Listen to a reading of “Sources Say”.

Sources say the system’s working great,
and the government is your friend.
Commerce is the same as freedom
and wealth is the same as happiness,
according to sources familiar with the matter.

Sources say you should hate the Russians,
and also you should hate the Chinese,
and also you should hate Iran,
and also you should hate anti-vaxxers,
and also you should hate disobedient podcasters,
and really just hate anyone but your owners.

Sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, say we would never lie to you.
We’ve been speaking to you since you were young.
You can trust us with your mind.
If we were lying to everyone
everything would be a mess,
and the system would be a failure,
but it isn’t,
so we can’t be,
sources say,
sources say.

Sources say that you are finite,
and that a better world is impossible.
Sources say there is no magic coursing through your veins,
no miracles lurking in the great unknown,
no potentiality crackling within our species,
no leviathans swimming in our inner oceans,
no dragons soaring through our mind’s sky.

Sources say you are your body,
and you are your thoughts and your labels
and what you’ve been told you are since birth.
Sources say that small child’s voice within you
whispering your primordial name
is a liar
and you should drown it in a bowl of Netflix and whiskey.

Sources say sources say sources say
look at this shiny thing over here,
look how interesting it is,
keep looking at this,
don’t look within,
don’t look without,
pay no attention to the gasping biosphere,
pay no attention to our nuclear Russian roulette,
pay no attention to that man starving from sanctions,
pay no attention to that man shivering on the street,
pay no attention to that man behind the curtain,
pay no attention to those angels in the attic,
pay no attention to the swelling music of the forgotten gods,
just look over here,
just stare at this vapid celebrity wankface nothingman,
look look,
he is doing a thing,
ha ha ha ha he is so interesting and so relevant to our present situation.

Sources say don’t trust your own Sources.
Trust our sources; they are official and authorized.
The world is predictable and revolution impossible;
stomp down that light that’s been emanating from your chest cave.
Your Source is a liar.
Your Source can’t take care of you.
Your Source probably doesn’t even own any aircraft carriers.

Our sources say no one else will ever love you.
Shut up and get back to work,
sources say.
Ignore your Source
and keep cranking that gear
for as long as your worthless body will let you,
and then get out of the way
and get into the hole
with the rest of the corpses
in our thriving corpse economy
on our spinning corpse planet
as we exterminate our way into paradise,
sources say.

  1. ……this”source”…
says you are the walking dead……
    on arrival…..
wandering the empty landscape of eternally and completely stocked
    “choices”… be chosen
    to place an order
    to be you… me …
    be “us or we”……..
    tis of thee…..
    “voices” of “choices”…….
    all sculpted….painted…
    and tainted with ease….
    to tease then squeeze…..
    as we all say please…..
    of my “voice”….my “choice”…..
    i can’t hear myself….
    or yourself…..
    as we…..the walking dead…
    are deaf and blinded….
    oh so….just enough………

  2. I got teary-eyed reading this. THANK YOU!

  3. Make-it-up-as-you-go-along Gulag
(after the style of Alexander Pushkin’s “Eugene Onegin”)

    “Rules-based Order,” Blinken tells us
    means whatever Nuland says.
Thus, the bullshit that he sells us
    reeks of “Biden,” U.S. Prez,
    whose demented babbling frightens
    while The Corporation tightens
    ownership of “government”:
cops and guards and soldiers sent
    to enforce passivity
    in the Populi whose Vox
    disappears where power stalks
    handing out captivity
till Poe’s bird above the door
    croaks in triumph: “Ever More!”

  4. “Intelligence” à la carte

The two-faced puppet show called “government”
has outsourced its “intelligence” to those
who offer up themselves for sale or rent
in open “secrecy.” That makes them foes
of public purpose. Still, the billions spent
explains their slogan: “That’s the way it goes.”
Our spooks “assess,” they say, as if they’ve weighed
the consequences of their War For Wealth,
assuming, as they do, the costs defrayed
by others while they profit from pure stealth.
The poor find force against their class arrayed
while those in power drink each other’s health.
The pompous frauds speak noises like “assess”
when what they really mean is “wild-ass guess.”

  5. Thank you! Fantastic and well said. I get your posts and appreciate them, but this is the first time I am inspired to comment. Sending a donation your way. 🙂

  6. This can be fixed. The Truth will set us free.

  7. Russiagate, how I knew on day 1.
The first time I saw a Russiagate headline I thought
it was just another bit of fleeting political dreck.
Political dreck – yes, fleeting – no.
The Big Tell, clue, was the source.
I took a snapshot of the Reuters frontpage so I could archive it.
12/10/2016 (one month after election) Reuters frontpage Headline:
Russia intervened to help Trump win election
    The subtext held the clue:
Washington – U.S. intelligence analysts have concluded that Russia
intervened in the 2016 election to help President-elect Donald Trump win
the White House, and not just to undermine confidence in the U.S. electoral system,
    a senior U.S. official said.

Anonymous source [a senior U.S. official] informing us what other
anonymous sources [U.S. intelligence analysts] concluded.
The script for Russiagate was written very early.
More of the core script would be revealed a month later.
Nine days [01/11/2017] before Donald Trump’s inauguration here is the Reuters Headline:
Trump briefed Russia has damaging info about him
Again, the subtext held the clue:
Classified documents that the heads of four U.S. intelligence agencies
presented last week to Donald Trump included claims that Russian
    intelligence operatives have compromising
information about him, two U.S. officials said.

  8. This is brilliant, Caitlin. Such a powerful juxtaposition of “sources” and Source. Your poetry is always raw and insightful — this one in particular. Thank you!!

  9. FDA Suddenly Scrubs Moderna Document From Website After Reporters Ask Questions
“A Food and Drug Administration (FDA) document explaining why the agency approved Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine was removed from the agency’s website overnight.”
“The Summary Basis for Regulatory Action offered more details about how regulators reached the approval decision, and included references to an unpublished analysis that found the rates of post-vaccination heart inflammation were higher than any U.S. agency had found before.”
“After The Epoch Times reviewed the document and sent questions about it to FDA spokespersons, it disappeared from the agency’s website.”
“We are aware of the issue and hope to have the document reposted as soon as possible,” a spokesperson told The Epoch Times in an email on Feb. 3.
“Barbara Loe Fisher, president of the National Vaccine Information Center, a nonprofit that advocates for informed consent, told The Epoch Times in an email that “the public has the right to review the evidence FDA is using to license new mRNA vaccines as safe and effective.””
“Lack of transparency only fosters distrust in government agencies charged with protecting the public health.”

    1. This was why many PASC survivors (NYC clinicians included) delayed 2nd shots >6 months (scared of Delta, smugly vectored by schoolkids). Inflammatory side-effects far worse than COVID (as noted, overseas).

  10. Inspired stuff… “Netflix & whiskey” was a guffaw!

  11. “Sources say” is a stealth version of “Simon says.”

  12. Poetry won’t save you hiding at home.
In your pajamas clutching your smart phone.
What’s coming your way will have no escape.
When mothers are done with you–
    I don’t envy your fate.

    1. Your argument is with reality and you’re going to lose that one, moron.

      1. When people say some deaths are worth it, they are always talking about other people’s deaths. When they take that last breath themselves, it’s a different story.

  13. There is a lot of power in good poetry.

  14. What did you learn in school today?
    Nothing but the truth, Dad.
My teacher also told me not to believe my lying eyes or my lying ears.

  15. Republicofscotland Avatar

Speaking of sources the Matt Lee vs State Department video is a belter, it points out beautifully that the government can create whatever report it wants to push a narrative without producing any evidence whatsoever, and the sit back and watch the compliant MSM parrot out that trope.

However on this occasion things didn’t quite go to plan.

  16. Then there is this. The source may not have meant to say this…

From the above table the 100,000 person-years calculation can be made, with the younger group coming out at 20.9 un-jabbed per 100,000 person-years and the older group at 15.9. Following this, the mortality rate per 100,000 person-years is worked out by dividing the number of deaths within each group by the 100,000 person-years calculation.

The result is that for the 10–14 year group, the un-jabbed mortality per 100,000 person-years is 4.6 while the un-jabbed mortality rate per 100,000 person-years for the 15–19 group is 10.1.

Using the same data set and calculation, the mortality rate for 10–14-year-olds who received one dose of the jabs suffered a 45.1 per 100,000 person-years death rate, while 15–19-year-olds with one jab suffered 18.3 deaths per 100,00 person-years.

Among those who received two doses of the COVID jabs in both young age groups, the death rates were higher still, with 32.9 deaths per 100,000 person-years among the 15–19 age group and a staggering 238.4 deaths per 100,000 person-years among 10–14-year-olds in the U.K.

The data show a stark increase in deaths among children both single- and double-jabbed compared to their un-jabbed counterparts. For children aged 15–19, the risk of death increases by almost double if they take the first shot and by over three times if they take the second.

10–14-year-olds, on the other hand, run the risk of dying almost by a factor of ten following the first dose while the second dose brings a 51.8 times greater risk of death than if they had remained un-jabbed.

On average, it means that children between 10 and 19 years of age who had received at least one shot of the COVID jabs had a 3.7 times greater chance of dying between January and October last year.

    1. Really. In a discussion of false narratives, you spout a narrative of spurious statistics.

    2. Your numbers assume that all kids are equally likely to be jabbed.

The reality is that sick kids and healthy kids have different situations, and are likely to choose differently.

  17. Sources say? Wouldn’t you be considered a source as well ? The Greenville Post is almost dead, ghionjournal is dead, and so too possibly is its editor. Counter Punch is a government outlet, I met the CIA agent in charge of several Canadian Alternative Outlets the other day, and the ongoing NATO/Russia negotiations. So when do we no longer become ‘a source’? You can’t but help love the censors.

  19. I know we are near to reaching a juncture of upheaval and great change because I no longer believe anything I hear or read about this world in which I live.

  20. Heavy stuff…. unfortunately very realistic

  21. Just IGNORE that little man, behind the curtain. Just go on about your business, as NORMAL! Just vote for the lesser of two evils. If we BELIEVE hard enough, Tinkerbell won’t DIE!

  22. Great poetry is a great way to start my day! Thank you Caitlin, this is excellent.

The revolution could happen when we realize that we are all inter-are, or even all the same.
So when they (we?) are killing the planet, we actually are dying.
    Anthropocene is mass-suicide.

  23. Brilliant, as usual!

  24. Sources say that the covid jabs are so safe and effective that we should deny rights to those that choose not to get thy holy shot

    What’s new?
