Listen to a reading of this article:

The New York Times has published an article on the contents of the hotly anticipated US government report on UFOs, as per usual based on statements of anonymous officials, and as per usual promoting narratives that are convenient for imperialists and war profiteers.

Together with one voice, the anonymous US officials and the “paper of record” which is supposed to scrutinize US officials assure us definitively that the mysterious aerial phenomena that have reportedly been witnessed by military personnel are certainly not any kind of secret US technology, but could totally be aliens and could definitely be a sign that the Russians or Chinese have severely lapped America’s lagging military development.

“The report determines that a vast majority of more than 120 incidents over the past two decades did not originate from any American military or other advanced U.S. government technology,” NYT was reportedly told by the officials. “That determination would appear to eliminate the possibility that Navy pilots who reported seeing unexplained aircraft might have encountered programs the government meant to keep secret.”

Oh well if the US government has ruled out secret US government weaponry programs, hot damn that’s good enough for me. Great journalism you guys.

“Intelligence officials believe at least some of the aerial phenomena could have been experimental technology from a rival power, most likely Russia or China,” the Times reports. “One senior official briefed on the intelligence said without hesitation that U.S. officials knew it was not American technology. He said there was worry among intelligence and military officials that China or Russia could be experimenting with hypersonic technology.”

“Russia has been investing heavily in hypersonics, believing the technology offers it the ability to evade American missile-defense technology,” NYT adds. “China has also developed hypersonic weaponry, and included it in military parades. If the phenomena were Chinese or Russian aircraft, officials said, that would suggest the two powers’ hypersonic research had far outpaced American military development.”

The article goes on to describe how the US military have been “unsettled” by aircraft moving and behaving in ways known technologies cannot explain. The implication of scary foreign adversaries having “outpaced American military development” to such an extent is of course that the US military is going to require a far bigger budget with far more intensive weapons development.

This would be the same New York Times that has consistently supported all of the US military’s devastating acts of mass murder around the world, by the way.

This won’t be the last time we hear the imperial media warning us that UFOs may be a sign of a frightening gap in technology leaving the US defenseless against far more powerful foreign foes, and they’ve already been priming us for it. Republican Rachel Maddow aka Tucker Carlson has been shrilly pushing this narrative for weeks now and demanding that the US government do more to address the fact that in alleged encounters with these aircraft, “our military was completely outmatched technologically by whatever these were.”

“UFOs, it turns out, are real, and whatever else they are, they’re a prima facie challenge to the United States military,” Carlson said on a segment last month. “They’re doing things the U.S. military does not allow, and they’re doing it with impunity. And they appear to be focused on the U.S. military.”

“Why isn’t the Pentagon more focused on this? It seems like a threat if there ever was one,” Carlson huffed.

In another segment Carlson had on military intelligence veteran Luis Elizondo, a leading figure in the steadily intensifying new UFO narrative which kicked off in 2017, claiming the aforementioned Senate report on the subject will reveal “an intelligence failure on the part of the US intel community on the level of 9/11.”

“If there’s a foreign adversary that can put a nuclear warhead within moments over Washington DC, okay, that’s a problem,” Elizondo told Carlson’s Fox News audience.

All this over some completely unverifiable testimony, and a few videos being confirmed by the Pentagon which can all be explained by easily identifiable mundane phenomena.

I can’t predict the future, but I won’t be at all surprised if we begin seeing this arms race angle become the dominant aspect of this UFO story in the coming months/years. It would certainly fit the pattern of the US war machine and mass media promoting completely unverifiable allegations about foreign governments to justify further cold war escalations.

In the early sixties President John F Kennedy falsely promoted the “missile gap” narrative, telling the public that the Soviet Union had surpassed the United States in nuclear weapons when he knew full well the US nuclear arsenal had always far surpassed the USSR’s in number, quality and deployment. Kennedy used this hawkish narrative to win an election and advance the largest peacetime expansion of US military power ever, leading directly to the events which gave rise to the Cuban Missile Crisis which came far closer to ending our world than most of us like to think about.

I have no idea what if anything is going on with these UFO phenomena, but I do know the world-threatening new cold war the US is waging against Russia and China is insane. There is no valid reason our planet’s dominant power structures cannot at the very least cease brandishing armageddon weapons at each other and begin collaborating toward a better world together.

Reject the propagandists and cold warriors, no matter how elaborate or bizarre their manipulations become. Keep an eye on these bastards, and help spread awareness of what they’re about.

Here’s some educational material, for those who actually give a damn.

The history of real and documented UFO encounters is so much more extensive than a few recent videos. Please don’t discount the entire matter as propaganda – yes there’s plenty of that – until you’ve done a whole lot more research on the matter.

If you don’t know who Maj. Gen. Nathan Twining was (the Twining memo), don’t know who Adm. Roscoe Hillenkoetter was (first director of the CIA) or what he said about UFOs, don’t know about the FOIA and its extensive documentation of (usually heavily redacted) UFO events, the extensive documented history of UFO and military encounters in Russia, China, Chile, France and elsewhere – then joining the chorus of ridicule due to Tucker Carlsen et al simply serves to further the national security state’s propaganda machine.

No, I’m not claiming to have the answers – I suspect there are ‘aliens’ here and have been for millennia but can’t prove it and remain somewhat of an agnostic on the matter. I also know without any doubt that extremely advanced human technologies exist which could explain some of these unknowns. I’ve had multiple encounters, talked to others who have had the same, researched the subject with a big grain of salt for decades.

I get really tired of it being treated as nonsense. Read Richard Dolan’s “UFOs and the National Security State.” Dig into FOIA. Research incursions at Malstrom, Minot, Oak Ridge, Los Alamos. If you don’t have the time or interest, stop writing dismissive articles about the matter. I like your website and writing, but none of this is the BS that it’s being made out to be.

It’s maddening to read such dismissive articles that continue to portray the subject as just one more “conspiracy theory.” Okay, fine. JFK and his brother were killed by lone gunmen, MLK the same, and anyone who contends that Israel runs US foreign policy is an anti-Semite.

  3. Caitlin – Keep up your good work, your voice brings the world hope.

    1. If ETs from another star system get here, they would likely be thousands of years ahead of earthly technology. Better hope they don’t show more than a passing interest.
    2. Better hope someone like Vasili Archipov or Stanislaw Petrov shows up when needed…

There are at least three ‘valid reason[s] our planet’s dominant power structures cannot at the very least cease brandishing armageddon weapons at each other and begin collaborating toward a better world together’.
Reason 1: China and Russia do not and will not accede to the dictates of the US hegemon. Hopefully they never will. Those dictates are 100% coercive and designed to bring Russia and China into a completely servile, impoverished Balkanised state as they have seen wrought by the US and its allies on Syria, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine et al. Nuclear weapons are a perfectly legitimate deterrent for a regional capitalist power (Russia) and a post-capitalist power (China) against the US imperialist thug. No country should endure such coercion, and the fact that China and Russia (and North Korea) can militarily stand up to it is one very good thing indeed.
Reason 2: China and Russia are not ‘dominant power structures’. They have very few military bases outside their own territories. The US is the dominant power, and the dominant power structure is the US with its allies in tow, principally the UK, NATO and lapdogs like Australia, Japan, Israel et al. and ever-helpful and hopeful lapdogs like Ukraine and Poland et al. There are no other dominant power structures.
Reason 3: Imperialism is the main ‘legitimate’ reason that ‘collaborating toward a better world’ cannot and will not happen. Imperialism is not a policy. Its appetites and direction are those of the dominant monopoly corporations making up the imperial entity. Imperialism is a stage of capitalist development that can’t simply be turned on and off like a tap. It is relentless in seeking out new areas of the globe for exploitation at the expense of other peoples and other imperialist rivals. That’s in the DNA of capitalism and only the end of capitalism can bring about imperialism’s demise. What’s particularly dangerous is that US imperialism, somewhat analogous to Rome in its decline, is dominated by its military and arms contractor corporations, no longer its automobile or mining companies, making Reason 1 above even more important.

  5. 20 years about Al Qaeda, WMD and all that shit isn’t working anymore. Soon covid will not be enough, obviously UFO’s would come up but it’s totally unfair with Bigfoot.

  6. These sick bastards never outgrew their childhood fantasies with pop guns, plastic six shooters, and cowboy suits.
Not just immature FUCKWITS, they’re psychotic turd munchers.
    God help us.
Sure as shit science has failed us.

  7. UFOs and the surrounding hype has been around for years, centuries and was the stuff of crackpots and sci-fi fantasy but now suddenly it’s a topic for polite conversation? Now they are real? Now we can babble endlessly on TV about them? Pfff. I think that’s really all you need to know. So overtly narrative management it doesn’t require any further analysis. Other than that obvious fact, UFOs offer us nothing. We know nothing concrete about their existence anymore than we did in 1950. In summary: the present UFO hysteria is narrative management with a pivot to some new agenda. End of story.

  8. I love that bit in Tucker Carlson’s Wikipedia entry: “Years earlier, he had quit smoking and replaced cigarettes with nicotine gum, which he buys in bulk from New Zealand and ‘chews constantly’”. You bet! It was that or say good bye to his nails.
Same as selfies have become a useful tool to assess people’s individual narcissistic personality disorders (NPD), belief in the “UFO threat” will become the ideal one to gauge their collective paranoia.

  9. Caitlin you are awesome, thank you so much for your insights.

Hi Caitlin, So what do we have …

    1) we don’t know what it is
    2) it’s not ours
    3) it’s not little green men from mars
    4) it must be the Chinese and Russians

Hmm … Rationalizing at best or an excuse to cover for top secret US technology. Either way, it all becomes just another excuse to raid the US Treasury. Since cost plus defense contracts are about the only thing guaranteeing a profit, the Oligarchs, Corporations and Banks are salivating at yet another way to rape US taxpayers. Empire on steroids.

  11. First the war; then reasons for the war.

    1. When will they ever learn, when will they evever lear………?

  12. Come get you very own ” star wars ray gun “; just 2 million dollars apiece. Cash only-no checks!

    1. I would certainly rather have an arms race with nonexistent extraterrestrial aliens than with Russia or China. Blast Mars! Up Uranus!

    2. Two million? Must be cheap Chinese knock-offs at that price.

  13. “Together with one voice,” all (99%) airwaves and mediums are being blanketed, in unison, with a singular, smothering talking point: “It seems like a threat if there ever was one – [and, it only follows, somehow, that even though the technology is undoubtedly beyond our world by maybe a million years, Russia and China could be the culprits].” Indeed, it is an ongoing and exponentially-rising threat – but not from our brothers or sisters who are obviously from other planets. Based on my present anonymity and currently anonymous sources, “I [can] predict the future”: There will come a time when the “intelligence” shared by them (“aliens”) will be clear, as altruistic messages. No one, then, will wonder if the coordinated communications are just continuing Psy-Ops of earthly fashions/technologies/goals. The truth of this place: for needed revelations. The uplifting realities of theirs, as related: for preparatory awakenings. Following, the masses will be freed to make choices based on a different “voice” (for a new future) – without this suffocating oppression.

This was Reagan, Bush or Obama/Trump, not Kennedy …

who found upon taking office that there was a missile gap … but in favor of the us…

Allen Dulles lied to Kennedy in a pre election briefing when Kennedy asked about the status of forces between the us and Soviet Union.

Indeed the us had such vast superiority that the pentagon wanted to wipe out Russia before 1964 when the missile balance of power was expected to be roughly equal …

This is where the bay of pigs came from , us missiles in turkey, the Caribbean missile crises and nasty stuff like the pentagons operation northwoods which Kennedy vetoed …

It has all been a typical off the shelf corporate pr marketing product rollout …

  16. Search “hypersonic technology” and you’ll get, first, NASA then Lockheed Martin. The rest will be US Govt and arms industry related sites.

  17. The recent UFO nonsense is really strange. But it is a fact that the Russians have developed a serious technological edge over the USA, which is just starting to wake up to that.

Russian hypersonic weapons are actually pretty old news. Also, that the US is incapable of developing counters to them. They can’t do basic research anymore.

    1. Yes, and furthermore Russia has a self-guiding supersonic nuclear fission powered missile that can fly for days and dodge & dive. Even able to “fly” underwater including in the Atlantic trench.

  18. MSM has taken propaganda absurdity to a new level – UFO’s ALWAYS visit the USA !!

Probably because they are the indispensable nation that is about you get dispensed !

I have better things to do – like run along the beach !

  19. As if Russia and/or China are going to parade their latest and greatest weapons in front of US cameras. What utter male bovine organic fertilizer.

  20. More contracts for more weapons are coming for the likes of Northrop Grumman, Lockheed and Boeing, whether the supposed threat is Russia, China, or aliens.

The budget for fiscal year 2022, which begins Oct. 1, requests a 5% boost in its research, development, testing and evaluation, part of which will be spent on developing and procuring hypersonic capabilities.

According to Mike White, principal director for hypersonics in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, “We’re going into a highly contested environment that is defined by our adversaries’ very thoughtful development of high-end systems that challenge our domain dominance in space, in the air and at sea,” and “We have to make sure that we’ve got enough flexibility to be able to deliver effects from multiple domains so that we don’t make their problem too easy for them.”

  23. Before anyone draws a conclusion to this article, let me urge you to digest what Dr. Steven Greer has to say about the UFO phenomenon. He has several videos on You Tube where he lays out a persuasive argument for most sightings being of U.S. origin. I also recommend viewing the movie “Unacknowledged” also on You Tube. Be very careful in what you believe from the main stream media.

  24. Caitlin says she “won’t be at all surprised if we begin seeing this arms race angle become the dominant aspect of this UFO story.”
I’ll be amazed if it doesn’t.
