During the George W Bush administration it was popular in conspiracy circles to speculate that events might be orchestrated which would allow the Bush family to complete a coup against the US Constitution and hold on to power indefinitely.

Such paranoia and suspicion of government power in the wake of the extraordinary post-9/11 advancements in Orwellian surveillance programs and unprecedented military expansionism were perfectly understandable, but predictions that the younger Bush would not cede power at the end of his second term proved incorrect. In today’s hysterical Trump-centric political environment we now see mainstream voices in mainstream outlets openly advancing the same conspiratorial speculations about the current administration, and those will prove incorrect as well.

What these paranoid presidential prognostications get wrong is not their extreme suspicion of government, but their assumption that America’s real power structures require a certain president to be in place in order to advance depraved totalitarian agendas. As anyone paying attention knows, intense suspicion of the US government is the only sane position that anyone can possibly have; the error is in assuming that there is no mechanism in place to ensure that the same agendas carry forward from one presidential administration to the next.

In a sense, the conspiracy theories about a Bush coup were actually correct: the Bush administration didn’t truly end. All of its imperialist, power-serving agendas remained in place and were expanded under the apparent oversight of the following administration. The same thing happened after the Obama administration, and the same thing–whether in 2021 or 2025–will happen after the Trump administration. The disturbing fact of the matter is that if you ignore election dates and just look at the numbers and raw data of US government behavior over the years, you can’t really tell who is president or which political party is in power at any given point in time.

The mechanism which ensures the perpetuation of the same policies from administration to administration used to be referred to by analysts as the “deep state”, back before Trump and his supporters hijacked that term and began using it to essentially mean something like “Democrats and anyone who doesn’t like Trump”. Originally the term deep state referred not to one political party, nor to some shadowy cabal of Illuminati or Satanists or reptilians, but to the simple and undeniable fact that unelected power structures exist and tend to influence America’s official elected government. It wasn’t a conspiracy theory, it was a concept used in political analysis to describe how US government agencies and plutocrats form loose alliances with each other and with official Washington to influence government policy and behavior.

It is inevitable that such a permanent second government would exist in the current iteration of the United States, if you think about it. It’s impossible to have a globe-spanning empire of the sort America now has without long-term plans spanning years or decades for securing control of world resources, undermining rivals, securing more compliant allies, and ensuring military and economic hegemony. If the US were a normal nation which simply minded its own affairs, a permanent government wouldn’t be necessary. But because it isn’t, one is.

I very seldom use the term deep state anymore, because its meaning in mainstream discourse has been completely corrupted. Now when I want to point to America’s permanent unelected power structures I usually use the word “oligarchy” or “empire”, or simply “establishment”.

This is why I haven’t been especially focused on the US presidential race, despite the Democratic primaries hitting fever pitch intensity. While I believe the race can be a useful tool for forcing establishment propagandists to expose themselves (virulent “never Trump” neocon Bret Stephens just came out in support of Trump if the Democratic nominee is anyone to the left of Pete Buttigeig, for example), the result of the 2020 election isn’t going to change a whole hell of a lot.

This might be a bit offensive to both Trump supporters and Sanders supporters, but it’s true.

Whenever I point out that the current administration has been advancing many longstanding agendas of the CIA and neoconservative war pigs–agendas like military expansionism, imprisoning Assange, regime change interventionism in Iran and Venezuela, and reigniting the Cold War–his supporters always come in saying “If he’s working for the establishment how come the establishment is working so hard to get rid of him, huh?”

Well, for starters, they’re not. Nobody who can count Senate seats believes Trump will be removed from office in the current impeachment sideshow, and everyone who understood Russiagate knew it was going to dead-end at nothing. If they really wanted Trump gone they wouldn’t be pussyfooting around with a bunch of kayfabe combat that they know will never hurt him. Obviously he wasn’t the preferred 2016 choice of certain factions within the establishment, but there are mechanisms in place to ensure that the empire can tick right along with a less-than-ideal president in the White House.

This will also hold true if Sanders miraculously makes his way through another rigged primary, and then through whatever sabotage gets thrown his way in the general election. Sure he might be able to sign a few somewhat beneficial executive orders and we probably wouldn’t see him flirting with an Iran war, but US imperialism will march on more or less unimpeded and his popular progressive domestic policies would require congress to successfully implement. At best he’d be a mild reformer who uses the bully pulpit to help spread awareness while being narrative managed on all sides by the billionaire media, and any changes he manages to squeak through which inconvenience the establishment at all will be reversed by a subsequent administration.

https://twitter.com/sahouraxo/status/1221088342428856320?s=20

Obviously the establishment would rather have someone in the White House who doesn’t constantly put an ugly face on the empire by accidentally exposing its mechanics all the time as Trump does, and obviously it would rather have an incompetent oaf like Trump in office than someone who actively points out the evils of oligarchy and imperialism like Sanders. But the establishment which runs the US-centralized empire is not afraid of Trump, and it is not afraid of Sanders. It’s afraid of you.

The unelected power establishment has ways of ensuring its dominance amid the comings and goings of America’s official elected government; they are perfectly capable of dealing with one man being a less than ideal steward of the empire. What they absolutely cannot deal with, at all, is the prospect of ordinary people finally rising up and using the power of their numbers to force real change. That is what they are really fighting against when they try to sabotage populist candidates: not the candidates themselves, but populism itself.

You wouldn’t know it from reading the billionaire media, but the Yellow Vests protests in France are still going on and have remained widespread for more than a year now. This lack of coverage is partially due to the fact that establishment narrative managers are responsible for conveying the idea that the only governments whose citizens dislike them are those which haven’t been absorbed into the imperial blob like China and Iran. But it’s also because the propagandists don’t want us getting any ideas.

The reason the propagandists work so hard to manufacture the consent of the governed is because they absolutely do require that consent. If enough people decide that the status quo isn’t working for them and begin rising up to force it to change, there’s not really anything the establishment can do to stop them. Right now the only thing keeping people from rising up in this way is the fact that they’ve been successfully propagandized not to, and the propagandists intend to keep it that way.

But eyes are beginning to open. If real change is coming, it will come from there. Not from electing anyone president, but from a large-scale awakening to the reality of our situation. The only thing standing in the way is a thin layer of narrative fluff.

  1. “If enough people decide that the status quo isn’t working for them and begin rising up to force it to change, there’s not really anything the establishment can do to stop them.”

Perhaps not so simple. Here in the UK, we had a vote in 2016 in which many millions of workers and poor people voted to leave the neoliberal, ultra-capitalist European Union. Despite this vote, most Leftists treated their vote with contempt, usually describing such voters as racists and self-defeating. As a result, Corbyn’s moderately left Labour party was soundly trounced in December. Sometimes, the Left is its own worst enemy. These days, the Left here is far from being the movement of the poor. Instead, it’s a party of middle class, well-off professionals who make policies for the poor – who, quite naturally, resent being excluded and patronised. They instead chose as a protest against the Left to vote in December for the Tories who promised to “Get Brexit Done”. The Left needs to get back to being made up of the people it claims to represent.

  2. The deep state even in its original and innocent usage is misleading. The sate is the deep state.

  3. The French protesters have proven to the world that no modern western “democratic” government represents the will of the people. Every single one, whether French, British, German, or American, is a fraud. Every single one is controlled by the rich and powerful sociopaths that control the world’s money supply. In a nutshell, the sociopaths controlling the central banks control the governments. And who are they? It is, by their deliberate design, a secret. That way you won’t really know who to blame, who to hold responsible, or who to revolt against. That way you can’t change it.

  4. What if ?… story
… or Anarchy for all (not just Family-Banking-Intelligence LLC) and freedom for everyone

For a while now I am toying with an idea that ties to the fact that current economic model is like a Monopoly game. Few (or only one) win the game and all others loose. Since I’ve only recognized this fact (not trying to correct it), as if it was a product of societal development, I will try now to develop a simple adaptation idea for the future of world economics.
World of free market that would be as fruitful for the people as could be. And would recognize all the effort and sacrifice of previous generations. Lets reset the “game” then. Lets evaluate all that mankind (infrastructure, hardware and knowledge) has accumulated so far. How much is its global worth? Could everyone who is alive right now be a millionaire (in whichever currency)?
Lets say we live 100 years and a year has 10 months. That is 1000 months in one’s life. If every person at birth is to be given a million (a new million is created by birth of a new child), he/she would have 1000 units of that currency per month to spend until death. At death that million would be taken out from circulation (individualized money that has your number on it).
Question arises: Is this reset good for individual? Those without land would have to buy food. But now farmers could be in position of independent price forming (getting paid properly for their labor). And with extra money they could directly finance robotics developers that would crate robots that benefit farmers directly (not BostonDynamics “hyenas”). And so would those robot developers earn extra money for food and leisure … and … the cycle begins.
… Those who work manually and/or with their brains would accumulate money that could then be invested into new projects of their choosing or leisure. And those who don’t work and have no innovative ideas would loose money. If you invest wisely, disperse in many benefiting inventions (and not spend all on food, housing and clothes) you get rewarded with influx from products that were developed and sold as result of your investments.
But remember: whatever you do with your money, wherever that million ends in those 100 years, all your money will be erased after you die. So there is no danger of inflation, there are no central banks needed, there are no banks at all, since there is no interests possible, there are no money lenders, there is no ministry of finances, that regulates currency flows and no taxation from the state, since there is no money related bureaucracy. People invest in what they consider worth or necessary investing, in amounts they judge appropriate individually.
And this “monopoly game” has its objective that is different from to-days economic farce: Aim is not to win by grabbing all the money (few or only one winner) and thus ending the game , but to play the game as long as you can (game never ends) while intellectually and emotionally enjoying it.
Of course this idea is “just plainly ridiculous” at first glance. And at second. But what if…?

There couldn’t be more and more currency in circulation. And no arbitrary printing of money by/for most powerful actors. There would be as many millions as there are living people. Once I’ve died, all the currency with “my name on it” (my serial number) becomes worthless and is taken out of circulation.
Essentially one would start with a million, gradually releasing it into circulation and died taking one’s million out completely. And since, during individual’s life time, his/hers money has been dispersed, those holding small amounts of that money at the time of death wouldn’t “suffer” much of a loss.
Individual would be encouraged, from the start, not to overindulge (1000 point per month doesn’t make you infinitely rich) and to live by the motto of creating new quality that benefits all (action that attracts outside investment). Also there would be no need for the State to exist in such a megalomaniac form of bureaucratic regulatory capacity (with standing armies and Intelligence apparatus) that few individuals would be willing to support.
And problem with intellectual property would fall away also, if there would be none. All access to knowledge would be open. When you create new code for worker robots to operate better, you get paid by investors/investments and later by sales. One time operation, without any long turn royalties. If someone is prepared to use your realized idea and works on its further development, that someone gets financially rewarded (new investment) for that particular improvement or work on replicating a product (sales) and has no extra protection. Development would be driven by real needs of people (investors and/or buyers) and all needles product would be financially discouraged (no consumerism mentality).
People would be initially forced to invest into sectors that satisfy their basic needs and make them more price efficient (food, housing, clothes…) and only then would invest in the indulging lifestyles. By giving everyone a million at the start of their life would ensure fair play starting position for everyone and destroy any need for vertical social mobility and horizontal exclusivity cartel associations.
Maybe one additional feature of such individualized currency (“million with your number on it”) would be possibility of tracking the future use and movement of money you’ve spent. To see what your money is doing out in the real world is very “regulatory” on its own.
As I’ve said, a very bizarre idea on the first glance and second, ….but what if…?

If there are to be 10 billion people on the Earth by 2050`s (watch any of Hans Rosling`s presentation of world statistic), then all the currency in circulation would amount to 10 quadrillion. That amount would be more or less constant, since the global population’s exponential growth of 18th-20th centuries has already essentially leveled at future constant number of 10 billion people living on the planet. A million more ore less wouldn’t change anything.
What really creates inflation are the Central banks creating new money by new loans (private and to governments) in amounts of new trillions. And interests on that money lent. And all the financial derivatives and future gambling financial investments. That all would be gone. Together with stocks. Money/currency would be the only “stock”.
John Doe’s million would be created only by his birth, no other reason for creating money would be allowed. So, if the population will have leveled at 10 billion people around 2050, then amount of money in circulation should be relatively constant.
And then … the question for every individual to answer awaits:
    >> What kind of a world do you want to live in? What will you do to realize that future? <<
After asking those questions, it is your individual "free choice to develop" that future with your money's influence. Money as a future creating tool, a tool that is today reserved only for the "chosen" ones (rich monopolists), who regularly reset the (Monopoly game) system by creating financial crises and property/resources acquisition.
Oh, if you are wondering what would become of today's billionaires and trillionaires, Earl John Doe the III`s? … Well they would still have a million of their own after the reset, just like all the others.

This is my what if…EVERY MILLIONAIRE? story. If it doesn't resonate with you, please, move on to others. Or add to it.
    ……………………………………………………………………………………….
P.S .: People who cherish freedom should run away from UBI – universal basic income – that is tied to your social credit score ("value") and is meant to enslave you permanently and fully. If money is to be given (must be printed) for free to everyone, than it should come in one big chunk and not as monthly allowances.

  5. Some of the greediest people in the world part with billions of dollars because of one thing. They are scared of us. So, they build media empires. They buy entire legislatures. They spend billions on PR and Advertising and Propaganda and all of it is to lie to us because we scare them to death. People who are so greedy that they’ll tear down a factory and move it to China rather than pay their workers a decent wage spend small fortunes on propaganda and security because they are scared of us.

  6. Agents of the “establishment” have an easy task indoctrinating and controlling the masses because most people like to be indoctrinated and controlled and agents of the “establishment” know this. The secret plan of the super-wealthy elite aims to bankrupt and paralyze the middle classes. But then these better educated and previously wealthy members of the population will at last come to understand the lies, greed, injustice and malice of their elite rulers and the farce of so-called “democracy.” Then previously wealthy people will say: “No! We will not serve those slave masters and their interests any longer.” Those better educated people will lead the poor and confused masses in a global liberation movement which Israel’s Greatest Liberator and His Ambassadors described, lived, taught and promoted until the authorities assassinated them. Now we must use the Keys of Knowledge to improve on the efforts and results of those ancient liberators. The Keys of Knowledge will expose infiltrating spies from the authorities and help expand and empower a network of hopeful, courageous and successful liberators.

  7. From the start the global oligarchy was set to stop Trump being elected and, failing that, to impeach him. If Trump went, you would have got Pence. That could still happen. Nobody seems to mention that possibility.

    1. This impeachment saga is mere political theatre. That’s why none of the corrupt top state officials and politicians ever go to jail for their crimes. Tune in to journalists and analysts like Edward Griffin, Jake Morphonios, Brandon Smith, Gerald Celente and Caitlin Johnson who do excellent research and expose Donald Trump as a two-faced, self-serving, lying collaborator of the Deep State. They report direct evidence of Trump’s money-laundering business operations, his rescue from bankruptcy by the Rothschild Banking elite and his collaboration with wealthy Saudi Arabian arms dealers and money-launderers. Donald Trump is the Deep State’s controlled opposition.

      1. Agree it’s political theatre but would Pence have been ‘better’?

This corruption and collaboration goes way back and permeates everything. Trump is just one of this Mob. They have got away with so much over the decades, and will continue to do so until the MSM dies under the weight of its own lying. The more they get away with thanks to the MSM and supine gullible public, the more brazen and bizarre they become.

        1. Agents of the “establishment” namely editors of MSM, have an easy task indoctrinating and controlling the masses because most people like to be indoctrinated and controlled and those editors know this.

  8. To be clear: Iran will try its best to avoid all-out war. The U.S. will not. This is the war that, as the NYT reports, “Hawks in Israel and America have spent more than a decade agitating for.” It will start, upon some pretext, with a full-scale U.S. air attack on Iran, followed by Iranian and allied attacks on U.S. forces and allies in the region, including Israel, and then an Israeli nuclear attack on Iran—which they think will end it. It is an incomprehensible disaster. And it’s becoming almost impossible to avoid. Please read this great article here:

  9. How do we rise up? How do we coordinate & organise that?

Pondered it for some time. now; still no answer.

    Any suggestions?

    1. Well, you rise up by getting up onto your feet and refusing to sit back down again.
We don’t coordinate and organize it. Movements that have had success have been uncoordinated. And, anything we say or do electronically is monitored. So, we don’t do it that way.
Stand up! Stand up! Stand up for your rights! 🙂
And then take note of who is standing up next to you and have a nice personal, non-electronic conversation.

    2. Vote for a party promoting direct democracy.
Even now, within the current framework of representative democracy we can have direct democracy easily implemented: a political party running for seats in the parliament can declare that it will organize referenda on each topic discussed in the parliament and its representatives will vote according to the results of the referenda, that is just mirror them in the parliament. More or less like puppets controlled by the people participating in the referenda. This is perfectly legal in the current political structure of any western democracy. Just do that and the sociopaths will gradually start to lose power.
just a suggestion. possibly not the best one but at least better than the existing model

      cheers

  10. I’ve noticed that there’s three terms (among others) in this article that are used in some respects as a means of denigration.
    1) conspiracy theorist
    2) deep state
    3) coup

I’ll attempt to define each, separately.
1)CONSPIRACY THEORIST: I believe there is sufficient evidence to justify the idea of conspiracy theory, historical.
Whether or not you have recognized them as such is your prerogative.
The first would be the constitutional convention. Publicly stated as an effort to improve upon the Articles of Confederation. The result; an entirely new constitution.
The War of Northern Aggression. I’m aware of the contentious nature of of the label I’ve chosen. Let’s review. Lincoln had said time and again that he had no authority to end slavery and he had no intention of allowing the right of marriage, voting, jurors in law, or outright citizenship, for blacks. After all, Lincoln was in favor of his state’s policy of requiring a bond of 500 dollars for blacks that already lived in Illinois and from any black wanting to move to his state. (Meanwhile, as the war raged on Lincoln was shipping blacks, voluntarily to Africa, known as colonization). Once he became the nominee of the newly formed GOP his rhetoric changed dramatically. Regardless of how you feel about slavery (repugnant in my opinion) it was a legalized practice at the time. Keep in mind that the majority of people alive today. Would be totally shocked to learn that the first slaves brought into the colonies were White. No, I’m not referring to indentured servitude, but actual chattel slavery, in perpetuity, including their children.
Certainly, the year of 1913 was a monumental event. With the passing of the Federal Reserve Act (16th). The election of state senators 17th. And the income tax. All of which remain controversial to this day.
JFK, I believe that should be sufficient enough. I mean, if the case against Oswald was as solid as the government contends, then why the need to classify the files top “ secret “? This alone should convince everyone / someone of an outright conspiracy. Of course, there are lots of events in between The Articles of Confederation and the assassination. Gulf of Tonkin, anyone?
    2) deep state. Clearly a distraction from the existence of not a single deep state, but in fact three deep states.
    The deep state
    The Deeper State
    THE DEEPEST STATE
deep state, yep, is the unelected baureocrats. While we’re at, let’s not forget about the various unconstitutional commissions.
The Deeper State, would consist of organizations like the Council on Foreign Relations , Bilderberg attendees, Supreme Court Justices, corporate executives, and who could forget the BANKSTERS? This by no means, is the complete list.
    M
Now, the hardest one to identify, the nebulous DEEPEST STATE. Having said that, I’ll try. My first selection would be, by necessity, the Inbred Royals and their associates, the Rothschild family, George Soros, the Rockefeller’s, Carnage’s, Fords, basically anyone who benefited from the taxing of the filth reach ( the lie that sold the 16th). They were one step ahead, as insiders. By the time the 16th was passed, they had squirreled away their wealth in various tax foundations, trusts, or altruistic organizations.

    3) COUP, this one is easy and short and sweet. There is nothing sudden or violent in any of this. That’s how a coup is defined, is it not?

Perhaps, I should have submitted this for an article. Sorry, for such a long post. The stakes are that high, not that we the Serfs have a chance of setting a new course, we DO NOT.

  11. I want to take a mind trip. I want to compare two worlds – the earth on which we live and another planet that is identical to ours, except that in that planet’s solar system there has been a brief solar event whose radiation has not only instantaneously killed all of the people on that planet, but, amazingly, also slowed down the physical deterioration of any of the things that the planet’s deceased inhabitants created.

Hearing about the calamity on the twin planet, millions of people from our planet, who just happen to be unemployed ex-technicians from various professions (yes, a very competent bunch), jump into spacecraft and fly to that other planet. But, before they leave, they agree that all of what is on the other planet will be “owned” equally among them and used for the good of all. (Yes, you’re right, that is exactly where I’m going.)

Just like there is on this planet, there is an internet on the other planet, so the immigrants instantly realize that a so-called representative government will not be necessary……….. on the other planet. In that place there shall be direct democracy. People will hammer out important decisions among themselves using the internet as a means of virtually instantaneous mass communication.

There will be only one “nation” on this new world. That nation will cover the entire world. There will be no other nation to export to. There will be no other nation to import from. The immigrants will either design a stand-alone economic system that does not need either imports or exports, or they will die.

Every person in the new world will be a “world citizen”. There will be only one set of rules for every person. Again, human beings will either sink or swim together on this new world.

After the new immigrants arrive on their new planet, using existing transportation systems, they disperse all over their planet so that they can get their new (old) machines up and running; fields plowed and planted; hospitals operating, etc. (Yes, it wasn’t easy. But with the common good in mind, people were successful. Just accept it for the moment.)

The immigrants soon realize that it takes very few people (far fewer than immigrated) to keep the machines running, food on the table, etc., and with some more design engineering and automation, even fewer people will be required as time goes on. Not only that, but the products of these machines can be made to a much better quality then they apparently were previously, so these products will last far longer. As a result, it is realized that perhaps some of the huge machines/factories can be operated far less frequently than they used to be by the previous inhabitants. For example, automobiles soon come to be made much simpler, easier to fix and much more reliable. They have a far greater useful lifespan than they once had.

The people enjoy leisure time, developing their artistic abilities, playing games and other non-productive activities.

Rather than unfairly have the same small number of people constantly toiling on the machines, the people decide to divide up, or “distribute”, the human labor that is necessary to operate the machines, plow the fields, construct buildings, roads, etc. That is, everyone has to work on the machines, etc., but for only a short period of time each year. And as the machines get improved and further automated, even less labor is required and, therefore, even more of each individual’s time is “free”.

The newly-designed machines in this new world come to do almost all of the things that must be done, and the “profit” from the machines – leisure time and the actual products of the machines – is equally divided among all people.

Some of the leisure time is used for training all people in the variety of tasks they will be undertaking – everything from brain surgery to sewage treatment. Apprenticeship and training via video (just like Youtube on planet earth!) are found to be the ideal ways of training people. It is soon discovered that most medical and dental procedures can be either performed by robots or learned in a fraction of the time once thought to be absolutely necessary.

Through apprenticeship and video schooling, the population becomes very knowledgeable, so they soon realize that by reducing their own population by slow attrition – by having only one or two children – the remaining population has even less to do (less water treatment, housing, electricity, food, everything), so their descendants have even more free time to themselves.

These people’s new-found religion is two-faceted — the Golden Rule and the continually-evolving simplicity, ease-of-use, and, most importantly, high-quality-construction and, therefore, long usable life of the products they create. Unlike the people did back on planet Earth, the people on this new world strive to manufacture things only once — things that with simple, inexpensive maintenance, last essentially forever.

Transportation systems move people to and from the machines and other places where labor is needed, as well as moving people about the planet for other less practical reasons.

Life is great in the new world.

    The End

My point is that there are possible alternative ways of living (economic systems) to the present one, but the only thing we are allowed to hear in our prefect Matrix of education and 24/7 propaganda is that there is NO alternative (TINA) to the present arrangement, other than the experimental ones that are at this very moment being literally dreamed up by the present entrenched powers-that-be in order to serve only themselves.

All of us commenters and, particularly, Caitlin and Tim have to RIGHT NOW do exactly what our billionaire Elite Overlords are doing – at first “imagining” a different arrangement than the one we were born into (a greed-based arrangement that has for literally centuries benefited only a microscopic percentage of the population and which has also led the human species of animal to the edge of extinction either by environmental catastrophe or nuclear war) and then implementing that new arrangement by electing representatives who have that same “vision” of a better arrangement and will carry out their constituents’ wishes against an entrenched, near-omnipotent opposition.

Keep in mind that I intended my hypothetical world to stimulate discussion of alternative arrangements. If you can imagine a better arrangement than the one I have imagined and a better way to bring that arrangement into reality than voting (such as doing what the Yellow Vests and the Hong Kong “protesters” have been doing for a long time), please type it out right here, right now. Big things have almost always had small beginnings.

    1. I could share you dream, Ishkabibble, if it weren’t for the fact that the new planet would be inhabited by humans. Someone very dear to me is so distressed by the current state of the world that he has all but dropped out of society and is seeking to cut the last of his ties to the lying cheating destructive world. He mentioned the possibility of joining a commune, a commune being your dream on a small scale. But the history of many communes is that they start out ideal on the same principles as yoursl but end up a shambles when, inevitably it seems, some people start pushing their weight around, some form cliques, there is jealously and backstabbing etc., and the experiment is over. All very sad.

      1. Communities need to use the Keys of Knowledge for discernment, for identifying and appointing suitable leaders, making important decisions and networking successfully with other like-minded communities who use these Keys.https://mikamolyneaux.wordpress.com/?s=keys&submit=Search

      2. I have seen some very successful communes. Don’t diss this them all. I have spent some absolutely lovely times in communes. Don’t let someone on the internet tell you that it can’t be done.

    2. A pleasant alternative Earth you’ve described. Certainly a society that shared similarities with your vision could be achieved. The opportunity to create this fresh social order will likely only come about upon the downfall of the present ‘top down greed driven’ system. That opportunity, I believe, is more likely to manifest through the current system’s self-destruction vs. a ‘yellow vest or hong kong’ type action on the part of the populace. The ‘good news’ is that the self-destruct button has already been pushed; it’s just a matter of it going through the crumbling process which will take a bit of time.

As Sun-Tsu has stated, “In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity.” Perhaps the best use of our time, whilst the destruction occurs, is to plan a new course. This way when the opportunity presents itself, we will be ready to act. It would be tragic to let that opportunity slip by.

I do have a concept, not so different than the one you’ve sketched out here, that may be helpful; its more a compilation of many people’s ideas both old and new rather than my own. The rough draft is in the process of being refined to a draft stage; I expect it will have reached that point with a few more weeks work. Its been a work in progress for years already. And it is far too lengthy to post as a comment. It will be posted on the Ombhumi website when the ‘refined’ draft is complete. An earlier draft (now significantly revised in unpublished format) of societal systems concepts can be found via a link on the About page if you’re interested.

    3. Dear Robyn and K Storme, here is one of many videos of Twin Oaks Community, just one example of an intentional community that was started in about 1967 and is still going strong this very day. IMO, this place can be used as a template for a much larger, city or nation-sized economy. We don’t need to start from scratch. But how many humans that are plugged into the present Matrix will be interested in such a bland, boring day-to-day existence? You tell me.

To improve society by voting requires that all voters carefully scrutinize the candidates so that they accurately stand for what the community wants. We would choose our representatives based on their wisdom and their desire to maintain a fair, cooperative and just society. We would not choose any candidate who is affiliated to a party because such a person would not be free to represent their constituents. If the people were interested enough to conduct research and inform themselves before voting, the outcome of an election would be a parliament/congress etc full of independent and cooperative people. Representatives rather than politicians.

      1. I agree 100%, Step. Whatever you want to call the present historical arrangement is designed to direct the voting behavior of the vast majority of voters to the Bilderberger pre-approved candidates that you see in front of the MSM cameras in these nationally-televised, so-called “debates”. It’s worked very well in the past up to the election of Donito Assolini, who was NOT a Bildergerger-approved candidate.
        .
There are tons of other candidates that are not Bilderberger-approved who would IMO, if elected, perform much better as representatives of their woke, educated constituents. For example, ever hear of Howie Hawkins?
        https://howiehawkins.us/
Elect 435 Howie Hawkins in the House, 100 Howie Hawkins in the Senate and one Howie Hawkins for POTUS and you’ve got a new USA.
        ..
In other words, electing the correct 536 people gets you a new country — a new, peaceful world. That’s all it will take. If people can somehow break free of the greed-based Matrix and get their priorities straight, IMO it can be done.

        1. Communities should use the Keys of Knowledge for discernment, for identifying and appointing suitable leaders, making important decisions and networking successfully with other like-minded communities who use these Keys. This is a very practical, systematic, graphical method for identifying the wisest, most knowledgeable and insightful people available. https://mikamolyneaux.wordpress.com/?s=keys&submit=Search

    5. That hypothetical world would scare the pants off of most people today!! Most have no idea at all of what to do with all that “time”. We do not have the habits of reading, talking, gardening, cooking, making things by hand. Lost long ago. Today we need “work” to fill the day and and give us an identity for ourselves. We do not know who we really are and what we are capable of.
As a retired person I see the staggering void that the next 30 odd years of living now faces me.(65 to 95) Fortunately I can cook, garden, read and make things because I cannot afford to go on cruises or seniors tours forever. I will do my best to create a sense of community around me. But I truly fear for the wave of deep depression that a less prepared person will face. Go take a look in an “old folks home”.

      1. The fun is in thinking up ways to engage everybody of all ages in planning ahead as a community for the inevitable stages, stumbles and missteps in life.

  13. I suppose people rising up was the reason the deep staters allowed the original New Deal to go through. And why they have obviously co-opted that idea with the Green New Deal in advance, so they can control how that looks and works, in their favour obviously. Buy people off with a UBI which does nothing to counter the hyperinflation they are creating with central banks pumping out billions daily, force everyone on to a social credit program and digital currencies they control (not independent and transparent), and finally they will go for global empire. We have to know what we want, what the alternatives are. We need to understand cryptocurrencies, we need to understand that global institutions are not our friends, we need to break up the big banks, we need to start building resilient local community services and break the mega trade treaties that only serve global corporations. Local transparent credit unions that charge no interest. Community currencies that keep funds in the community. Community small businesses that employ people, not robots. Local food self sufficiency so we can’t be held hostage by global suppliers. Open up ‘crown land’ for homesteading, one or two acres per person, and restricting resource extraction locally.
No more global powers, the .001%, secret intelligence agencies, secret hidden technology that messes with the weather (HAARP), no trillion dollar military budget to create false flags to justify a police state. That’s got to go.

Well put! How to bring this about is the big question.

    2. As a lifetime member of the Deep State, I think you have got it all wrong. If it were not for the restraint of the Deep State, we would have Central Americans in death camps, a 50 ft border wall on the border while your interstate fills with potholes. The EPA would be renamed the Environmental Pollution Agency, Medicare would be privatized, BUT that would probably not matter as WW3 would be getting all out attention.

Put differently, the Deep State ensures political appointees and the public play by the rules. The RULEs (and staffing levels) dictate the pace of government, and Congress sets most of the laws from which the rules derive.

The founding fathers designed our government to be slow probably because Trump’s ghost was probably already in their nightmares LOL. In 45 years of federal service in DOD, the WH, and 3 other departments, I never once saw partisan politics drive workforce activities – EXCEPT at the Department/Agency head level. Most of the political zealots resign after a year in frustration. The rest start to follow the law.

  14. Average and low-income Americans desperately need financial help. Let Bernie help us for a few years then stand back as less-stressed Americans stand up and work to retake real control over our government.

Expect a lot of isolationism after that. It’s time for us to fix our own problems and that means letting the world solve its problems without US.

    1. Will not work, this former nation was fully taken over by a Satanic Group claiming “They Are Special” – Yes, have learned THEY are…In fact they are NEGATIVE ALIENS and have destroyed ” FULLY ” everything using fascist methods of telling US what we can say and all the USUAL Super Rich WAYS. 16. “If real change is coming, it will come from there. Not from electing anyone president, but from a large-scale awakening to the reality of our situation.”

I think that statement overlooks that if a candidate like Sanders continues to build momentum at the grass-roots level (as Sanders is doing), that candidate might very well be a catalyst for change because it requires being politically woke to the enslavement of the citizens by non-taxed global corporate monopolies. Bernie supporters get that, and are trying to get their neighbors to get woke too.

  17. The “thin layer of narrative stuff” that keeps the Empire in place is quite sufficient to control the mass consciousness, which is composed of witless sheeple incapable of thinking outside it’s phony messages.

  18. I agree with you completely. The government however is not a shadow organization nor deep state. It is a mountain of laws, agendas and plans which cannot be dismantled. The people caught in this web are locked into a paradigm from which they cannot escape. Thus like a freight train it changes direction very slowly if any at all. It reminds me of Trantor for those who know what that means.

  19. How to Become a Mentally Sovereign Human:

Work on the surface of media stories and discourses, including this one, and focus not on their meaning but on how they are organized and how they relate to each other in producing regimes of alternate narratives of truth and indeed the subject.

I am not arguing the subject, but rather point out how the propaganda minister of Boganistan herself is so emotionally consumed with replacing the U.S. republican democracy with socialism. The goal of enlightenment is not to dwell on the cognitive dissonance of others but to become enlightened to your own. And you are definitely blind to your own EGO.

  20. Spot on Caitlin. Except for the suggestion that Bernie is of some higher moral standard than other candidates. Given the hundreds of millions murdered in the twentieth century in the name of socialism, anyone suggesting it as a solution to any problem is either an idiot, a tyrant, or a fraud. There is no difference among them. They all seek power to control their subjects, which can only be achieved with violence by the state, which always has and always will result in the enslavement and death of their subjects. Any who opposed the Sociopaths In Charge are disposed of.

    1. Correct. Sanders is no better than the rest of them except Warren which is much worse than the rest.

    2. The kind of socialism I envisage is more in line with the socialism of Cuba, Venezuela and Bolivia which has lifted millions out of poverty and housed millions. The only violence is that inflicted by the global oligarchs in their attempts to enrich their corporations by replacing socialism in those countries by loot-and-steal capitalism.

Bernie, after being taken out by the Clinton cartel, did a 180 and backed Hillary. That did him for me.

  22. We are propagandized, misinformed, and mostly divided which leaves the American people weak on all fronts. We cannot rise above the Empire because the Empire has successfully dumbed the American populace down. Most are happy working for law enforcement or the military industrial complex, if educated. If not educated they are happy with watching MSNBC, sitcoms and eating potato chips.

Since most of the populace is poorly educated and can’t think for themselves, we have no chance of turning the tide….? Maybe?

There are 300 million of us and if we found our strength in numbers, we would, could and should put the bastards in jail. Yes, they fear us and we need to make that real for them.

    1. We can still talk to each other. As we are doing now. This happened near the end of the Soviet Union. People just started passing information around on their own regardless of what the State mandated.

    2. The U.S. has too many people in prison already. Let’s think of another way to punish, or at least rid ourselves of the people who constitute the powers that be. Further, let’s not have the burden of feeding, clothing, providing shelter and guarding them. Perhaps no prison but exile. There are still many compliant states that could be enticed to take in our refuse as one side of a well-negotiated quid pro quo.

  23. The posters who mentioned direct democracy are 100% correct. In order to get “the government” (in whatever form we decide that should take) to represent the people, we need to have direct democracy OR a representative democracy where political parties and outside funders are banned completely.
    …………..

A ranked-choice voting system with approval voting might be able to help us get out of this mess. And people should have to vote in person with paper ballots that are initially counted on site in full view of anyone who wants to observe the process. Voter ID is also a must. The notion that some people are incapable of getting ID at this point in time is specious — people need identification to get a bank account, buy alcohol, go to the doctor, get on an airplane (and some trains), rent an apartment, stay in a hotel/motel, etc.
    ………………..

The #1 obstacle to getting a government that represents the people’s interest is political parties. This is how the oligarchs control the elected officials. It’s difficult to control tens of thousands of individual candidates/politicians across the country, but it’s very easy to control a couple political parties (or even a few parties that are able to form coalitions). Any party that gains traction is guaranteed to become corrupt, so “We, the People” need to ensure that we vote as individuals for individual candidates and individual issues. The notion that any thinking person would check all the boxes for a political party’s platform is also absurd. We need to vote for people and issues that work for us as individuals, and that will not usually align with ANY political party’s preferences and stated goals. It’s also imperative that power is kept as local and diffuse as possible — people need to be able to keep political leaders accountable at all times. Wealth and power should never be concentrated in just a few hands. No matter what type of economic system we get (capitalist, socialist, communist, etc.) it will always be disastrous for the masses if power is concentrated (authoritarian political structure). For this reason alone, we should be fighting every day against globalism and the New World Order.
    ………………………..

The reason that you see such a violent reaction whenever someone suggests that left and right populists should join forces is because that is the only way to overpower the oligarchs.

      2. https://liberty-intl.org/2000/03/the-swiss-cantonal-system-a-model-democracy/

Totally agree that political units must be made much smaller and a more direct democracy must be implemented. The problem–as you point out–is a dumbed-down, compliant, fat, complacent populace that is happy as long as they have their smart phones, Monday night football and beer.

Apparently it’s going to take something even more catastrophic than the 2008 meltdown to get people out in the streets with their torches and pitchforks.

      Truly troubling times…

    2. Direct democracy? Gang rape is democracy in action. The notion that voting can result in a solution is the biggest fraud perpetrated on the public. Any form of government depends on one fundamental premise; only the state has the authority to commit violence, and that authority is omnipotent and unquestioned. Such an environment is ideal for sociopaths, and so whatever government may be instituted, it will eventually, and sooner rather than later, be saturated with them. We can govern ourselves or be governed by monsters. In the case of much smaller political divisions, such Sociopaths In Charge could more easily be dethroned, but they would arise.

      1. For direct democracy you need significant participation. Gang rape is a disgusting act of violence of a small group of criminals.
The transparency and meaningful participation in direct democracy precludes the rule of the sociopaths who are after all a minority. So direct democracy is exactly the opposite of a gang rape which pretty well characterizes the current imperial political system.
        cheers

        1. Once Athens instituted its system of direct democracy with representatives and officials chosen by lot from the whole citizen body, people, given the chance, started participating. Read Aristophanes. Anyone who has ever served on a jury has seen how most people, given an opportunity to decide an issue, rise to the occasion.

    3. Two major problems: (1) how to rid the world of psychopaths who always rise to the top of large organizations. (2) After ridding the world of psychopaths, how to discover and appoint wise, honest, insightful, generous, compassionate leaders. The Keys of Knowledge can do this.

  24. Thanks again Ms Johnstone! This article hits another nail right on the head. The problem with the ” American population ” is that they do not want to ever wake up from their coma. They like the ” great white hat never wrong fantasy ” that is daily fed to them. Only a ” national shock ” ( a depression or nuclear war ) will ever arouse these people to abandon the narrative fantasy that they now wallow in.

  25. From “Money And Class In America” by Lewis H. Lapham….” I sometimes think the only American story is about the reading of the will.” “Howard Cosell once put the proposition in the fewest possible words. Together with Frank Gifford he was broadcasting a ‘Monday Night’ football game when the play on the field turned dull. Cosell lost interest in the score, and he began to talk to Gifford about the celebrities who had visited them in the booth during an earlier segment of the broadcast. Reggie Jackson had appeared briefly to acknowledge signing a $3 million contract with the Yankees, and Jimmy Connors had dropped by to report winnings of $80,000 the previous weekend at a tennis tournament in Las Vegas, Cosell said: “Well Frank, we’ve had a lot of money in the booth tonite.” He didn’t think it necessary to mention the names of the people to whom the money was attached. The names weren’t important. Athletes come and go, some in triumph, and some on stretchers, but the money lives forever.” “The rich are like ravening wolves, who having once tasted human flesh, henceforth desire and devour only men.” Jean Jacques Rousseau……..

    1. Yes, exactly! A sane thing to do! And it is important to notice: this decision did not come from a representative, rather was made on a referendum.

In practical terms, to change the rule of the elite we need direct democracy and it is easier to be implemented than we think.

Caitlin is perfectly right: the establishment can easily have its way against the will of the people if it needs to manipulate a handful of representatives like presidents, PMs etc, but it is much harder to push its agenda against the will of the majority on a referendum.
It is important to know that the solution is not far away and but is rather already here in very concrete terms, separated from us by just a “thin layer of narrative fluff”

From certain perspectives the establishment, bankers, profiteers and warmongers are sitting atop a very flimsy house of cards that will eventually collapse under the weight of their accumulated wealth. As despicable as their behaviour is, I hope the power structure dissolves as a result of a global shift in consciousness rather than through a revolution. When we are feeling angry towards these depraved hoarders of wealth the idea of a revolution against them seems very tempting.
A violent revolution may not really work out well for the majority of people because when it all boils down to basics, the only “essential” people are the ones who are producing food or useful products, tools, trades etc. All of the millions of people who work in skyscrapers or offices are not really producing anything and during the wild confusion of a revolution they may be considered to be expendable. A couple of examples are the revolutions led by Mao Zhedung and Pol Pot. People who were not producing something useful for society were forced to work in the fields, labour camps or simply exterminated. So anyone wishing a revolution upon us should be mindful of how far revolutions can go.
Another possibility of what may happen if the current power structure (especially in civilian armed America) is suddenly swept away, is a return to the days of the ‘wild west’ when ruthless greedy people hired armed gangs to terrorize the population, taking vast estates of land for themselves. In modern times the descendants of these people are part of the ruling elite, in Australia and the USA. They ‘own’ obscenely large tracts of land and wield influence accordingly.
The fair, planned and legislated distribution of a nation’s wealth would be considered by most people to be ‘socialism’ and it seems to me that a high percentage of Americans have an innate hatred of socialism. So what will happen to the precious metals and the ownership of industry if the elite are toppled from their perch? Is there a plan in place or are we going to descend into bloody chaos?

  32. I always thought the French “vestes jaunes” should be called the “yellow jackets” in English (an alternative translation), after the ferocious burrowing wasps to underscore their anger at the government. I think they have stung Macron like no cadre of American protesters have been able to do to any American president since the Yippies rankled Johnson and Nixon. Of course, the cops in America weren’t yet militarised like they are today. Whatever head-cracking they did with their batons back in the day was totally self-expression, unlike the mechanised maneuvers using armored vehicles, full body armor and advanced kinetic and chemical weaponry that we see today. America is poised for “killing its own people” if pressed like the yellow jackets are testing Macron. That will be when TSHTF, if American civilians have the stomach for it.

  33. I can agree with some of what you’ve said. Where I disagree with you is that they don’t fear us and that has been the problem, all along.

For one thing, most of the people do trust government for whatever reason.

Now, I understand from reading your post that I’ll be considered a conspiracy theorist, but not without reasons.

Let’s look at what seems to be a minor issue with most everyone. That would be our names spelled in all upper case. Which is known as a legal fiction, in support of a legal person. Instead of what we are,a natural person. One simple question; is it proper grammar to spell anyone’s name in upper case? So, if we agree that it isn’t, then why is it done this way? From my perspective, it’s all about commerce. Which changes the game completely. There’s not a one of us that isn’t touched by commerce. Whether it’s driving, the Federal Reserve notes (which doesn’t pay off the debt, it only discharges the debt), banking, credit cards, or anything else dealing with the public side ( debt side). We’re dependent on the illusion of currency. We all know that congress had to pass an amendment declaring FRNs legal tender. Which none of us can escape from. Why? Because no one knew to rebut the state’s assertion of their presumption that the all upper case name isn’t us. That we are actually the living sole, creators of the government. Collectively known as WE THE PEOPLE
To understand this we need to know what happened after the War of Northern Aggression. Consider this; prior to the war, there were only two recognized types of citizens. A state Citizen and a Natural Born Citizen. Now, there has been created a new type of citizen, a United States citizen, a national citizen, controlled by a national government. With absolute control over the States and the citizen.

BTW, Citizen is no longer spelled in upper case, because we’re no longer a Sovereign, merely a subject, or a citizen, if you like.

Politicians are showmen. They are giving a spectacle and meanwhile nothing changes. The “System” remains firmly in place, i.e. a society not based on the needs of the people but based on profits for some (with profits come social status, power etc…)

The situation is similar to what Sir Thomas More described in his famous book “Utopia” 500 years ago:

“Therefore I must say that, as I hope for mercy, I can have no other notion of all the other governments that I see or know, than that they are a conspiracy of the rich, who, on pretence of managing the public, only pursue their private ends, and devise all the ways and arts they can find out; first, that they may, without danger, preserve all that they have so ill-acquired, and then, that they may engage the poor to toil and labour for them at as low rates as possible, and oppress them as much as they please; and if they can but prevail to get these contrivances established by the show of public authority, which is considered as the representative of the whole people, then they are accounted laws; yet these wicked men, after they have, by a most insatiable covetousness, divided that among themselves with which all the rest might have been well supplied…”

It is the same pattern today but worst because we are in the return of the days of Noah just before the Second Coming of Jesus, which Coming I pray the Rosary for because I do have seen enough…
