If you thought western mass media have been brazenly pushy with their anti-China propaganda, wait til you see The Hill’s appalling new opinion piece titled “America must prepare for war with China over Taiwan“.

“China’s massive investment in the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) may show China is preparing to fundamentally change the status quo and preparing for possible war with the United States over Taiwan,” the piece begins. “To deter China, the United States must rapidly build up its forces in the Pacific, continue to strengthen military alliances in the region to ensure access to bases in time of conflict, and accelerate deliveries of purchased military equipment to Taiwan.”

The article goes on to narrate about Taiwan’s importance on the global chessboard and why we should all expect a full-scale invasion by Beijing quite soon, casually discusses a direct military conflict between two nuclear-armed nations like it’s no big deal, and calls on the Biden administration to “articulate to the American people why Taiwan’s defense is critical to the United States.”

Then at the very bottom of the article you get to the part that really matters: the information about the author.

David Sauer is a retired senior CIA officer who served as chief of station and deputy chief of station in multiple overseas command positions in East Asia and South Asia.

Ahh, okay.

The CIA used to have to infiltrate the media. Now the CIA is the media.

Apparently this “retired” senior CIA officer has been spending his “retirement” churning out war propaganda articles for The Hill with titles like “The US cannot allow China to think it will abandon Taiwan” and “The next US president has a tall order: Keeping China in check“, as well as acting as an expert source for virulent anti-China propaganda rag The Epoch Times.

Would you like to know what this big brave warrior looks like? Would you like to see a picture of this mighty hero who has no fear of leading us all into a third world war?

Here he is:

Now that’s the face of a man who’d be first to volunteer for duty on the front lines in defense of what he believes in. You look at that man and can’t help but imagine him charging into Taipei bleeding red white and blue firing an M4 carbine for freedom and democracy. He’s not just talking about sending our sons and daughters into this war, no siree.

Why is it that all the worst warmongering narrative managers are always weird-looking little nerds who plainly wouldn’t know how to hold their own dicks, much less a gun? Were they bullied so bad in school that they just have to act out their pent-up aggression by helping to incinerate families in the global south over crude oil or something? What the hell is wrong with these freaks?

Anyone who supports the idea of the US and its allies entering into a third world war against a nuclear-armed nation to determine who governs an island off the Chinese mainland is an enemy of humanity. Such a war could easily kill tens of millions of people if engaged with full commitment, which could turn into billions at any time if it went nuclear. I hope Beijing never launches an unprovoked attack on Taiwan (unlikely), and I hope the US doesn’t provoke it into doing so (far more likely), but if all this brinkmanship spins out of control and that does indeed happen then entering into such a war to stop it would benefit nobody but a few sociopaths in Washington, Langley and Arlington. And quite possibly not even them.

Contrary to what propagandists like Sauer keep implying, the US is not even treaty-bound to defend Taiwan militarily and hasn’t been since 1979 when the only such treaty was annulled during Washington’s campaign to coax Beijing away from the Soviet Union. Yet because of their steadily escalating propaganda campaign, for the first time ever a majority of Americans surveyed on whether they’d support going to war with China over Taiwan now reportedly say yes

At best all these manipulations are geared toward manufacturing consent for pouring vastly increased military resources into the US empire’s ongoing pivot to Asia, which just by itself will necessarily include myriad provocations against the Chinese government which can easily escalate into war at any time. These people are playing games with the lives of every living organism on this planet, and they are suffering no consequences for doing so.

And now Moscow and Beijing are moving further into a military partnership that seems to be getting closer by the year in response to aggressions from the US and its client states, which, I dunno, I’m no historian but maybe might be cause for alarm when you’ve got world powers splitting into two increasingly hostile global alliances. Could that lead to something bad? It seems like maybe that could lead to something bad.

Cornered animals are dangerous, especially ones with fangs and claws. Dying empires are dangerous, especially ones with nuclear weapons. We’re being aggressively propagandized into consenting to insanely dangerous agendas geared toward maintaining US unipolar hegemony in defiance of the natural movement we are seeing toward a multipolar world. We are seeing signs everywhere that the drivers of empire are preparing to do some very, very crazy things in order to stop that movement and maintain their dominance. The fact that they are still ramping up their propaganda campaign is concerning, to say the least.

  1. WHy WHy WHy, oh dear me why?

STFU you sound like a dumb whining broad.

  2. Caitlin you are so right about this nuclear war thing. But there are some things war is good for;

    http://cheapdudejones.blogspot.com/2014/03/

I wrote about it trying to make pacifists of my redneck friends. I love what you are doing, keep it up, and if you like my writing steal as much as you like.

  3. China is well prepared and determined to prevent the US annexing Taiwan. The US never win a war against Red China, not in the Korea War, not in the Vietnam War, nor even in the Chinese Civil War that Chiang Kai-shek acted as the US proxy and Red China was in its embryo stage.

I agree. Both sides have weapons, science and technology that would be far too costly to the other, in a major conflict, to take the risk. But sociopaths have an undying ‘need’ for total control, and that will never change, unless sociopaths are correctly profiled and eliminated, globally.

  4. “China’s massive investment in the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) may show China is preparing to fundamentally change the status quo and preparing for possible war.” Just reverse the propaganda stenography. It virtually always works: “The U.S.’ massive investment in [this warmongering propaganda campaign] may show [the U.S.] is preparing to fundamentally change the status quo and preparing for [an actual, forced] war.”

  5. If ‘this’ is still ‘the policy’?

“By the time you got to the first Bush administration, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, they came out with a national defense policy and strategic policy. What they basically said is that we’re going to have wars against what they called much weaker enemies and these have to be carried out quickly and decisively or else there will be embarrassment—a way of saying that popular reaction is going to set in. And that’s the way it’s been. It’s not pretty, but it’s some kind of constraint.”

  6. Not to fear, the ongoing cross pollination throughout all global markets have pretty well ensured that any hammer dropped cannot help but fall upon one’s own toes to an ever-increasing degree. There exist select groups and inter-related groups of people who already own and basically control this whole world for all practical purposes. It would be illogical to destroy themselves and their own like kind. What remains is for our collective owners to fully manage and control the rest of us, the art form of which continues to evolve at an exponential rate. The degree of social engineering currently in operation is at once both marvelous and terrifying. My guess, if the public can identify a “leader”, in reality it’s probably a puppet of the overlords. Has AI taken over? What is cooking in the quantum flux? Nevertheless, “The best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men. Gang aft a-gley”. – Robert Burns

  7. im still seeing a lot of anti Russia propaganda, they are keeping the options open on who to attack.

    1. There’s someone for everyone to be afraid of. I think It’s time for us Americans to start making friends of our so called enemies. Our aggressive behavior is costing us a lot of (borrowed) money, and when we run out it would be nice to have friends instead of enemies in places like Russia and China. If there is an unprovoked attack on Taiwan we’ll have enough time to get mad all over again. If there isn’t, we’ll have time for socialist transformation.

      1. makes a lot of sense to me. im more worried about our aggressive behavior costing tens or hundreds of millions of lives, but yeah there is no need for this provocative crap.

  8. Yes, it’s scary as hell. It sounds and looks really bad. I just don’t believe it.
The USA couldn’t fly its planes a week without China to manufacture the electronics and many other parts besides.
The capitalists did not sell the communists the rope, as Nikita Krushchev predicted, but they did ship the rope factories, stock and machine, to the communists, who were only too happy to take over production.
I think it is important to understand that the USA is no longer an industrial country. It has nothing but bluster, bullying, and the world’s oil reserve currency between itself and becoming the second world non-player its current real economy and society rates.
The global financial cartels are still using the US military to accomplish their ends only because they haven’t finalized their design of the agreement that will replace Bretton Woods. When that pie is sliced to their satisfaction, the USA will be abandoned by those who have bled it dry. Its people will of course be blamed for the crimes done in their name, and to some extent, rightly so.
China, with its bustle, hustle, and its ripped new industrial muscle, will be the engine of the new order.
All the little quisling nerds who have worked so hard to make this possible will be out of work, some satisfaction, as the citizens of the former superpower discover that, no, selling each other car insurance does not an economy make.
I do not believe microdicks like the cited wanker will be allowed to destroy the playground our parasite class have at long last nearly secured through the pandemic scare and its “emergency” measures. I do believe the new totalitarians will eventually cull many millions, perhaps billions, from the human pop worldwide, just not overtly with blunt instruments like nukes.

    1. Alan, my thoughts exactly. For what it’s worth, as a returned serviceman, I cannot imagine the peanut photographed for this article, standing in a foxhole beside me. I suspect two throws of the shovel and this guy would collapse in a heap. It’s always types like this, that push for conflict, yet when the front line is checked out, you’ll never find these types anywhere near it. Then when the conflict is over, these worms will again surface and try to capture creditability IF the action turned out in their favor. If not, these types won’t ever show their faces again. Good riddance.

  10. Caitlin thanks for a sobering account which the MSM would never print. We are marching towards Armaggedon and someone needs to sound the alarm!! Keep up the good work!

  11. A person who advocates war is, in effect, a potential murder. He/she has expressed a wish to see people being killed in the name of a perceived problem or cause. He has committed the crime of incitement to kill, which in his own country would get him a prison sentence, but gets him praise if the people he wants killed are foreigners!

Were China to take over Taiwan without interference from any other country, how many people would die? Nobody knows, exactly – it would depend on how much resistance Taiwan put up, and how much effort the Chinese invaders made to minimise the number of deaths.

But the number is almost certainly far far less than if the USA and China fought a war, which could even lead to a global conflict that would kill a large percentage of the world’s population. Millions or even billions.

No country has the right, or justification, to start a war that would threaten the whole world, billions – or for that matter one single person.

  12. A few billion kilograms of dust in the atmosphere will certainly cool down a heating planet.
    Handy, that.

  13. These Seppo arse wipes who support a war with China will get a big surprise. An attack on a peer country will bring war and massive devastation to the US home land. Idiots are so use to waring on defenceless countries have no idea what’s it be like.

  14. Sometimes I wonder what it is that warmongers love so much that they are willing to burn to toast millions of innocent people for it? I wish someone would ask them.

    1. Money. Funny enough this kind of saber-rattling always happens when the Pentagon is handing out the begging bowl. We also hear that the US military is lagging behind.

Meanwhile General Milley directly phones his Chinese counterpart over the president’s head and CIA director Burns goes to Moscow to meet top dogs there.

      1. Pascal is right. I don’t think he believes much in Jesus, and the history of Christianity would back him up on that. But Jesus’ central teaching, at least as it’s come down to us, is as valid today as it was 2000 years ago. There are two gods, he reportedly said, only two. One he called Abba, the other mammon–money and the power it brings. And you WILL, he warned us, wind up serving one or the other, because that’s how you’re made. And then it gets worse. Even if you start out wanting to serve Abba, if you get too much money, you’ll end up serving it instead. Not the message you hear in church, is it (assuming a few of you go on occasion)? Well, here it is straight down the pipe. No need to spend a buck on the booklet. Just read the free into by clicking on the cover.

        1. He doesn’t believe in Jesus. He is a Judaic – as are most of the war propagandists. How do I know this? Since 9/11 I have researched every ‘talking head’ who came/comes on media channels to talk up war. They are all from the same tribe.

  15. Hi Caitlin, I have been reading your articles for a long time, you always do great reporting. I think that the Empire will implode from within. The USA empire is in a state of turmoil and unrest. When a countries last four Presidents are Bush, Obama, Trump and now Biden – who does not know what day it is you can only come to the decision that the government is not making the decisions or calling the shots. And now with AUKUS and the QUAD the world is not safe. One can only hope that China and Russia are playing the long game with their strategic decision making. I heard a comment that said that – The West is controlling the narrative (propaganda) but China is controlling the outcomes. I think it would be better for China and Russia to bypass the USA government deal directly the the Deep state go to the actual decision makers. (just my opinions). Please continue the excellent work.

    1. I suspect that’s what is actually going on. Biden has nothing to do with policy; whether Xi does I have no idea but I suspect even the cabal running the world are not so barking-into-the-briefcase insane as to seriously risk nuclear war. They may well have had private meetings with the top dogs in Russia and China and agreed that there will be dreadful saber rattling but nobody’s gonna actually do anything stupid. The point is to condition the populace into accepting an even higher percentage of taxpayer funds–primarily from the middle class–going into “defense,” the point of which is to send even more wealth to the extremely rich, which is the only purpose of the US government and likely most others.

  16. How accurate is this report about the capture and detainment of Australian Aboriginals.

“The Australian government of the Northern Territories is now using military soldiers and army trucks to forcibly round up indigenous people who have merely been near someone else who tested “positive” for covid. With families being separated at gunpoint, one of the most horrifying predictions we made has now come true: Military / medical martial law where innocent civilians are being rounded up at gunpoint and taken to what are essentially covid concentration camps…”

    https://www.naturalnews.com/2021-11-23-australia-begins-covid-ethnic-cleansing-with-military-roundups-of-indigenous-people.html#

    1. The way politicians in the Northern Territories talk to the taxpayers who pay their salaries – even those who haven’t voted for them – is jaw-dropping. They obviously think the overblown Covid threat allows them to shed their sheep’s clothing and that they’re feudal dukes, counts and barons who own the joint.

  17. Just exactly WHAT do people do after they’re all woke up — pick up a gun; guillotine some VIPs; march hand in hand down Penn. Ave. forever and demand, demand, demand that the Elite behave better, or else?

Here’s what you are eventually going to HAVE TO DO because

    there. is. no. other. way.

If you do not want More Of The Same that you’ve gotten after every election in the past, do not vote for another R or D, ever, no matter what an R or D promises! Jimmy Dore explains EXACTLY why.

    1. i like how fair Jimmy Dore is to Kulinski, after being thrown under the bus by him.

    2. I DUMPED “BOTH” OF THOSE LYING, WARMONGERING CORPORATE OLIGARCH PARTIES YEARS AGO!
I REFUSE to choose between “two” EVILS! THAT’S STILL VOTING FOR EVIL!
Why won’t more “voters” DUMP THESE LYING OLIGARCH WARMONGERS?
WHY are ‘mericans SO DAM STUPID?

  18. I am so over the Hill.

    1. im kinda surprised at what they let me get away with in the comment section. fingers crossed, they won’t ban me like google.

  19. “What the hell is wrong with these freaks?”
The answer is in the question :o)

  20. You and I are old-school and can look at Sauer and doubt whether he can even aim an AK. Then there’s Bolton. Cannot figure whether his posture and mustache are an homage to Hitler or to Charlie Chaplin. And Pomposo – ’nuff said…

The pro-war poll concerning the Taiwan province that you mentioned has a very dubious provenance. I don’t hear anything about such an attitude in my rather wide and diverse acquaintanceship, MSM notwithstanding. Rather I sense some tension among folks waiting to see what the ptb try to pull off.

Only people who get all their news and information from mainstream corporate (CIA) media believe in pursuing America’s imperialist wars. Unfortunately, far too many working people still listen to the instructions beamed at them through their televisions. As you’ve correctly pointed out, Caitlin, Americans are the most heavily propagandized population on earth. I got rid of my television 10 years ago and only get my information from alternative (non-corporate) media. Thanks for your work in enlightening people.

  22. For now we can sleep in peace, but it won’t always be like this. This time it will be a world war not only by name. This will be a mutual slaughter. “The great power sword” will also be used. (Revelation 6:4) Jesus characterized him in this way: “A frightening things both and extraordinary (related to unusual phenomena) from sky powerful will be.” (Luke 21:11) Some ancient manuscripts contain the words “and frosts”. The Aramaic Peshitta: “and will be great frosts”. We call this today “nuclear winter”. In Mark 13:8 there are also words of Jesus: “and disorders” (in the sense of confusion and chaos). The Aramaic Peshitta: “and confusion” (on the state of public order). There will be also significant tremors along the length and breadth of the regions, food shortages and epidemics as a result of using this weapon. Jesus stated: “All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.” (Matthew 24:8) Jesus also said: “But ye will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that ye be not disturbed; for all [these things] must take place, but it is not yet the fulfillment [of the sign].” (Matthew 24:6) The global nuclear war, (this will be the fulfillment of the sign of Jesus), will start with an ethnic conflict: “For nation will rise against nation”, like as in 2008 in Georgia. (Matthew 24:7) And there is probably no point in accelerating this war.

  23. Solid and scary as always. One note, though: the ad hominem body shaming and pop-psych putdowns are not worth the laugh. If anyone is laughing. You undercut your argument and expose yourself to easy dismissal. So the guy is a weird looking nerd. What’s that to anyone? Was he bullied in school? Possibly. Doesn’t say anything about his politics. Might even increase my sympathy.
It’s a dead end and it backfires.

  25. The existential problem of the ‘dying Empire’ is that once the dollar is no longer a global reserve currency and all that debt comes due, America would be quickly bankrupt. Only by maintaining global dominance can its financial system survive. Doubly dangerous.

    1. i dont know about survive but the whole house of cards depends on that. it would certainly hurt the relative position of the oligarchs who run things.

  26. Spot on Caitlin, I’ve only found your site recently, still to explore the art and song. What I find difficult (I’m in the UK) is how resistant the propagandised are to taking an alternate view…partly the propaganda is so blanketing that one can only pierce a piece at a time, and the overall effect remains. Also, there’s the way that all counter views are dismissed as Russian or Chinese propaganda/mischief…dismissed without even being looked at. I guess it’s just a matter of persisting. You’re wonderful inspiration!
