “we” — each and every one of us — are eventually going to HAVE TO DO because

there. is. no. other. way. to remove 536 Rs and Ds from the federal government’s elected seats of power. (If you know of another way, please spell it out, right here, right now and, BTW, wishing upon a star, dream, dream, dreaming; hoping and praying and deep, deep, deep self-study and drug-trips are not going to do that job.)

And, as Caitlin points out so well, please do not “collapse into the same learned helplessness we’re trained to sink into when we’re told that a given political candidate is inevitable or a given grassroots effort is doomed to fail”. For example, because it hasn’t happened in recent history, how can each of us know with absolute certainty that electing candidates from a third or a fourth or a hundredth new polticial party will not result in a political/economic/social situation any better than the present one? — a “gut feeling”, “I just know”? The correct answer is that we can’t know. The outcome of electing other parties’ candidates is NOT the equivalent of the near-ceratain result of jumping naked off a 100-storey building and hitting a concrete sidewalk. Billions are about to be spent to make you think that it is. Will those billions once again be successful………..be money well spent by the Elite?

Therefore, if you do not want More Of The Same that you’ve gotten after every election in the past, do not vote for another R or D, ever, no matter what an R or D promises! Jimmy Dore explains EXACTLY why.

    1. So are you saying the “something” we must do is create and install a third party? That is the solution to Russia/Ukraine crisis? (I became an Independent this year btw. Could no longer stomach being a registered Dem.)

  13. The Ukraine septic system is primarily about these factors:
(not necessarily in order of importance)
    :
    1) MIC or MICC (Military-Industrial-Congressional Complex) selling weapons for big bucks $$$
    :
    2) The placement, by the US, of offensive weapons near the Russian border (in Donbas)
    :
    3) The status quo – getting the people useful to the MIC elected (either by a foreign policy success for the Democrats in Ukraine – have Putin “back down” from his so-called invasion of Ukraine – or create an environment so hostile to Russia that the gravy train continues for the need for “defensive” weapons no matter who is in office).
    :
    4) Kiev regime wants to ethnically cleanse the Donbass
    :

  14. A possible explanation of who is benefiting from various gerontocrats announcing inevitability of nuclear war with Russia.
The US is undergoing Nuclear Arsenal Modernization, that right now is estimated to cost $2 trillion. The Feds cannot print more USD because inflation is already estimated to be at 10%.
Then, the US Congress has to either add the cost to the budget deficit for Americans to pay for, or they have to go with a war at another country to recover that cost, and perhaps both.
This maybe why we are made to believe that we are already living the war. So we do not make a mistake of thinking that we have any choice in the matter.
Quoting teachings of Katie Byron, it take only one person to make peace, can this person be you?

  15. America is always happy to bomb and ruin other countries, as long as it is not on their own soil. And the people do not mind. This would change fast if rockets hit american cities.

  16. I am a born US citizen. I can speak to the anger and frustration felt by many of my fellow-citizens as they watch an oligarch-controlled political duopoly continue to masquerade as a democracy while continuing to slop the largest hog at the trough of taxpayer funding. I cannot become a big-shot politician and even if I could my voice would be drowned by the beholden servants surrounding me; I cannot solve anything by writing letters to an editor or carrying around a sign. I cannot Believe that after Korea, Vietnam, El Salvador, Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan, not to mention quit a few others, my fellow Americans are allowing themselves to be led to yet another slaughter and failed attempt at propping up the empire. I also cannot place my faith in ‘journalists’ because for the most part they work for the Masters and if not are under tight control and financial obligation to their bosses that do. Journalists such as Caitlin Johnstone are few, far between, and much needed. And even here in comments on Caitlyn’s article about the foolhardiness of acquiescence in our own doom, we have cultists proclaiming that a different and overtly-narcissistic pervert of an oligarch named Trump is gonna save us. Jesus, I despair of humans. All I can say at this point is Good Riddance. Time for God or whatever to start over. Maybe cockroaches will have more common sense and decency toward their own kind.

    1. You are onto something very significant here! Insects survived previous 3 mass extinctions. If they can survive the 6th one, they may give rise to the new civilization. I am rooting for the insects!

      https://www.newscientist.com/article/mg13918863-000-science-insects-are-immune-to-mass-extinctions/

        1. I was also wondering about that: I read that the insect apocalypse is already here and of course pesticides kill bugs.
I think the researchers are talking about insects surviving previous extinctions due to natural disasters, not man-made.
Quick google search indicates high radiation resistance in at least some insects.

    2. ” I cannot Believe that after Korea, Vietnam, El Salvador, Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan, not to mention quit a few others, my fellow Americans are allowing themselves to be led to yet another slaughter and failed attempt at propping up the empire.”
      :
It does boggle the mind. But the answer is straightforward: Indoctrination. We Americans are deeply indoctrinated.
      :
Have to ask you. I searched the previous posts and I found nothing that fits your description.
“And even here in comments … we have cultists proclaiming that a different and overtly-narcissistic pervert of an oligarch named Trump is gonna save us.”
      :

      1. Oh, Trump was mentioned a few times later in Comments. I saw him mentioned as someone who opposes the Deep State policies. I feel it is an error to consider Trump opposed to policies of the folks that selected him. He is and was merely a trial balloon sent aloft by the oligarchy to see just how far Americans had (have) been brainwashed, and what they could get away with without facing a revolt of some sort. Trump has merely accelerated the fall into fascism that had begun by the end of WWII, when the MIC got seriously hooked on the profit-potential of war and decided they had had enough of nuisances like Eugene Debs, FDR (‘traitor to his class’), anti-war hippies during the Vietnam era, and so on. Certainly, one can go back or forward in history and pick other inflection points. An informative peek into the ruling class’ military cash cow was provided by Gen. Smedley Darlington Butler’s classic book ‘War is a Racket’, written in the early 30’s. Back to the present, the CIA has had its dark ops budget (an unknowable secret figure) and behaviors approved by congress for a while now, the DOD has its untouchable ‘must pass’ budget securely approved by congress and both parties, civil rights and human rights have been redefined and reduced sufficiently, the police have been militarized, prisons transferred to private hands and unaccountable to direct government oversight, and a source of more ‘donations’ as well. One could go on- for example border controls and walls to keep us in as well as fresh eyes and brains out, limp response to infectious disease, inflation-as-policy, and much much more. So the oligarchs are all set to take full unbreakable control. Trump was not materially different in his actual performance of ‘duties’ from Biden after him or Obombya, Clinton, Bushes 1 and 1/2, Ford, Nixon, and on back through Johnson and Kennedy. These folks have been well-coached to say what we wish to hear, and their mistakes and blunders are covered up as if they never happened, while our emotions are being played like a fiddle by the oligarchy-owned lame stream media. It does appear to some observers that our masters want us to die off in massive numbers, as that will free up more dollars and resources for them that had been wasted on such trivial pursuits as education, environmental protection, scientific research, public health, etc. I agree with some commenters that the 536 mis-‘representatives’ in Congress will Never yield their power and privilege, their sons and daughters won’t have to die in the next war, and we might as well do what needs to be done. I admit right here, though, that I’m too old and out of condition to be carrying my pitchfork into the fray. The best thing I know to do is try to disinvest and deny as many contributions to the perma-war economy as I can, and speak out.

    3. America is always happy to bomb and ruin other countries, as long as it is not on their own soil. And the people do not mind. This would change fast if rockets hit american cities.

      1. I do not think so- Americans finally took notice of some of the (rest of the) world’s bad actors after 9/11, and the oligarchy got 20 years of war out of it. In fact, I believe we can expect some false-flag actions in order to get us into more war, but, failing that, they will still serve nicely to continue propping up the dual obscenities of the Patriot act and the unlimited military budget..

    4. I think there may be one place you’re wrong. You imply that this suicidal stupidity is human nature. But I think the evidence is that most human groups were egalitarian and mostly peaceful until civilization happened, and enabled the sociopaths to take control. All this madness and destruction is coming not from “humanity” but from one toxic culture”-one which has successfully used violence to fend off any attempts to thwart its expansion, for thousands of years–it has now taken over virtually the entire Earth. Two of its favorite tricks, passed down from generation to generation of its ruling class, are to create groups of young males of the subject class and indoctrinate them into blind obedience, so the will put down any resistance, and the ole divide and conquer. Currently in the US we have a Red Team and a Blue Team, each passionately involved in fighting the enemy–the other team, while ignoring the ruling class that is fucking us all over. It’s going to get very nasty around the mid-term elections and worse in 2024, and yet–if you ignore all that rhetoric and look at the POLICY–it hasn’t changed significantly, Clinton to Bush (Cheney) to Obama to Trump to Biden. These guys don’t make policy, and Congress does what its funders want, which differs little between the two allowed parties. We who engage in the culture wars are suckers.

  17. This is a warning to everyone in the west. Go out and buy some extra toilet paper right now. Seriously though, this guy is just a tool for Kiev. They think such talk will give Russia second thoughts. The US will do nothing if Russia invades Ukraine but watch and wring their hands. Russia has Europe by the short hairs since Europe would freeze if their energy supply was cut off.

  18. If the Sacklers didn’t already convince you, it is achingly obvious that the elites will sacrifice the rest of us for money without even a second thought.

I wish my fellow Europeans would tell their leaders to get a f*cking grip, and realise that if there is a war it will once again devastate Europe, not America, which is hell bent on starting a war with Russia via its proxy Ukraine.

The head of Nato forces in the EU has already marked out Romania and Bulgaria in supporting roles logistically for Ukraine in other words these two European countries will become staging posts, it would be understandable if Putin attacked both these countries as well.

In war common sense goes out the window, and if Russia finds itself near defeat nuclear weapons might, be used if a weakened Russia is attacked by Nato forces post the Ukrainian war. EU countries in Nato could stop this madness right now by refusing to participate, What the f*ck are they thinking, Russia is a fellow European country we should be embracing it not trying to destroy it for the benefit of rampant US capitalism.

  20. Commenting on a previous article, I made an accusation that Sen Wicker is an “idiot.” One of your readers replied that I was wrong in my characterization as Sen wicker is an educated man whose motivations are to support his MIC contributors. Now, I agree this is his motivation for making such outlandish, foolish, and dangerous remarks, but it’s one thing to use your position of power to support the weapons industry and another to believe you can actually engage in a confrontation with an adversary that is armed with state of art nuclear weapons. During the Cold War we held a theory to keep such crazy talk at bay. It was call Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) The man is an idiot!!

Maybe Washington too.. so there won’t be any war.. unless of course its the Elites intention to kill off more Americans that didn’t die fast enough from the jab… which would be strange as who would want to rule over a radiated wasteland?

  22. We can thank your pundit Alexander Vindman for informing us as to what the Deep State calls itself – “Interagency”.

The Deep State (aka Interagency) believes that it and not the President determines foreign policy.

Col Alexander Vindman, as you may recall from Ukrainegate, was the primary witness testifying before Congress
in the attempt by Democrats (and the Interagency string pullers) to impeach President Trump.

Sorry for the length of the quote, but it is so so enlightening.
    :

    4) Vindman was a creature of a bureaucracy that has often opposed Trump. In his testimony, Vindman’s perspective could be mind-numbingly bureaucratic. One of his favorite words is “interagency,” by which he means the National Security Council’s role in coordinating policy among the State Department, Defense Department, the Intelligence Community, the Treasury Department, and the White House. His bible is something known as NSPM-4, or National Security Presidential Memorandum 4. He says things such as, “So I hold at my level sub-PCCs, Deputy Assistant Secretary level. PCCs are my boss, senior director with Assistant Secretaries. DCs are with the deputy of the National Security Council with his deputy counterparts within the interagency.” He believes the interagency has set a clear U.S. policy toward Ukraine.
    :
“You said in your opening statement, or you indicated at least, that there’s a fairly consensus policy within the interagency towards Ukraine,” Democratic counsel Daniel Goldman said to Vindman. “Could you just explain what that consensus policy is, in your own words?”
    :
“What I can tell you is, over the course of certainly my tenure there, since July 2018, the interagency, as per normal procedures, assembles under the NSPM-4, the National Security Policy [sic] Memorandum 4, process to coordinate U.S. government policy,” Vindman said. “We, over the course of this past year, probably assembled easily a dozen times, certainly at my level, which is called a subpolicy coordinating committee — and that’s myself and my counterparts at the Deputy Assistant Secretary level — to discuss our views on Ukraine.”
    :
That is a classic bureaucrat’s view of government and the world. Needless to say, Trump does not do that sort of thing. The president is remarkably freewheeling, unbureaucratic, and certainly not always consistent when it comes to making policy. But he generally has a big goal in mind, and in any event, he is the president of the United States. He, not the interagency, sets U.S. foreign policy.
    :
Still, Vindman was deeply upset when Trump, relying on Rudy Giuliani and others, turned his attention to Ukraine. “In the spring of 2019, I became aware of outside influencers promoting a false narrative of Ukraine inconsistent with the consensus views of the interagency,” Vindman said in his opening statement. The outside influencers, he suggested, were undermining the work of his “interagency colleagues.” In the words of the Washington Post, Vindman was “deeply troubled by what he interpreted as an attempt by the president to subvert U.S. foreign policy.”
    :
Vindman’s discussion of the interagency, while dry as dust, might contain the key to his role in the Trump-Ukraine affair. In the last few years, the bureaucracy with which he so clearly identified has often been at odds, sometimes privately and sometimes publicly, with the president. Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, writing in a new book, said two top officials, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and White House chief of staff John Kelly, sought to undermine Trump to “save the country.”
    :
“It was their decisions, not the president’s, that were in the best interest of America, they said,” Haley wrote. “The president didn’t know what he was doing.”
    :
That view extended deep into some areas of the government. Now, parts of the foreign policy bureaucracy are in open war with the president, channeling their grievances through the House Democrats’ drive toward impeachment. When he testifies in public, Vindman will be the living embodiment of that bureaucratic war.

    :
There is now no Trump to challenge the Deep State. The Deep State has their crash-test-dummy Biden.
    :
    A side note, the NSPM-4 ( https://fas.org/irp/offdocs/nspm/nspm-4.pdf )
is the “National Security Presidential Memorandum–4”.
To Vindman, a creature of the Deep State, NSPM-4 is the “National Security Policy Memorandum–4”.
The President has been whited out in the minds of the Deep State.
    :
    The policy is the policy
and, the Deep State believes, the President needs to just get out of the way,
    or be a crash-test-dummy.
    :
    Deep State Motto:
    :
    We only do bad options
    as they lead to failures
    but failures equal victory
    if they are sustainable
(and generate lots of war profits
    and jobs in the Interagency).

    1. It sounds like Vindman is saying he has worked so hard to formulate the US’s Ukraine policy, and Trump ruined it effortlessly, like a bull in a china shop. Then Vindman’s complaining about outside influencers LOL. Basically nobody else’s opinion matters, only Vindman’s own, that he named “Interagency”, and you get that when he says “at my level”.
I am starting to understand why Trump kept firing all these people, the Deep State.

    2. Trump “bad”, Vindman “good”!

  23. When you are a hammer, everything looks like a nail.
Time to stop interviewing ex-military on MSM (they are not the ones who will be exposed to actual fighting). Same goes for any Congressman who serves on the Arms Services Committee. We know what they will say, so why bother asking?
Why dont’ they interview some peace advocate occasionally?
My impression is that Western MSM is actively poshing Ukraine and Russia into a military confrontation, and then somebody from Congress demands “aggressive” action from Biden.
As if US actions internationally are not already aggressive!
The other day when Biden dismissed a (award winning) reporter’s question (what are you waiting for, sir?) as stupid , it caused such a stir. The US is the main driver of international conflicts, it cannot act pre-emptively against itself! The question was not stupid, but was a setup, and Biden had to dismiss it.
Alex Vindman is not a pundit, but an attention-seeking media phenom, who cannot stand to be away from the spotlight.
The interesting thing is that the people themselves (the majority), in Ukraine, Russia, and the United States (and I am sure anywhere in the world) are peace-loving. It is only the governments and the Mass Media that have made their minds and now try to make up the public consent to start a major war.
IMO Microsoft is going to mass-distribute “Call of Duty” videogame to assist in the military recruitment for the next World War.

  24. Once again, it appears the war monkeys are making lots of noise attempting to legitimize that hideously obscene military budget.
Here’s an interesting conversation with Max Blumenthal, Ben Norton and Scott Ritter on this topic from just a few weeks ago:

  25. my take: official or ‘rogue’ (azov) ukrainian forces make a move on donbas with their new toys. millions of donbas civilians flee to russia, russian troops cover the retreat of civilians (and resistance-forces) to make sure they aren’t hunted down beyond the russian border. western media paint this as the ‘russian invasion’. europe sanctions russia by annulling all energy contracts and switch to much more expensive (fracked) lng from the states. the us throws russia off the swift-system. we’re back in the cold war.

    1. It is pretty telling how US “mediating” the conflict between Russia and Ukraine caused gas prices in Europe t increase 8x. Then the US LNG exports were diverted from China to Europe.
It is as if the US is meddling in the European natural gas markets!

      1. that is the entire point imo. no big war, just enough military conflict to get the right newspaper stories and photo’s of russians in the donbas and trigger the already drawn ‘red lines’ of the europeans and a further ‘liberation’ of european energy ‘dependence’ on russia.

  26. Russia will easily take back the russified areas. The US will continue to run high inflation to make it tough on their fellow citizens, arm twisting them into eventually fighting. 1/6 legislature means Americans will not be able to even complain, while Pelosi sips martinis in her clown suits. Wake up America you’ve been had by a group of demented, deviant narcs. Your children have lost social and cognitive skills, while a tiny group controls 99% of the wealth plus100% of the narrative. I feel sad for all those good folk in our country but the majority didn’t get the wake up call—they were too busy watching the game, shopping or trusting the wrong people.
