I’m declassifying evidence that Nigeria is planning a false flag operation in Switzerland. Are you ready? Here it is:

Nigeria is planning a false flag operation in Switzerland.

See, the evidence is me asserting it. If you doubt this evidence, you’re a propagandist for Nigeria.

What? You want proof? I just gave you the proof. I gave you my declassified intelligence assessment.

I mean obviously I can’t give you the raw intelligence you’re asking me for without revealing sources and methods and compromising intelligence officers in the field. Is that what you want? For me to compromise intelligence officers in the field? Do you work for Nigerian intelligence?

The evidence is secret. It’s secret evidence. What I can give you is the information we’ve obtained through thorough intelligence gathering methods in which our intelligence agencies have a degree of confidence. You’re free to doubt it and believe Nigerian propaganda instead, if that’s the sort of person you are.

Making your whole thing about opposing a rival political party is what people do when they lack the integrity to oppose the murderous empire that’s fully backed by both parties.

That saying “They got you fighting a culture war to stop you fighting a class war” is something you’ve got to take seriously. You can’t just dismiss it. Because if it’s at all true, even somewhat, then discourse on today’s left is completely fucked and ultimately power-serving.

Certainly you can’t reduce everything to class. Racial and sexual power dynamics are of course very real. The problem would be if those in power kept everyone focused on culture war dynamics instead of class, and kept the discourse from threatening real power. Is that happening? Is it happening at all? To any extent? Because to any extent that it is happening, power is being served and our own interests are being undermined.

You can’t just leave this question unanswered and unaddressed. It needs to be sincerely grappled with.

Whenever your anger is focused on any figure besides the western empire and its facilitators, the propagandists have succeeded in doing their job.

It’s obvious that the Iraq invasion was facilitated by propaganda. It should be equally obvious that the powers who pushed that propaganda would have developed and refined their methods and learned new techniques since 2002, and that they would be using those tricks in today’s world.

Any time there’s a new escalation against an imperial target you’ll get people comparing the propaganda to the lead-up to Iraq, and then you get people pushing back with “This isn’t Iraq! It’s different in X ways!” But it wouldn’t look exactly the same. The science of propaganda has advanced a lot since that time.

There’s always some reason why this or that act of militarism or interventionism is completely different from its disastrous predecessors. Always. It’s all just bullshit designed to throw off our basic sense of pattern recognition.

I’m a tankie, but only because that word now means “Anyone who focuses their criticisms on the most murderous power structure on earth.”

Anyone who thinks it’s a good idea to fight the Russians hasn’t watched enough MMA.

Someone who wants to make peace with Russia in order to focus on ramping up aggressions against China is as worthless to anti-imperialists as someone who wants to legalize drugs so that law enforcement can focus on locking up gay people would be to civil libertarians. Being dovish on Russia but hawkish on China is not better than being hawkish on both; you’re pushing the same amount of aggression toward what is ultimately the same imperialist agenda, you’re just doing it a little differently.

The trouble with social media hate mobs is they don’t work on the people you want them to work on. Being subjected to a bunch of people yelling at you online can ruin your day if you’re a caring person who’s affected by how people feel about you, but if you’re a sociopathic politician, pundit or celebrity it’ll just be funny to you. So if you’re a healthy person you can be easily silenced and shut down by a few aggressive social media accounts, while if your brain has a missing or malfunctioning empathy center you’re guaranteed to keep your voice. It’s one of the many ways our setup uplifts sociopaths.

Until we find a way for healthy people to be as comfortable in the spotlight as sociopaths are, they’ll always have a massive advantage over us. So many aspects of our society are tilted to the advantage of people with no empathy, like the way capitalism rewards anyone who’s willing to do whatever it takes to out-compete everyone else and climb to the top. In a sense that’s the source of all our major problems.

If you want to have integrity you want your personal psychology to line up with your political ideals. Plenty of leftist men harbor deep-seated misogyny. Many libertarians who promote personal responsibility blame their personal problems on others. You want it all to line up.

It’s nothing to be ashamed of if your psychological landscape doesn’t match your ideals; that’s pretty normal. It’s just a matter of patiently doing the inner work necessary for your mind to match your ideals, your speech to match your mind, and your actions to match your speech.

    May I attract your attention to the fact it is the reverse? (About the conclusion, and we also know how good people can stand what sociopaths do)
    Our ideals come from our narratives, coming from compensations for our lacks of somatic coherence.
    It all starts in the body and world perception.

    Look at babies… Get the bottom up approach, Somatic first, emotional second and thoughts arrive third. Then they give feedback to each others. The soma is the best entrance door.
    Or else we might give support to the wrong ideals…

    And support is the key for people to stand any stress… So until we understand what sheep are really doing, no way out! Sheep actually never follow a leader they don’t know. The pack in order to resist stress, and this is physiological.

    It’s always wretched to see the fools at the Pentagram get the presstitutes on their side. Because when there is some push-back from those that have the ability to cast their voice far and wide, then at least those who are intent on evil must defend their plans and actions. But when these same presstitutes will support your actions without question, then the free people are doomed.

    I have developed think skin. I demand integrity in the people I befriend. However, I still put my opinion (based on extensive research) out there. It’s truth that matters to me, not how someone may feel about me.
    My position is quite simply this: I expect many people to object to something I may say that is controversial. I know that, in being contrary to a value/belief system they’ve developed, that only the courageous will want, or attempt, to learn the truth. My belief is that changing even one mind is creating another individual to put that truth out in the world.
    It’s really not unlike how social media can permit both the truth and lies to, eventually, multiply geometrically. In fact, it’s not much different than what Caity does in her columns., she and I are not identical. Were we, the world would need only one of us. I agree with the majority of what she says, but not everything. But, by inviting conversation – not the nonsense of trolls – I get to engage in meaningful conversation and, sometimes, to change minds. the most frequent reply I get is, “I see what you mean. I never thought ofit that way.”

    On a more serious level, is the US planning a false flag op in Canada as an excuse for invasion? What if Trudeau asks for help to put down the right-wing, racist insurrection? After all, Canada was the first foreign territory which the US attempted to conquer (twice) so it would seem there is some unfinished business there. Of course, the US has invaded Haiti twice as often so it is probably time to update the contingency plans for that one.

      Canada has already been “conquered”. they are still a part of the Five Eyes, they are down for everything the neoliberal anglosphere tries to put over on the rest of world. and they absorb that sorry excuse for “culture” that the U.S. tries to export to everyone (coca cola, disney and selfishness/self-centeredness as a virtue).

      we don’t need to make the agreement a formal one. why buy the cow when you get the milk for free?

      what you’re seeing is essentially the rightest wing making sure that their “ideals” prevail throughout, which is superfluous as they already have. but of course, this is to win over the working class to them, since the pseudo-left “ideals” so obviously aren’t doing the job for capitalism completely enough.

      the stink/tank MICIMATT complex has yet to send out an intelligible memo on these issues because maintaining the illusions of a fake “left” vs right infighting is to make sure the populace stays confused. you apparently aren’t privy to the meetings of the inner chamber known as the The Clearinghouse, or you’d be aware of these things without us having to tell you directly.

    Gee, ya think. I’m going to disagree with the ‘refined methods’ to make a point. Propaganda has been used to facilitate every war America has ever been in. About Iraq, saying it actually shows naivety.

    Propaganda has not been refined because perfection can’t be improved on. Surveillance is more seamless and now algorithms can do the work of millions of Intelligence workers. Is that a refinement or more of the same. I am not sure.

      Vaush and tankie are new terms for me. I have searched for their meaning online; they seem to me, to be jargon: is the use of the obscure to avoid the effort of plain thought and plain speaking. They do not help me concentrate or clarify my thoughts.

      We have learned that conscience and reason are natural qualities of human beings. Psychopaths are somehow born without conscience. That alone is sufficient to make them become monsters. Whether or not they deserve condemnation depends on their actions. But science and philosophy has shown that the absence of conscience is a defect in the human form. They are born blind.

      Caitlin wisely points out that we are incomplete as humans as our psychological landscape often is discordant with our ideals. That, too, is a general quality of human existence. We are imperfect, and we live in the state of becoming. We are unfinished. If you are willing to bear serenely the trial of being displeasing to yourself, you can pass through and overcome your imperfections, offered Therese of Lisieux.
      I do not care for the epithet “tankie.” Only the most weak and frightened conscience condemns those who offer a person evidence of their own imperfections; and overcoming imperfections is the way of growth.

      Countries have a moral mission similar to that of humans- “to conquer oneself and regulate one’s life without determining oneself through any tendency that is disordered. Showing the United States to be vastly immoral is not an attack upon its citizens, but a challenge to return to decency. The last moral voice in America to call on its citizens this way was President Carter. He was met with scorn and repulsion, and America embarked on a forty-year fantasy that abandoned morality, decency and human dignity.

      A country without human moral values will fail. Those who condemn and criticise the USA are merely modern secular voices, the Jeremiahs pointing out the sins of the (American) people.

      I cannot despise the prophets; rather, I hope for enlightenment, examine the truth, seek repentance and resolve to change America. Patriots do not scorn wisdom, but seek to repent by actions.

      For if one makes a world that is utterly foreign and destructive of humans, how can humans continue to live there? What does it profit a people to gain the whole world but to lose their souls?

        Vaush is a warmongering fake progressive. Tankie is the term a Vaush supporter applied to me. I’m glad you learned the meaning of the jargon that Caitlin quoted, not sure what the rest of your post is about; i clearly did not care for the epithet applied to me either. As the article points out, it and similar terms are regularly applied by warmongers to their critics. Caitlin was called a tankie, as she states.

    Here’s a go at your comment, C. Racism is different in America than it was several decades ago. At the worst, most working-class people are neutral on Rev. Martin Luther King. The purveyors of ressentiment such as Trump use racism to seduce the frustrated, as did the Nazi’s with the Jews. As in Germany, the instigators slipped away, the Krupps and other industrialists who welcomed the Allies from the Western bloc and had a kid who crewed for Princeton-those sorts were clearly not Nazi ruffians. If you see racism, see who benefits, look for the puppet strings. People like King and Bobby Kennedy who looked for who benefits from the fragmentation that racism instills in the working class-that nosiness wasn’t allowed to continue. King wanted to save all oppressed Americans’ souls, and realized his dream was America’s hope. In America’s brief Prague Spring, on Mauertag on November 10 when young Berliners put down the deadly Wall, when the Soviet Union simply fell into its quiet emptiness of nonexistence, the jihad of freedom was rolling. It had to be stopped. It was.

    The good news about education in the US (and possibly theWest): the products of it lack context and creativity, so their ‘sources & methods’ are always outdated, opaque yet transparent.

    Additionally, we may have a contender for WH press secretary should MayorPete become king after doling out millions to swing precincts [KimIverson had some time about PeteTheBuilder on TheHillRising a few weeks back].
