Listen to a reading of this article:

Every time there’s a mass shooting in America with an AR-15, high-level Democrats line up to proclaim that those weapons should only ever be used to kill impoverished foreigners.

The latest example of this ongoing phenomenon was Illinois Senator and Iraq war veteran Tammy Duckworth telling the press that a recording from the July 4th Highland Park shooting which killed seven people and wounded dozens more reminded her of her combat experience overseas, saying the US needs to do better within its own borders.

“I just listened to the sound of that gunfire from one of the videos that was captured,” Duckworth said. “And let me tell you that the last time I heard a weapon with that capacity firing that rapidly on a Fourth of July was Iraq, it was not the United States of America. We can and we should and we will do better.”

This was not the first time Duckworth has repeated this demented Democratic Party refrain. Last month during the controversy which followed the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, Duckworth tweeted, “I carried an M16 and M4 in the military, so let me be clear: High-powered rifles designed for our troops to engage an enemy with accurate, lethal fire at a velocity of 3,000 feet per second have no place on our streets. I fully support an assault weapons ban.”

Obviously American weapons of war kill far more people overseas than they do domestically, and those killings are done in wars of aggression for power and profit which are sold to the public with lies and propaganda, so they’ve got no higher moral standing than the killings of any mass shooter. But because the Democratic Party exists only to kill leftward movement in the United States and ensure the continual functioning of a globe-spanning empire, gun violence is seen at its highest echelons not as a moral issue which should be opposed everywhere but as a wedge issue which should be exploited for campaign donations.

We saw this illustrated in a notorious 2017 tweet from now-US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigeig which said, “I did not carry an assault weapon around a foreign country so I could come home and see them used to massacre my countrymen.”

Silly Republicans! Assault weapons are for killing foreign kids!

Another classic came from Instagram progressive Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in 2019: “Weapons of war, specifically designed to kill human beings en masse, should not be available for purchase.”

Cool beans, AOC. Leave the killing en masse to the American stormtroopers exterminating brown-skinned poor people for resource control.

We saw this “those bullets belong in foreign bodies” Democratic talking point seeded way back in 2013 by that masterful empire manager Barack Obama.

“These weapons of war, when combined with high-capacity magazines, have one purpose: to inflict maximum damage as quickly as possible,” reads an Obama White House statement. “They are designed for the battlefield, and they have no place on our streets, in our schools, or threatening our law enforcement officers.”

The line “Weapons of war have no place on our streets” would go on to be parroted, again and again and again, by Democratic Party candidates and officials for years. Hillary Clinton regurgitated it verbatim during her 2016 campaign. Biden said it on the campaign trail in 2019. We heard the slogan “Weapons of war have no place on our streets” repeated word-for-word by Democratic Party war hawks like Dianne Feinstein, Adam Schiff, and Seth Moulton.

“Weapons of war don’t belong on our streets.” You can learn so much about the Democratic Party’s true nature just from those eight words. Those weapons do not belong on our streets, they belong on someone else’s streets. Far away streets. The streets where our wars are. We shouldn’t have to see that stuff!

Some pundits take it a step further and call for the US to actually physically ship all the nation’s AR-15s overseas to be used in Washington’s proxy war in Ukraine:

That’s the Democratic Party for you. Progressive in the streets, murderous imperialists in the sheets. That unique brand of psychopathy that can posture and preen as a compassionate voice of sanity before the voting public, turn around and help gun down everyone in the Global South for crude oil and Raytheon profit margins, and then go to bed and not lose a wink’s sleep over it.

That’s the face of the Nice Guy Empire, also known as the rules-based international order, also known as the liberal world order, also known as the US-led world order. It presents the facade of humanitarianism and democratic ideals, but underneath the performance it’s just as savage and bloodthirsty as any other empire in history.

  1. The US is a serial mass shooter.

  2. I don’t know what specific advice to future generations was carved on the Georgia “Guidestones” that were surreptitiously destroyed with explosives today. Never read the text, only heard of the stone monument’s existence described in on-line trivia sites. Was the message basically a proclamation of “that old time religion” that Americans from the South prefer? Or was it more “new age” or medieval witchery in nature? Was its destruction a statement of victory over now much restricted abortion rights? Or an act of outrage over loss of such? I don’t know the answers to any such questions. Nevertheless, this detonation of the anonymously chiseled words, whatever they were, represents yet another attack on free speech PLUS the proclivity to use VIOLENCE in its place! For a country that self-proclaims itself the freest and fairest on the planet (with enough sincerity to kill you for disagreeing!) we sure embrace the concept and act of violent attack on both humans and their words with lethal weaponry. The bullets and the explosives are just tools with a wide range of uses, not the cause of the problem which starts inside the thick skulled heads of the intolerant perpetrators of these crimes. The only meaningful change that’s going to stop such things will have to take place in whatever thinking process allows or encourages Americans to be so freaking rash. It will stop when such acts become unthinkable, like self-immolation or dueling with sabres or rapiers.

    1. You’ll find the inscriptions in Wikipedia. Not bad advice either but some people have seriously objected for years to the #1: maintain the Earth’s population at 500 million, which means we’d have to get rid of 93% of mankind. Besides, 500 million was the Earth’s population for over a millennium and there were wars and famines just the same. Here they is:
1/ Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
2/ Guide reproduction wisely — improving fitness and diversity.
3/ Unite humanity with a living new language.
4/ Rule passion — faith — tradition — and all things with tempered reason.
5/ Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
6/ Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
7/ Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
8/ Balance personal rights with social duties.
9/ Prize truth — beauty — love — seeking harmony with the infinite.
10/ Be not a cancer on the Earth — Leave room for nature — Leave room for nature.

Are they sure about that? How would they know he was disguised as a woman?
    What is a woman?

    1. You are right. We cannot make the assumption. We need some witness to vouch that he (she, it or they) self-proclaimed his (her, its or their) gender as female.

And so, the criminal investigation quickly grinds to a halt until the truth of this matter is ascertained.

      1. It walks like a power grab and quacks like a power grab like every time you can’t decide for yourself but have to ask someone for the answer, which gives them power over you.
        What color is the sky?
        – We’ll have to ask the master cuz we’ll get flogged if we don’t give the right answer which only he knows. Cos’ of course he decides it arbitrarily at the top of the pyramidal power structure.
Yet there’s room for optimism: in spite of all the pearl clutching, they haven’t burnt anyone at the stake yet for confusing pronouns like they used to if you said that God, Baby Jesus and the Holy Spirit masquerading as a pigeon were not the same person – not even talking about gender which was reserved for the angels.

        1. I think that layabout pigeon needs to be given more responsibilities in the god business, like say as counterpart to Quetzalcoatl the flying feathered serpent who can smite entire civilisations like the dragon Smaug of Middle Earth. How do we know these critters are all related? Were they ever DNA tested? Will Jehova be accused of white supremacy if he tests out in the R1b haplotype like most Western Europeans? If so, he’s in my lineage, baby. See how critically important most of this bullshit is? Just so somebody has pointed it out, the aghast indignation over Americans owning “weapons of war” actually flies directly in the face of the Constitution, the 2nd amendment of which was explicitly and undeniably written to guarantee the existence of an armed citizenry capable of defeating the forces of the federal government on the field of battle. James Madison, the “father of the Constitution” and actual author of the 2nd amendment, plainly articulates this in the Federalist Papers, going so far as to estimate troop strengths. Think what you want about the 2nd amendment but there is absolutely no doubt about its nature and intent, which plain fact can go fuck itself. Japan had to be nuked, Hiroshima was a military base, Saddam was in league with al Qaeda, Syria used poison gas, the 2nd amendment is about duck hunting, black is white, white is black, and 2+2=5. For most Americans, and certainly for politicians and the MSM, reality is whatever the government says it is, which incidentally goes a long way to explaining America’s difficulty in dealing with things like war.

  5. Geroge Takei must have dementia .For over 40 years he lived (as far as we know) more or less peaceably as a a beloved original Star Trek cast member. In the past 10 years he has taken to saying really off the wall stupid shit. Personally, as someone who wants to see NATO broken and humiliated for its violent crimes , sending 20 million “assault rifles” to Ukraine would please me. I would get a kick from watching the Ukrainians sell them all over Europe, and lets face it, Europe surely deserves everything it has coming to it for the role which it has enthusiastically played in this atrocity

  6. If you watched movie Idiocracy, there half of the US population works for a sports drink company. They believe corporate campaign that plants need electrolytes, and their crops die bcs they irrigate crops with a sports drink.
They cannot think of simply watering plants bcs it kills their jobs.
Similarly much of US population works for the MIC, and they know stopping all the wars abroad will hurt their jobs and lifestyle. They literally believe the killings abroad must continue for the corporate profit.
That’s why there is no large anti war movement, and word peace is anathema to the public.

    1. The best of the Democrats (and that’s not saying much) like Bernie Sanders had to support Bill Clinton’s bombing of Kosovo and the F-35 as a jobs program.

      Idiocracy is a documentary.

Got it on DVD and have said that a number of times. The evolutionary math seems inescapable.

  7. Congrats to Tim Fowley for your impersonation of Obama! To my foreign ear at least, it sounded just like the original!

Apart from which, the explanation to this general attitude was given by Noam Chomsky long ago. As soon as you cross a US border, the world is inhabited by UNPEOPLE!

They don’t exist. In the worst of cases, they’re targets but even in the best of cases, they’re fucking weirdos. I’ve had a few American friends when I was living in Paris. Nice people but of the extra-terrestrial variety. Like they can never pronounce even the simplest words properly, they apologize before articulating a foreign name because that’s such a weird expedition they’ve got advance knowledge they’re in for a Snafu. It’s kinda genetic.

One of them was an Obama groupie. Had a little plastic statuette of him surfing on her dashboard. One day I touched on all these wars he was carrying out after being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and she replied: “Well… maybe that’s the price we have to pay for our way of life…”

Couldn’t believe my ears! She had a good heart though but all those guys dying under US bombs were obviously UNPEOPLE. They just couldn’t compare! Were more like a soup in a petri dish that you might observe if you had time.

Once I heard her discuss at length with another American whether Clinton should have criticized Bush while in Ireland. Even though Bush was her enemy and Clinton her ally but abroad, they were both Americans and you just don’t criticize Americans – real people – in front of UNPEOPLE!

Another friend, who was a rabid conservative, kept giving me good reasons for all that mess straight out of CIA press releases and when I pointed out this was propaganda, she said she felt “comfortable” with it. I understood they had to salute the Stars and Stripes every morning when she was at school, which probably didn’t help much…

So they go on rampages abroad and are welcomed back with praise. All over the joint (in Wikipedia entries, Hollywood movies…) you’re told how the dude is a war hero because he went to Vietnam, Iraq or Afghanistan. Most of the time he “saw action”, they say, which I always found strange. Why is a guy a war hero because he “saw action”? Does going to movies have the same effect?

At least, if you take part in the action, like you torture UNPEOPLE to death, tear them limb from limb and send the bones to the White House with a gift ribbon, yes, you have something to show for yourself! But “seeing action” against UNPEOPLE. I’m asking you…

    It’s kind of… anti-existentialism…

Yet I must say I understand these folks. Looking at the photo on top of this article featuring these obese blobs with eyes and mouths in the upper spheres and then at pictures of Botticelli’s Venus and Michelangelo’s David, Duckworth & Co look pretty much like unpeople to me, to be totally honest…

    1. Well, if you are an immigrant in USA and express your own opinion, an average American might agree with you.
But if you happen to talk to someone who makes more than an average person, like a professional, some of them have a fit how dare you to have an opinion, bcs they thought you were a poor immigrant, and a woman too!

      1. An unwoman you mean… Or rather, to keep up with societal moods, an unbirthing person :o)

    2. “I understood they had to salute the Stars and Stripes every morning when she was at school”
      ~
Every morning AND afternoon. Back in the 40’s and 50’s, in the old McCarthy paradise, it was de rigor Pledge of Allegiance after Catholic prayers (this was a parochial school). It were the Catholics who eventually got the “under god” addendum to the magical incantation which made you American just as surely as the arcane Latin words at mass effected transubstantiation to make Jesus meat from wafers as flawlessly as mass producing Wonder Bread for your bologna sandwiches. In the PM, after lunch, the entire school body, over 1,200 little loyal American papists, would assemble in the school yard (rank and file according to classroom membership just like US Marine companies at boot camp–all perambulation throughout the institution was thus coordinated), again pledge to the flag (48 stars back then), sing the national anthem and then literally march into their classrooms to the military music of John Phillips Sousa played over the PA system.
      ~
And, nobody knew the better that they were being propagandized and regimented. Every Tuesday, all had to file out of their classrooms and into the interior hallways of the 4 story building to master the art of “duck and cover” whilst the air raid sirens wailed across the entire Chicago landscape. So, yea, the boomers were as thoroughly programed as any Hitler Jungen or Soviet Pioneer to get them ready for Nam and all the other excellent wars being planned for them. What crypto-Nazi state would not want to exploit such a potentially useful huge population of future world conquerors? Thank Quetzalcoatl that the brain washing did not take for every last one of us, though it surely did for most. Nearly 60 thousand of us had to die in Nam before a peep was raised, to say nothing of the 3 million dead “gooks.” And Clueless Joe seriously thinks the entire rest of the world is going to enthusiastically gang bang Russia on his say-so!

  8. When you use psychological techniques to deceive, to shape perception, to kill using lies there is no way out to spin off.
Truman and Eisenhower started CIA and Pentagon black ops in order to make political changes in places where they could not reach. They were no monsters despite murdering millions of people as the ultimate outcome achieved in decades till today. They were just men. Ordinary, mediocre men. That is why all the other American presidents followed this path tailor made for such people to walk. That is why lobbyists, plutocrats sought greatness using the state establishment.
But in the end as in today, as the curtain falls, they are realizing they cannot control the outcome. And all what is remaining is the monsters they helped to create. The ones who were supposed to be stupid and manipulated. I wonder if there is a hole big enough to hide all of them when this thing comes to an end.

  9. I don’t like Senator Gimpy either.

She, like the Democratic Party, was pro Iraq War.

I supported an anti-war candidate against Duckworth, but war pig Rahm Emanuel went up against her with the Pro Abortion Henry Hyde, who is responsible for who “In 1976, the US Congress passed the Hyde Amendment, which banned the use of federal funding to pay for abortions through Medicaid.”

    1. “Senator Gimpy” is Duckworth.

The first “her” (the anti-war candidate) above is the anti-war candidate Christine Cegelis

      Sorry for the word salad.

  10. I think that people need background, mental-health and correct-political-attitude checks before they are allowed to own or rent vehicles — especially large vehicles — because a few years ago it was made perfectly obvious to all that “Truck Violence” is a great threat to humanity.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Nice_truck_attack

    From the above:

“On the evening of 14 July 2016, a 19-tonne cargo truck was deliberately driven into crowds of people celebrating Bastille Day on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France, resulting in the deaths of 86 people and the injury of 458 others. The driver was Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, a Tunisian living in France. The attack ended following an exchange of gunfire, during which Lahouaiej-Bouhlel was shot and killed by police.”

Yeah, when people who are mentally “on the edge” (for one no-good reason or another) get behind the wheel, that big truck gives them that little push over the edge and they can’t stop themselves from mowing down as many people as humanly possible. I guess “we” just have to bite the bullet (heh) and ban truck ownership in order to put that final nail in the coffin of Truck Violence.

BTW, aren’t there already laws on the books that ban people from killing other people with knives, baseball bats, tire irons, big trucks, gasoline, electricity, ammonium nitrate fertilizer, dynamite, firearms, etc…………… ….unless for really, really good reasons such as the government We, the People, elected ordering us to kill people in faraway lands that we’ve never met because they’re not doing what the government We, the People elected wants them to do — like surrender or hand over their resources — again, for really, really good reasons like that?

Speaking of governments that We, the People elect time and time again, just elect another R or D government and things are certainly going to change for the better, this time. Chomsky will tell you who is the less-worse among the group of horrible R or D candidates so you don’t have to think about anything for yourself.

    1. Where there is a will there is a way.

State violence is not the cure for terror, but a contributor to terror.

Law only creates the terror of state terror. on a larger scale.

The FBI reports that more people are killed by hands and feet than by rifles.

These mass murders attract more attention for the same reason commercial airline crashes attract mot attention than the much larger number of deaths from private aviation.

    2. Speaking of Rs or Ds (even when Ds have had a majority in both houses of Congress and, just like O’bomb’em’s majority, have done nothing for the People with it), from today’s RT:

Soros reveals plan to save US democracy
The billionaire wants a Democrat landslide to defeat the “far-right extremist” Supreme Court and Trump

Soros reveals plan to save US democracy

The US Supreme Court and Donald Trump’s Republican Party represent a greater threat to the US than Russia and China and must be defeated by any means necessary, Democrat mega-donor George Soros said in an op-ed published on the Fourth of July.

Soros, 91, has previously called for regime change in China and a quick victory over Russia. In his latest syndicated opinion piece, he called them “repressive regimes” that “want to impose an autocratic form of government on the world.” However, he argued, a far greater threat to the US comes from the “domestic enemies of democracy,” which include “the current Supreme Court, which is dominated by far-right extremists, and Donald Trump’s Republican Party,” which put them there.

Echoing President Joe Biden, Soros denounced the court for last month’s Dobbs ruling, which overturned the 1973 Roe v. Wade precedent on abortion. He said the logic of the ruling endangers other rights recognized under the Fourteenth Amendment, “among them the right to contraception, same-sex marriage, and LGBTQ rights,” but possibly even inter-racial marriage.

“It is also clear that this Court intends to mount a frontal attack on the executive branch,” Soros argued, pointing to rulings regarding the authority of the Environmental Protection Agency, gun ownership, and redistricting. The common denominator in the court’s recent verdicts is to “support causes promoted by Trump’s Republican Party and weaken or outlaw causes favored by the Democratic Party,” he insisted.

The Dobbs ruling is “part of a carefully laid plan to turn the US into a repressive regime,” Soros wrote, and the only way to stop them is to “throw the Republican Party out of office in a landslide,” Soros argued. Democrats currently control the White House and both chambers of Congress.

Republicans “attack our system of democracy from every angle,” Soros wrote, accusing the party of having “stacked” both the Supreme Court and many lower courts with “extremist judges” and passing laws that “make voting very difficult” and “make subversion of the electoral system easier” at the state level.

The “survival of democracy in the US is gravely endangered,” Soros concluded, adding that “we must do everything we can to prevent that,” including reaching out to some Republicans that voted for Trump but reject his “big lie” about there being irregularities in the 2020 election. This, he argued, is about “reestablishing a functioning two-party political system which is at the core of American democracy.”

The Hungarian-born billionaire has invested millions in helping Democrat causes, from the upcoming national midterm elections to district attorney races in key jurisdictions.
      _________________________________

The Ds are very anxious to get their R bretheren into majorities in the House and Senate, because then they’ll start blaming the Rs for not doing what the Ds should have done with their majorities. So then Bidet the the DNC will have Putin and Trump to blame for every thing gone wrong in The Greatest Nation On Planet Earth.

        1. It looks like American politics are increasingly governed by guilt by association. Whatever one says, he’s associated with Trump, a fascist who wants to take down American democracy or Biden, a communist who wants to take down American democracy. That seems to be the only argument either party has got – given that they both work for Wall Street. I saw a title the other day where Killary said in essence that a Republican in the White House in 2024 would be several orders of magnitude worse than the Apocalypse and Armageddon combined. I’m asking you…

  11. With both political parties in the US, we get foreign wars, domestic guns and a deteriorating standard of living, regardless of the rhetoric. We’ve seen the PTSD of our fathers from WW2 and Korea, and from our friends back from Vietnam and Iraq. We’ve seen cops go from fat and lazy to steroidal lunatics. We’ve seen kids go from peer pressure to online isolation. We’ve gone from at least being uplifted by the speeches of JFK and the war on poverty by LBJ to being bamboozled by Slick Willie and Obamber. We’ve gone from the fledgling 700 Club to Christian fascists controlling the further right wing party. Very interesting times.

    1. Yet the main donors on both sides, Saban and the late Adelson, are more of the stardom variety.

  14. The Uniparty has always been the Party of War and corporations. However, the two right wings seem to have sifted their spill. In The fifties, the GOP was the wing of the McCarthyites and active supporters of wars. The revolving door has turned, and how the Democrat wing is the party of McCarthyites and an active supporter of wars. Marjorie T Green of all people, social media shamed AOC for supporting the proxy war in Ukraine, and the social media verbally dexterous AOC for once had no comeback. How could she? She and every member of the Fraud Squad blatantly support the arming of Nazies and killing of Ukrainians for the Empire’s salvation.

    1. As Heraclitus pointed out, every phenomenon is in motion toward its opposite. To be exhaustive, he could have added, “That’s how a donkey becomes an elephant” :o)

      1. PS: Let’s not forget that the first Democratic president, Andrew Jackson, was a slave-holder, a white supremacist and a warmonger prone to challenging his opponents in duels who hasn’t left the image of an Indian lover either. With time, they might go full circle :o)

    Bam!
I was in line once and listened as two men talked approvingly about a young man they new who was joining the army, and how this would be good because he had difficulty doing grownup things like having an apartment, and I thought, but didn’t say, how bizarre it was to think it was a good idea to take someone who couldn’t keep their own apartment and give them a machine gun and have them wander the streets of a foreign city full of people.
Here’s a fun trick to play on lefty virtue signalers, preferably a group of them- ask them the cost of, for instance, the Iraq war. Walk them through money, US credibility, foreign standing, the fallen troops, PTSD, and whatever other consequences you can prod out of them, and then when they’re out of guesses ask them how many sand niggers were killed, and be sure to use that phrase, and then point out the sand niggers don’t matter, and that’s not your opinion it’s theirs, since sand nigger deaths, perhaps a million, literally didn’t occur to them. Work in “children of god” while you’re at it, particularly if you’re in the bible belt.

    1. I guess for Johnstone calling Arabs ‘sand niggers’ like this racist asshole is doing is perfectly fine, because I posted a reply here yesterday pointing this hate speech out–and Johnstone removed it!

Not only that, but for this idiot accuses leftists who totally were against the Iraq war with democrats! Pure stupidity, as he thinks democrats like Duckworth are leftist!

I now see Johnstone as hypocritical: she whines about censorship on Twitter, Facebook, etc–but censors comments she disapproves of at blog. What a hypocritical loser. Quick!–delete this comment too Johnstone.

  17. Americans are border conscious.

Terrible acts are not terrible in themselves. They are terrible only with respect to borders.

Torture, bombing, and shooting is good or bad only with respect to borders.

Americans sometimes forget about borders and do things that would otherwise get awards.

Authoritarian thugs celebrate state violence shamelessly.

    1. The Fourth of July celebrates the freedom to own slaves, a freedom that was challenged by the British Somerset case decision that allowed a runaway slave to remain in England where slavery, by this case, became illegal.

See “The meaning of July Fourth for the Negro” by Frederick Douglass.

      https://www.abhmuseum.org/frederick-douglass-the-meaning-of-july-fourth-for-the-negro/

It is said that the Civil War was fought to end slavery. This can’t be true because the Republicans won the Civil War and their Thirteenth Amendment made slavery contingent, as punishment for such crimes as vagrancy.

Slavery was not abolished, but made contingent.

The states sentenced Blacks to slavery then leased them to corporations.

    2. I really like your comments, Glenn. The mainstream media and most Americans, including Duckworth, see absolutely no connection between assault rifles used within and without our borders.

    3. Maybe it is more that Amerikan conscious is conditioned to do as it is programmed, which is the mimic the narratives broadcast to them without questioning the sense or veracity.

  18. Caitlin you’re absolutely spot-on again with your analysis, is it just a mere 20,000 American deaths by domestic shootings this year? compare to the Himalaya of corpses produced by the American military, their proxies and US weapons abroad.

Domestic numbers have got to rise before Americans start to realise A foreign death is the same as an American death , come on kids take a gun to your school, if your teacher gives you a low mark shoot him or her and if you’re going to the White House don’t forget to pack a rod!

  19. Good god I get so fucking sick and tired of Iraq of Afghanistan veterans like that stupid bitch Tammy Duckworth constantly bringing up their “service” in Iraq to score brownie points, i.e. ‘I served in Iraq therefore I am a true american hero and I KNOW about guns!’. Virtue signaling bullshit like this is nonsensical: the Iraq war, based on lies, killing 500,000 civilians is NOT something to wear on your shirtsleeve; to the contrary it is something to be ashamed of, and that braindead idiot Duckworth should be publicly apologizing for the war crimes she and her ilk committed in Iraq. Remember Abu Grahib….

  20. Guns are everywhere. Injustice is everywhere. Violence flares up from individuals who are past the breaking point. So many calm citizens hiding interiors filled with shame and hatred means watch out at any time anywhere. So the families keep hitting their children into compliance and the children grow up seething in anger and hatred and people are murdered. Its not going to stop. I watched my grandson playing a war game. While I stood there a hundred people targets were shot and obliterated. The nazis who run the USA need such people to enlist;and they do enlist and fight brutally against designated enemies. Sports are war minus the bullets. It is all training liittle people to be fascists so when big they can be given uniforms in the domestic army called the police, or in foreign countries as hero soldiers for the corporate resource grabs going on in a hundred countries.

  21. Relax, the republicans are totally gonna save us.

  22. You finally really nailed it here! Everyday Americans aren’t qualified to use the most efficient killing machines available, they’ll just have to get by with the hundreds of rifles, shotguns, and pistols that are ubiquitous in this country! Besides, having to work harder to kill is good for the development of your character! As Jeff Bridges put it in Star Man, Bingo!

  23. Guns aren’t the problem they are the symptom. We won’t see domestic violence subside as long as we have an obscene foreign policy.

Foreign policy began when cave men sharpened sticks, made clubs and traveled over to a new hunting area to kill the inhabitants because game was scarce in their locale. Notihng has changed.

  24. Duckworth is one my Senators, along with Richard “big Dick” Durbin. Two of the worst Dems, right here in Illinois. Duckworth’s tin ear and casual amoralness are truly something. Big Dick, with his arm around the murderous, simpleton imposter Juan Guiado, declared his friend to be the rightful President of Venezuela. How can this be? How do mediocrities like this get where they’re at? Durbin wasn’t too bad 12 years ago or so. Something about the rancid Party he and Duckworth are in has something to do with it. The rightward shift in Dem land is disturbing. But not surprising.

As bad as those Senators are – it’s RTed Cruz who’d give AR 15s to teachers

During my second tour in Vietnam in 1967 we were issued M-16 rifles as replacements for the M-14. The M-16 bullet is long and narrow, and it is purposely given a slower rotation so that, when it hits flesh, it will tumble thereby causing much greater injury. That was the USA’s way of getting around the Geneva Convention law that prohibits expanding bullets or “dum-dums.”
If I had it to do over again, I would refuse to carry the M-16 on the grounds that its cartridge has the effect of a dum-dum and is therefore illegal.

    1. So… you don’t object to killing Vietnamese, just with what weapons you use to do so?

Good point. At that time I was willing to use whatever weapon I was given. If I had it to do over again, I would have surrendered to the VPA at the first opportunity.
FYI, I have apologized in writing to the Viet government for bearing arms against them.

        1. I think there should be a healthier option than that. Looking at things objectively, your surrender would not have had any impact on the bigger picture, at best it would have led to another POW situation.

A better mentality would be, what could I have done differently to prevent war altogether? If memory serves correctly, wasn’t Vietnam the last war where conscription was mandatory? Would refuse to serve be a better alternative than battle?

I know I’m just spit balling here, but hindsight is always correct. A better attitude would be what lessons can be learnt for one self and future generations?

Of course refusing to participate in that horrible illegal war would have been the best choice and many did take that alternative. But it took me awhile to figure out that the USA was on the wrong side in Vietnam. I found myself on Recon patrols in the DMZ and could easily have left while on watch in the night without anyone being aware. Surrendering to the NVA (or Vietnamese Peoples Army, the correct designation) could have had an impact in the news.

A lesson to be learned is that we should not trust our governments propaganda. Presently the USA’s idea that Russia’s military action in Ukraine is “unprovoked” is a lie.

  26. Any immigrant to the USA should keep in mind that Democrats hate poor people and foreigners. I guess same can be said of Republicans.
