Be Ready To Act: WikiLeaks Source Says They’re Coming For Assange

The WikiLeaks Twitter account has announced that it has high level information that the organization’s founder Julian Assange could have his political asylum the Ecuadorian embassy revoked for him to be arrested by the British government within hours. We need to be ready to shake the earth should this happen. We need all hands on deck for this one.

“BREAKING: A high level source within the Ecuadorian state has told @WikiLeaks that Julian Assange will be expelled within ‘hours to days’ using the #INApapers offshore scandal as a pretext–and that it already has an agreement with the UK for his arrest,” the leak publishing outlet tweeted, with a link to a story about the INA Papers leak.

The pretext that is being used is almost irrelevant, because it has nothing to do with truth or reality. Assange has been a target of the US-centralized power establishment ever since WikiLeaks began publishing authentic documents exposing the malfeasance of its leaders a decade ago, and strings are being pulled around the world to funnel him into its jaws. That’s all that this is, but it should surprise no one that the pretext is bogus as well. Journalist Elizabeth Vos wrote an article for Consortium News the other day summarizing the false narrative being spun by the Ecuadorian government that the conditions of asylum have been violated by the WikiLeaks account (not Assange) tweeting about a scandal that has rocked Ecuador’s president Lenin Moreno.

To be clear, it is a known fact that the US government is working to arrest and imprison Assange, not for the Russia stuff that has had establishment loyalists so excited over the last couple of years, but for the 2010 leaks exposing US war crimes. The US has an extradition treaty with the UK, and the British government has refused to comment on whether or not it has received an extradition request for the Assange arrest that we absolutely know for a fact is an existing US government agenda. This would be the same US government which tortured Chelsea Manning after refusing her a fair trial.

If Assange is arrested and prosecuted under the Patriot Act, it will be a devastating blow to press freedoms and constitute a greater leap in the direction of Orwellian dystopia than the Patriot Act did. The US government exercising the ability to imprison journalists for simply publishing facts about it, not just in America but anywhere in the world, will be a poisoned dagger in the heart of the world population’s ability to bring any transparency or accountability to that titanic power structure.

“WikiLeaks reports that Julian Assange is on the verge of being expelled from the Ecuadorean Embassy in London,” tweeted the legendary journalist John Pilger in response to today’s news. “Please fill the street outside the embassy and protect him, and show solidarity with a courageous man, whose struggle ought to touch us all.”

Yes please.

We are about to find out if this is the part of the movie where the empire rips off the mask of freedom and democracy and reveals its true tyrannyAssange is a soft target, a controversial figure who has been on the receiving end of wildly successful smear campaigns marketed to every major political faction across the western world. He is the logical place to begin a crackdown on press freedoms and make a public example of what happens to those who shine the light of truth upon Big Brother.

If we allow them to imprison Julian Assange for practicing journalism, that’s it. It’s over. We might as well all stop caring what happens to the world and sit on our hands while the oligarchs drive us to ecological disaster, nuclear annihilation or Orwellian dystopia. If we, the many, don’t have the spine to stand up against the few and say “No, we get to find out facts about you bastards and use it to inform our worldview, you don’t get to criminalize that,” then we certainly don’t have the spine it will take to wrest control of this world away from the hands of sociopathic plutocrats and take our fate into our own hands.

The arrest of Julian Assange would be the fork in the road. It would be where we collectively decide as a species whether we want to survive into the future, and if we deserve to.

So be ready to shake the earth if they decide that this is a good time to sink their talons into him. If they touch one silver hair on that man’s head, we must unleash relentless worldwide outrage the likes of which they have never before seen. Because we’re not just fighting for Assange, we’re fighting for our very survival.

Jeremy Corbyn has spoken out in defense of WikiLeaks and Assange in the past. His moral character combined with his continual rise toward the leadership of the British government may partly explain the rush to arrest Assange as quickly as possible. In what was in my opinion one of the most exciting occurrences in wester politics recently, Corbyn read an excerpt from Percy Bysshe Shelley’s “The Masque of Anarchy” before an audience of thousands at the 2017 Glastonbury festival.

Corbyn roared:

“Rise, like lions after slumber
In unvanquishable number!
Shake your chains to earth like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you:
Ye are many — they are few!”

If Assange is arrested, that will be our cue to rise like lions from our slumber, which has gone on far too long at far too great a cost. We cannot permit them to use, exploit and oppress us like this anymore. We are the many. They are the few. Be ready to rise.

  • The United States should reverse course on this issue immediately, both because this issue is exactly like the Pentagon Papers case almost five decades ago, and the fact that what was published was true.

Wait…did I just say that “what was published was true”? I guess I did.

So now that it has been established that truth is the enemy of all governments, what should be done about it? How about if governments around the world would unite under the principles of truth?

Nah, that’s too radical an idea. The way the world’s governments are headed, the people best be wary. The truth is dangerous.

  • There are too many players in this game, and each keeps raising the stakes with unbelievable bets. Assange is just an inconvenient pawn, and the game is our future. I am not being pessimistic by assuming he seems to be the next loss.

On Friday 5 April 2019, as revealed by John Pilger on Twitter from a high level source within the Ecuadorian Government, Julian Assange would shortly be expelled from the London Ecuadorian Embassy. Once evicted, he stands to be arrested by the UK police, extradited to the United States where he faces a secret trial based on a secret indictment. He may face many years behind bars – even the death penalty can’t be excluded – all for just publishing, through Wikleaks, facts about world events that the public would be entitled to know in a fair and just world.

it is still possible to make the Australian government act to prevent the illegal extradition of Julian Assange to the U.S. and, instead, bring him home to Australia. Should they fail to act, they must be held to account at the forthcoming federal elections.

  • Replying to @johnpilger: Nov. 2018: Secret Charges Are “Accidentally Revealed.” “Accidentally Revealed.” Yeah, right. And, Britain just “Inadvertently” ignored a UN Human Rights ruling that Assange was “being arbitrarily detained in violation of International Law.” https://twitter.com/WoodHarps/status/1114191518619906048

  • What concrete actions can we take? Many of us feel helpless because there is nothing we can do if we live in another country. Are there any suggestions on how we can help him?

    • Send $$ to his defense team. Write your “representatives”. Tell your friends.

Will Assange become martyred? Will he face his accusers with courage and let the world see who He really is? As well, It is supposed or rummored he has been financed by sources that want confusion and disorder… the clamoring mass duped one again by fake everything… Is his loyalty compromised in a faction hiding behind the badge of journalistic freedom, while he does the work of the double agent?
Is in fact, Assange the fall guy for his masters… we assume he is righteously honest as a reporter/?? The agent of change. The Joan of Arch, the intertwining with the covenant of light to the world of truth! Is this propaganda none essential rhetoric… If 95 % of world propaganda comes in the form of mainstream editors, then we must assume that it could be propaganda, that Assange is feeding the masses as well. Mix the truth with some untruth and rally the masses into a “FRENZY”. Is this the bloodless revolution in the Orwellian compromise of dualism and outright deception? The whole truth, nothing but the truth…OMG?
Now every rouge journalist is shaking in his boots… All thinking we will enter the realm of an unfettered dystopia, while in fact the dystopia has been in existent for millennia????? The illusion of freedom brought to you by the writers of journalistic fake history and the Machiavellians that have ruled the planet from times end and beyond… The fake governments of the pass that control the frequency of change and the blinding of the masses… The hard questions to be asked by anyone who sees the fruits of change, never changing, no matter how much commentary is reveled as untruth.
Critical thought??? Lost in the jungle of frequencies we could never imagine. Brought to us by way of the honest messenger… only to be reviled as the devil’s business of hide and seek, the conjure of the rabbis of suppression and religious superstition, once again, do not judge a book by it’s cover. The excesses of folly rides the train of revolution… The mind must follow the heart of the seeker, and the heart must be pure at heart… We should all ask the hard questions of the legendary pens of journalism and that of his or her intelligentsia. Here the nostalgic mental-copia flounders in the fiction of one minds eye, of how it should be said, we should live. There is a mass mind of confusion… here we see the Tower of Babble rolled up into the fiction of truth and the merry-go-round of Bourgeoisie fiction to keep the status quo alive. It is called freedom of the press… but unless one has a printing press… here the lies begin and the truth belongs to the teller of revolution. The masses spill their blood, but change is no where to be found…
The oxymoron of change, is the dystopia of the pen that the dead will never read… Give me liberty or give me death… we are all liberated zombies walking down the sidewalk texting or reading something on a heading…not of our own making, followers of the purple people eaters of change, the walking dead!
I digress, it is a mess!

    • Your confusion is not helpful – but maybe that is why you are posting this nonsense. We are dealing with real and important issues here, something you obviously do not appreciate.

    • Seriously mate shut the f up. Raw footage of a US gunship slaughtering unarmed civilians killed n Iraq is not propaganda it’s fact. Recall that two of those murdered were Reuters employees and REUTERS MADE NO PUBLIC COMMENT ABOUT THAT. If that doesn’t tell you how utterly corrupt and disgracefully compromised the msm is in terms of being in thrall to the power elite I don’t know what would. Your post is a blatant attempt at disinformation. Do you work for the CIA?

  • To some, the idea that humanity is probably headed to extinction in the near future, leads them to the conclusion that we might a well throw in the towel and just stop breathing right now. This is not a necessary conclusion. Every moment of human life is precious, and worth living to the fullest – whatever may be around the corner. If working for a better world for all makes sense to you, then I would recommend that you continue to pursue that, no matter what.

The fate of our species, and our planet will be determined in line with the laws of the Universe. To imagine that we are an exception to this reality is just human delusions of exceptionalism, and having a privileged status to violate those laws with impunity.

    • We each know that our individual lives will be cut short by death sometime in the near future, but we continue to embrace life and act as if there were no tomorrow. The same attitude can be entertained towards the inevitable death of the human species. The reality of our extinction is in many ways sad, but it is just how things are. And on the bright side, we can enjoy the thought of how so many of our fellow species on Earth will celebrate our departure!

  • I disagree with your belief that if Assange goes down, we may as well stop.

Assange is a great journalist, but he’s not the only one, the first one, or the last one.

If he goes down, we may as well keep going, and growing the ranks of people with whatever scale of beats and audiences, who follow his model of courageous, independent journalism. We just grow those ranks with our eyes open about the personal costs the powerful may extract from us for doing so.

    • With respect I think you entirely miss the point. If the US govt-or any govt- can pursue, persecute and punish Assange for revealing the nasty underside to government actions they can do it to anyone. There will be an inevitable chilling of informed discussion of significant world events which does not fit the official government narrative. In fact of course this has already happened to many fine journalists who exposed the lies that led to the destruction of Iraq and the death of over one million Iraqis.

  • The world is dying. It’s finest flower has become an evil curse upon it. The slow motion apocalypse is rapidly gaining speed now. Most of those living now will soon see their world collapse into nightmare. The tragic end of the experiment with higher intelligence is unfolding before our glazed or horrified eyes. The understandings and actions which might have saved us should have been done long ago, but they were not. Now we will experience the unfolding of the relentless laws of cause and effect, leading to our self-extinction.

    • Or we will experience an impossible miracle.

  • Just checked Daily Kos to see if this news was posted there. It was and there were a ton of heated comments. Disgusting and horrifying. A mob of spittle-flecked morons howling to have Assange thrown into Gitmo. They are absolutely certain that Assange is a Russian tool who supports Trump and caused Hillary to lose the election. (Apparently, Hillary and the right wing of their own party are the only people who had nothing to do with losing to Trump.)

  • Looks like what we need are enough bodies to walk him to the Swiss embassy. I’m not in the country so can’t be there but hopefully there will be enough people on stand by to make it happen. I don’t think things are quite bad enough for the British government to countenance shooting of citizens.

    • There is nothing we can do even if we live in the same country. The US is determined to torture Assange at minimum, and kill him at worst. Nothing anyone does can stop them.

  • People deserve their masters and don’t deserve their heroes. I am sorry, Caitlin, I know you are a good person and you have hope, but I don’t. Humanity will get much much worse, before starting to reborn, if this is at all possible.

  • All opposing fractions of humanity in regards to conflict are guided by opinionated opinion. As with the rest of the “political & democratical truth in the world” everything including Assange should be taken with a grain of salt. Real enemies of the slavery system of hidden corporate dictatorship do not hide or are protected – they are either silenced forever or used as a project accordingly.
Unity is the only real threat to the system and it is very far from being achieved or being close.

    • you are speaking of unity while dripping with cynicism?! i smell a rat.

      • I smell an AI bot that’s not quite ready for prime time. “Opinionated opinion” ?

  • The pathetic Australian govt. should have acted independently a long time ago instead of taking orders from the US and UK. Julie Bishop did nothing, do you think her replacement the Hon. Ms Payne will do anything differently.

    • Labor won’t do anything either, both parties take their script direct from Washington. My Labor MP hasn’t even sent a standard acknowledgement to my last two emails to him about Julian. Has anyone heard a word from Labor about Julian since former (Labor) Prime Minister said (in 2010) that Julian had done something ‘illegal’ but couldn’t say exactly which law he’d broken?

  • What are the hopes Wikileaks has sobering dirt they have yet to publish on the highest of oligarchies – dirt that can not be refuted. Dirt Wiki makes known will be published should Assange be confiscated. Any chance? Seems Wiki would have forseen the value of not showing their entire hand.

  • This also happened yesterday – https://www.rt.com/usa/455503-max-blumenthal-syrian-war-lobby/

Another muzzling of an investigative journalist.

The elite oligarchs appear to be issuing a few “marching orders.”

  • Taking an active part in the solutions of the problems of peace is a moral duty which no conscientious man can shirk. Albert Einstein. Technological progress is not inherently evil but when it develops without corresponding social, and humanistic advances the system starts to fester like a cancer. Assange stood for social justice environmental quality , survival and peace and truth.A truly conscientious human being, shame on the Australien Goverment

  • Information Clearing House site is down saying ‘account suspended’. Feels ominous when considered in context with the above.
I hope it is just a coincidence.

  • Rise up? And do what? Fold your arms in the street and get shot? Post a nasty tweet and get banned? Hang a sign in your bedroom window and get rocks tossed at you? Sign an online petition and have it go into the digital void? Come on, be real – protest is futile, Revolution is impossible, the bad guys won a loooong time ago… enjoy your cage, birdie!

    • Well they certainly got you where they want you

  • Assange is toast if the US really wants him badly enough. The British will have abslutely no problem (nor will the Americans) killing people in the streets to get him.

    • They may not want to show their hand. There is also the possibility that some kind of screw-up will occur and let the Goddess of Unintended Consequences loose upon the land.

  • maybe this crisis is also an opportunity, to spirit him away from the criminals’ claws and also see Assange’s insurance file come out and turn the world upside down.

  • Sound the alarm to the people of London and vicinity in the United Kingdom. If at all possible, peace and truth activists are urged to travel to the Ecuadorian Embassy London and protect Julian Assange.

  • In the same vein as the Shelley quote from Corbyn is Patrick Pearse’s The Rebel. Here are the final lines:

And I say to my people’s masters: Beware
Beware of the thing that is coming, beware of the risen people
Who shall take what ye would not give.
Did ye think to conquer the people, or that law is stronger than life,
And than men’s desire to be free?
We will try it out with you ye that have harried and held,
Ye that have bullied and bribed.
    Tyrants… hypocrites… liars!
