Listen to a reading of this article:

Studying the unfolding of the new mainstream UFO narrative has been very interesting, because it highlights the dynamics I always talk about in a fresh light which makes them easier to point to.

One theme that keeps resurfacing is people marvelling at how low-key the public response to the whole thing has been. One might expect the US government officially stating that the military has been frequently encountering strange unknown aircraft of unthinkable technological advancement would rank a little higher in public interest, but so far that really hasn’t been the case.

A YouTuber recently summed up this sentiment with a 13-minute rant about how weird it is that everyone isn’t screaming about this all day long:

I’ve seen numerous attempts to explain the unexpectedly apathetic response to the fact that UFOs are in the news every day now, the most common being that people have so much on their plate these days that even the possibility of extraterrestrials buzzing US navy ships just doesn’t rank high on their priorities. Others suggest that it’s such an obvious military psyop that the public is dismissive of the story.

Neither of these offerings are particularly convincing in my opinion. We see vapid nonsense attracting mountains of public interest every day, so the idea that people have no mental bandwidth for this story doesn’t hold water. While the belief that the UFO narrative looks like some kind of military psyop is widely accepted among the sort of people who’d be likely to read this article (I’ve been saying it for a while now myself), skepticism toward suspicious US government claims is not a very widespread posture for people to hold in the mainstream public.

It seems pretty clear to me that the reason there’s not as much public interest in this story as you’d expect is because it doesn’t fit neatly into any of the little boxes that people have been trained to file news into in this society. There’s no partisan angle to it, so it doesn’t appeal to any of the egoic constructs to which the general public tends to hook incendiary news stories.

The likelihood of a news story going viral in our society has little to do with its newsworthiness, its unusualness, or even whether or not it is factually accurate. The single most likely factor in whether or not a news story will have mass appeal is whether it appears to validate the worldview of one of the two mainstream political factions. This is why the mainstream media have been deliberately sowing partisan divisiveness and marketing toward increasingly distant partisan echo chambers instead of just reporting the news; they have an obvious profit motive to do so, because tickling people’s egos with hate porn and illusory validation is the best way to get clicks and generate ad revenue.

This is why those who promoted the theory that Trump was a secret Russian agent saw their ratings soar for years before it was conclusively discredited by the very Special Counsel they’d been literally singing Christmas carols and lighting prayer candles to until then. There is more evidence that space aliens are cruising around in Earth’s atmosphere than there ever was that Vladimir Putin had covertly infiltrated the highest levels of the US government, but because it inflamed liberal passions and made them feel like their partisan worldview was about to be vindicated any minute, it sold like crack.

You can immediately tell if something is going to go viral by how politically tinged it is and how mainstream the appeal of those politics are. A story about how schools want to make your kids transgender. A popular conservative acting like an idiot. A black Trump supporter saying Trump isn’t racist. Marjorie Taylor Greene doing literally anything. Take it too far outside the mainstream, like the US government getting caught tampering with an OPCW investigation in Syria for example, and you won’t see a ton of clicks, but if it appeals to tens of millions of mainstream partisans you will.

In a society that’s enslaved to egoic consciousness as ours is, the things that generate the most public interest will be those which flatter or infuriate common egoic constructs. This is not unique to politics; advertisers have raked in vast fortunes by associating products with common cultural mind viruses like body image issues and personal inadequacy, and TV show hosts like Jerry Springer and Maury Povich figured out decades ago that you can attract massive ratings by letting people feel smug and superior at the sight of poor and uneducated guests acting out emotionally.

To make something go viral, it needs to appeal to the ego. Advertisers understand this. Media executives understand this. Propagandists understand this.

Creating big psychological identity structures out of our politics makes the job of the propagandists so very much easier; it’s like a lubricant which lets mass-scale psyops glide smoothly into public consciousness. From there it’s a very easy task to get people hating Russia or China for this or that partisan reason, or to get people believing Trump or Biden are helping the American people despite their both continuing and expanding the same murderous and oppressive status quo of their predecessors.

This is why the partisan divide is the most heated and contentious it’s ever been, while the actual behavior of each mainstream party when it’s in power brings in only the most superficial of changes. The oligarchs who own the political/media class desire the continuation of the status quo upon which they have built their empire, but they also want to keep the public as plugged in as possible to the partisan perspectives which facilitate the propaganda that cages our minds.

The solution to this, on an individual level, is to dismantle any egoic attachment you might have to either of the mainstream political factions which preserve the status quo. This includes any attachment to the phony populism of progressive Democrats, and it includes any attachment to the phony populism of Trumpian Republicans. These factions within the mainstream factions are themselves propaganda constructs which will never be permitted to advance any agenda that isn’t desired by the oligarchic empire; they serve only to keep people who would be inclined to reject mainstream politics plugged in to mainstream politics.

And of course the ultimate solution to this problem is for humanity to awaken from the ego. All propaganda relies on egoic hooks in public consciousness to circulate itself, so if humanity begins dropping its habit of creating psychological identity structures altogether (which it looks like it might), we will become harder and harder to propagandize. Since humanity’s collective problems ultimately boil down to the fact that sociopaths manipulate our minds at mass scale, such a transformation would make a healthy new world not just possible but inevitable.

Interesting, but does this or does this not mean my well-documented contention that women in the West, on average, do better than men in nearly every category relevant to well-being, will go viral?

  2. As Rhett Butler said to Scarlett; “Frankly my dear I don’t give a damn!”I have a real life, I don’t need the agitprop from anyone any more, I never did! As I used to say, “you obviously have me confused with someone who gives a shit, I don’t”!

  3. I call it, bullshit fatigue! The unending omnipresent bullshit is everywhere you look, everything you hear; we is saturated in bullshit and like a super saturated solution, just can’t accept any more.

  4. We are under threat of vastly more horrific actions perpetrated by governments than any threat from UFOs might be. Sterilizing the planet is just a bit more worrisome than space aliens taking over. We are already being raised and used like livestock.

  5. Maybe we could start a rumour/conspiracy.
‘The US is amassing nuclear weapons, missiles, bombers and drones inside its five or six top secret military bases in Australia, because it is geographically strategic in the fight against our Northern enemies’
Who knows. It might even be true.

  6. The propaganda novocaine on the UFO subject injected by the Oilygawky’s Reich Information Ministry across decades may have an ironic side effect: it might numb the effect “Blue Beam” – one of the code words used to describe a (Wernher von Braun, others-) predicted fake alien invasion into a flop – should our loving $hepherds figure that COVID was/is not enough of a herding tool.

  7. No, humanity will not awaken from the ego. That is wishful thinking. Some of humanity will wake up when the technocratic-military-industrial-complex implodes and this civilization ends in chaos. Yeshua promoted a brilliant, practical, but very challenging strategy to precipitate the downfall of the evil empire. He instructed His followers to withdrawn financial support and to refuse to cooperate in state crimes against humanity. Yeshua means Liberator in Hebrew, and His strategy will one day liberate humanity. Read more of this here: http://www.wisdompage.com/2013%20Articles/Molyneaux%20essay.pdf

it seems as if the difference between the democrats and republicans is that the democrats want to oppress the poor for being poor while the republicans want to oppress the poor for being outsiders. The democrats use the idea of equality to establish tyranny against the poor while the republicans use elitism to establish tyranny against the poor, but in ether case oppressing the poor is the business model, different rationalizations, same ends. The democrats want to unite Americans as equals in wars against foreigners while the Republicans want to divide Americans into winners and losers in civil wars, so both parties support classism and war, no one wants justice or peace, that’s not how to make a buck.

  9. ‘Since humanity’s collective problems ultimately boil down to the fact that sociopaths manipulate our minds…..’

The vast majority of propaganda is concocted and designed to target peoples emotions – ie evoke fear, hate etc – and over-ride critical thinking and/or common sense, as such.

    1. Here’s a perfect example regarding Jeremy Corbyn from several years ago – ie a Big Lie, and repeated three times in the space of four minutes:

      https://www.jewishvoiceforlabour.org.uk/article/expose-who-are-the-board-of-deputies-of-british-jews/

      1. Having a determined, coordinated, prolonged and unremitting campaign probably has as much to do with the Board of Deputies’ success as targetting emotions.
        ~
Van der Zyl once boasted “the only difference between me and a Rottweiler is that a Rottweiler eventually lets go”.

BoD have shown … that they can “keep this issue of antisemitism on the front pages day after day, week after week, exacting a severe political and reputational cost for continued failure” until Labour are prepared to repent and change.

        1. Yes, exactly! Repetition – of a falsehood/big lie – is the other side of the coin. It’s a subtle form of brain-washing, and needless to say, people are not conscious of the fact that it’s being done to them.

The following is a clip from Medialens latest piece:

By the time Jeremy Corbyn stood for the leadership of the Labour Party in May 2015, he had been a Labour MP for 32 years. As a leading anti-war voice, he had received plenty of attention and abuse from corporate politics and media.

We searched the ProQuest media database for national UK newspaper articles containing mentions of ‘Corbyn’ and ‘anti-semitism’ before 1 May 2015. The search found 18 articles, none of which accused Corbyn of anti-semitism. Then, in November 2019, the month before the last general election, we searched for mentions of ‘Corbyn’ and ‘anti-semitism’ after 1 May 2015. We got 15,857 hits. The figure currently stands at 21,919.

  10. We all have been through this for decades. After losing credibility, jobs, family and friends, people simply don’t give a fuck anymore to what the government had as secret and now it wants to be public. They protect with fear or jealousy so many things, so let them have it all. With lucky the ufos will exterminate all military and governments around.

Thanks to the failures and impotence and lack of spiritual vitality of organized religions in America, the USA Uniparty (being two sides of the same ugly coin) of Reps and Dems now serves as the dominant civil religion in America.

The Faithful Believers in these two-branded Cults have pledged their loyalty and passion and precious spiritual energy into these False Civil Religions with the passion of an old evangelist in heat. Sordid politics has come in to fill the void created by those social spiritual institutions that should be serving the need for leading one to purpose and belonging but which instead have become empty, irrelevant, passionless, leaderless, and void of True Spirit. And, an embarrassment to having any real faith and honest belief and true reference for our Source Creator.

Nature hates a vacuum, so the expansive political class of grifters and deceivers was more than happy to step in to help hijack the spiritual emptiness that has conquered America and much of the World at large.

So… to ask the wayward American sheep to ‘dismantle egoic attachment’ to these Political Clown Show Organizations is asking an awful lot. Instead, people have and will double-down and triple-down if need be with their egos and their time and energy to travel deeper down the Dead End Road to Hades that these political cartoon characters are waving them down. People are going headlong into The Abyss with fire in their eyes and whistling happy tunes to their fellow deluded faithful while at the same cursing all those who don’t worship the same False God that they do.

There ARE answers to many of today’s dilemmas. The problem is that too many people today DON’T WANT THE ANSWERS. They are too happy actively participating in their own demise and kissing the feet of false gods. And trying to get others to go down the Hades Highway with them.

I think that a big part of the reason that people are not reacting much to the UFO phenomenon is that all we get to see are some lights moving weirdly on a screen, which we are told are UFO’s.
What would wake up public reaction would be a landing, or some kind of alien being getting out of the space vehicle and communicating to us earthlings. THEN people would be very interested!

    1. Maybe, but until then — which is likely to be a long time — people just think the UFOs are clownish and stupid, like the rest of the Gobmutt, and have become bored with it. There are many better comedies on TV.

  13. Personally I think it simply shows that the b/s was an attempt by the military to promote military spending, however, the military is not very proficient in propaganda (or anything really) so it fell kind of flat.

Had the CIA been behind it, you would be starring at it on facebook right now – there would be a song and a dance and a cat video by now.

I agree with you Caitlin, they dont care who we are rootin for as long as we are in there yelling and screaming and hating the other side. Gives the little people something to do. We have two choices (team red and team blue), what more does one need really?

I read that the Greeks actually favored a system called Sortition – because after all, the wealthy would control elections. That’s why they are extinct, I suppose.

  14. Caitlin, usually I agree with almost everything you state. But in this article, you need some heavy correction(in love, you are my favorite commentator). The media is not giving us content to advance sales, although they do want the circulation. The establishment newsmedia is dominated by the CIA. I prove this in my book ANGRY LOUD AND CLEAR TRUTH. In addition, over a hundred newsmedia moguls are present in the 300 membership COUNCIL ON FOREIGN RELATIONS where my book shows how Rockefeller (the councils founder and who appoints all membership) has directed how and what the newsmedia reports. I include quotes. Rockefeller’s line have also created the health and education system as we know it to be today. As you know, fascism is defined as “government by corporations” Furthermore, the whole idea of partisanship, and the division caused by it and the contradicting information fed to right wing and left wing media sources is intentional. DIVIDE AND CONQUER, TO KEEP US DIVERTED AND QUIBBLING AGAINST ONE ANOTHER RATHER THAN TO FIGHT THE REAL ENEMY (OUR RULERS)IS THE PURPOSE OF PARTISANSHIP AND FAULTY NEWS REPORTING=SUBVERSION AND DIVERSION KEEPS US CONFUSED AND DIVIDED

  15. https://www.johndayblog.com/2021/06/charm-initiative.html
I’m going on a charm initiative (I was going to say “charm offensive”, but it’s …).
A couple of days ago I emailed the Medical Directors at my clinic about the Houston nurses (and others) fired for their refusal to accept experimental genetic engineering “vaccinations” into their bodies.
I said that having given it deep consideration, and not thinking that our clinic would act this way (I don’t), that if such an edict came down from Washington I would have to resign my position.
My statement of principle and position was politely received, with the reply that this was not a near-term consideration.
I have made the loss of my services a set-piece going forward. I don’t really want that. I have worked 17 (discontinuous) years at this clinic. I am versatile in what services I can provide, broadly experienced, do very good work, as judged by patients and reviewers, grow the vegetable garden, and go pretty slowly. I am not “productive” as business managers judge those things, or as payers reimburse. I am a money loser.
I have not taken a vacation, and have lost almost all of that time by not using it, in the 8 continuous years I have been working there recently. I work all day every Friday. Nobody wants to do that. I work a 12 hour long 8-hour shift, and I don’t leave until everything is done.
Since I am not monetarily “productie”, I seek to be generally helpful and to prevent bad things from happening on my watches.
Fifteen years ago, when “the kids” were teenagers, we sold the house and cars, and traveled around the world with bikes and backpacks.
We were “home schooling” the kids. It worked out fine. They learned stuff. Nobody missed a year.
Two places we visited taught the same lesson, Dachau concentration camp in Germany, and Tuol Sleng torture prison museum in Cambodia.
The lesson was not that the people who did those things were monsters.
The torturers and guards were ordinary people, which is a really important insight. They got mired in a sequence of slightly easier decisions to not quite do the right thing this time. They entered Hell gradually, having no-other-choice, each little step of the way, as they saw it.
Things did not get better. Things did not go back to normal.
Knowing this feature of history, one must determine how one would avoid getting caught in such a trap, should it be laid for them. One must act when one still has some autonomy. That is pretty early in the process, clearly before things “get bad”. When does the frog jump out of the progressively warming water?
What might be the signal? You can see that I have chosen the signal of forced injection of genetic-engineering black-boxes, the elimination of personal choice regarding bodily autonomy, as my hill-to-die-upon.
I’d rather not die on that hill, so to speak, but I can’t work in a setting that has adopted that human-as-property ethos.
I’m going to find ways to be even nicer and more useful than usual. I think the vegetable garden emails that everybody likes are going to become a bit more frequent.
The garden is producing. It’s June.

    1. Kaing Guek Eav, aka Duch, the former head of S21/Tuol Sleng, didn’t regard himself as getting ‘mired in a sequence of slightly easier decisions to not quite do the right thing.’ Years later, he said he had done the right thing, following orders from his superiors in Democratic Kampuchea. It was not his fault if they were bad orders. Not an attitude I understand, but it was his.

    2. Apparently (I read), it has become a “thing” – people quitting because they are fed-up with serving this system. I did so myself – calling it an early retirement.
I will find something mindless and not very productive to do so I can focus my energy on quality of life and lower stress – will need to learn to get by with less.
As someone pointed out in another blog: If you are serving this system, then you are responsible for it’s atrocities.

    3. I was in the health field (a case manager in ICMS- for mentally ill adults)and earning $28,000. UPon perceiving the faultiness in the health field, and that nobody truly benefited, and that there were better treatments than those promoted within the system, I quit. I have never earned more than $19,000 since or before then. I am not stupid, despite less than a year traditional college education (I am self-educated) I have been hired to lecture to graduate students of social work for 15 years, and have authored three major works of books. I have no regrets having quit, have founded three nonprofit organizations, and volunteered 45,000 hours effective unpaid work. NO regrets over my poor income, living on the basics. I like who I see in the mirror. I like that none are harmed on your watch. But who is truly helped? And why do you work in a field that is totally bought? I debunk the entire field in ANGRY LOUD AND CLEAR TRUTH. If you are complicit in administration of vaccinations of covid, you are a murderer. Just sayin. HOw do you look in the mirror and not puke? QUIT YOUR JOB, OR JUST KILL YOURSELF. iF all the doctors and nurses did as i have, the world would be a better place. But they all love money and are all fuckin hypocrites.

As a cancer survivor I want my immune system free of suspect, now unproven, genetic manipulation, via the *vaccines*, my way of denoting the ‘experimental status’ on humans. I follow several blogs that actually report the nasty sides of the *vaccines*. I would never, ever, give them to a child. I’m childless by choice. Good points all. Peace

    5. I think it’s good to fire nurses who are too crazy to get a vaccine. If they deny science and spread a deadly virus, then they have no business being near sick people. Why should the rest of us suffer for their paranoia? What if they decide electricity is evil and start unplugging life support equipment?

      1. Why should anyone suffer when there are safe & effective treatment protocols?
Since you and all the other “sane” people are “protected” by injections, what’s your problem?
I suppose you think the injections are risk-free, denying the science that says otherwise.
Your attitude is callous, uncomprehending, and simpleminded.

        1. Dont criticize KNox- HE got his information where everybody does-tv and the news which the reporters tell you that science says the vaccines are safe and effective. All the anti-vaxxers and “hesitant” people are stupid- they research themselves and listen to doctors who they trust and who explain the science to their satisfaction. Dont’ underestimate the wisdom of those who watch television. It can be trusted, our political leadership is trustworthy and has integrity, and reporters know science when the government says so.

      2. Too crazy to take a vaccine that has NOT been approved by the FDA, has had ZERO long term testing, and is producing an extraordinary amount of adverse reactions? They have already killed more than 5,000 in the US, more than all other vaccines combined for at least the last 10 years. Some of those other vaccines were pulled from the market for as few as 50 deaths. Why do the COVID vaccines get a pass for 5,000? No one with two or more brain cells that get along simply “decided” that the vaccines are evil. The evidence is quite clear that they are.

        1. Nearly four million dead worldwide. Too crazy is an understatement.

          1. Yet by some miracle, over all world wide deaths did not significantly increase, and influenza and tuberculosis disappeared.. Take someone with you if you are buying a used car.

            1. Science is real, Rush Limbaugh was lying to you. It’s nearly four million dead already, hopefully I won’t need to remind everybody when it hits five million.

  16. Summary: “Nothing will fundamentally change.”

Of course, the US use of UFOs goes back to the 1950s where a great many of Hollywood’s ‘Bug-Eyed Monster’ movies were actually financed by the US military. The phrase ‘Bug-Eyed Monsters’ of course needed to be replaced by the term ‘Red Menace’, to get the full flavour of those early joint ventures betweem Hollywood and the DoD’s propaganda onslaught on the American mind.

I believe people have lost confidence in the MSM and are rapidly losing confidence in government. This Covid Vaccine fiasco is starting to make them lose confidence in science. It seems the bedrock institutions that stabilize society are failing and society is beginning to unravel.

    1. In some countries. I don’t get that impression at all here.

      1. “Whereas in the spring of 2020 people in both more democratic [ie. Western?] and less democratic countries were equally satisfied with their government’s pandemic response (70%), a year later the approval ratings have dropped down to 65% in less democratic countries, but in more democratic countries the rating has fallen to 51%. In Europe the figure is 45%. Positive ratings reach 76% in Asia.”
        https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/may/05/us-threat-democracy-russia-china-global-poll

        1. To believe the Guardian or the survey takers would be foolishness, but I am sure that many citizens worldwide are more aware than this survey attests to. Of course, the US is the most dangerous enemy to democracy, in my estimation, the real numbers are far more negative towards the US, and especially regarding how the government reacts to covid. I cannot believe the people have that much favor of their government. IT is a well-known fact that survey results are slanted to make one think that his opinions (the truth)are held by the minority, as people are a herd instinct animal and prefer to be in numbers- few have the courage to stand alone with beliefs and opinions, so it behooves the rulers’ media to make opinions supportive of the rulers; to silence dissent.

          1. 51% in ‘more democratic countries’ is barely an overall majority, even if the poll was skewed to reflect favourably on those countries’ governments.
