Everyone who acts like it’s a new and unprecedented horror whenever Putin reminds the west that Mutually Assured Destruction still stands is just admitting that they never understood what’s at stake in this proxy war and always thought this was some kind of fucking game.
“Oh my God, he’s saying he might use nukes!” Yeah that’s what happens when you start a war with a fucking nuclear-armed nation, dipshit. That’s why you’re a fucking moron for yelling at those of us who’ve been calling for de-escalation and detente. Change how you are. Stop cheerleading this insane game of nuclear chicken and begin calling for de-escalation.
It’s so crazy how people pretend the US wouldn’t use nukes in response to the exact same type of attacks that Putin is warning against. Like we all know this isn’t some weird new threat that Vladimir Putin invented, right? Do we understand that this is the very reason antiwar activists have spent years warning against this exact confrontation and calling for detente instead?
This shouldn’t scan as something new for you. If Putin reiterating the longstanding principle of Mutually Assured Destruction makes you freak out like something new is being said, it’s because you didn’t pay attention in history class. If you were previously unaware that the threat of nuclear annihilation was baked into this proxy war from the very beginning, that just means it’s time to reassess your support for this proxy war.
Yes this situation is insanely dangerous. No that’s not because of anything Putin has been saying.

This was always going to be the result of the US policy of shipping billions of dollars worth of weapons into Ukraine and discouraging peace talks at every turn. I hope they’re happy. https://t.co/zDNn8PTVm5

If you’re wondering why we’re seeing more war propaganda today than at any point since World War Two, a big part of it is because it’s going to take a tremendous amount of psychological manipulation to get people to accept the financial hardship that must inevitably befall them as part of the empire’s economic warfare against Russia. Only by ungodly amounts of propaganda would people consent to having their bank accounts emptied for a US proxy war that benefits them in no way and which places them at greater and greater risk of nuclear annihilation.
❖
A truly free and liberal society would not use propaganda, censorship and information ops to manipulate the way the public thinks about a war, but if you criticize the way the western empire is using those exact measures you get a bunch of “liberals” defending their use.

Pretty wild how the US State Department stopped publishing its annual transparency reports about US government arms trafficking right when the US government began pouring billions of dollars into proxy warfare campaigns.

The fact that the US routinely seizes other nations' territory by force doesn't legitimize Russia's doing so. But it does mean that the US is the very last government on earth who has any business voicing such a grievance, and it does mean the US should shut the fuck up. https://t.co/wH3G0tszaX

One of the craziest things happening in the world today is the way weapons manufacturers are allowed to pour money into corrupt think tanks who go on to directly influence the foreign policy and military budget decisions of the most powerful war machine that has ever existed.
War profiteers being allowed to successfully and very effectively lobby for more war is not morally different from slaughtering human beings at industrial scale and selling their organs; the only difference is the way the money gets made. If you kill people and sell their bodies you’ll be called a monster, but if you kill the same number of people for the same amount of money via weapons industry profits in weapons industry-lobbied wars, you’ll be called an industrious job creator.
This is allowed to continue because the US empire is fuelled by human blood. It’s a symbiotic relationship; neither the arms industry nor the empire can live without war, so any amount of corrupt lobbying for murder and destruction is not just tolerated but warmly welcomed.
It turns out it’s impossible to get the world to unite under a single power structure without violence and the threat thereof. So it’s only natural that an empire where there’s no clear separation of corporation and state would see war profiteers knit themselves into state power.
Future generations, if there are future generations, will scarcely be able to believe that it was once legal for corporations which directly profit from war and militarism to insert themselves into key points of influence and lobby — successfully — for more war and militarism.

People ignore politics because they perceive (correctly) that neither of their country’s two mainstream political factions cares about them, and because they perceive (incorrectly) that those two mainstream political factions are the only possible framework for political action.
A tremendous amount of perception management has gone in to getting people to buy into the absurd delusion that not only can status quo politics be used to change the status quo, but that it’s the only way to change the status quo. People stop ignoring politics when they learn there’s a whole meaningful reality underneath that delusion.
That’s when the apolitical majority becomes political. When their eyes open to the fact that (A) things are fucked, (B) the political system is rigged to make sure they stay fucked, and (C) that the political system is irrelevant because we vastly outnumber those who run it.

Humanity taking another step toward world war between nuclear superpowers is as good a time as any to reassess our priorities in life. What we think about, what we talk about, what we speak out about, where our attention gravitates, where we place our political energy, how we spend our time on this earth, and with whom.
Anyone who is interested in a sincere relationship with reality must take seriously the possibility that this could all be gone soon, and use that as a guidepost for how they spend their time and energy on this planet.

When I hear the word ‘expert’ I hear alarm bells ringing in my head. As I see it, in today’s world, too many ‘experts’ want to run our world and in so doing, also ruining it. It is the average man/woman on the street that should be listened to – they are the ones trying to make through every single day as best they can.
Why are you watching Morning Joe? He’s a liar 100% of the time
My sister loves Joe Scarborough… She’s elderly an I keep her company and make her coffee in the morning. Also, it’s good to keep tabs on those you don’t agree with.

If Washington can’t be in control of all the toys, they will do as much as possible to prevent you from having any. Washington, the bully, fabricates the struggle through chaos generating propaganda, unwanted interference, and weapons stockpiling. It looks as if the selfish, unreasonable dastards in Washington have fallen under the trance of Thucydides Trap. Is the U.S. playing out the part of the licentious, naive Commodus? What happened to Commodus?
Richard Haas (CFR) said on Morning Joe that Putin is bluffing about nuclear weapons. People like him aren’t scared of nuclear war. They’re too stupid to be afraid.

MAD applies between somewhat democratic societies where there’s still some kind of understanding between those who decide to push the button and those who suffer the consequences. I don’t think that connection is present in the west where those who push the button immediately leave for a place that is not targeted by missiles.
I guarantee you they are not concerned because they believe they can escape the actual devastation. They don’t give any fucks if multiple millions die so long as they’re in a bunker, or on an island, or in space or whatever their fantasy is.
My experience with politics over the years is usually people invested in the system perceive it to benefit them in some way, like a superstition of an athlete wearing his lucky socks, if they fail to properly believe, then they will jinx their success. It is nice to on a winning team, like all the crying and hugging when con artist Obama swept into power to raise up the hopes of liberals. Half the country is desperately poor and uneducated, and the leisure sport of politics doesn’t enter their survival mentality. For most of the politically active, it is sport, a similar distraction from feeling deeply into life and a way to feel part of something. Amen, Caitlin, and isn’t nuclear posturing all about ego? I’d rather destroy the planet rather than be subject to your will. Short term thinking as empires rise and fall.
Caitlin’s A and B are already a reality. As for C, Zizek suggests that the failure of the left to create a viable vision for an alternative socioeconomic order, along with at least s rudimentary plan for transitioning into it, has prevented mass alienation from translating into mass action. He has a point, doesn’t he? Thus we’re stuck in the rut of endless condemnation of a sick system without any remotely concrete idea of an alternative.
I think the key point on C is that narrative managers have a vested interest in maintaining the current socioeconomic systems, and so a GREAT deal of energy and resources are spent painting any alternatives presented as “unviable” whenever they are brought up.
~
As an example, Richard Wolff made an appearance on Fox news a while back to offer the “counter-perspective” as a Marxist economist, but that wasn’t the true purpose. What he was actually there for was to be publicly mocked and ridiculed for anything he said. He tried his best to stay focused and on point with his message (mostly transitioning into worker-owned businesses), but the engagement he was met with was “get a load of this kook! Lol what a piece of work! He actually is trying to say words that’s hilarious!” So the first battle is cutting through that narrative, which is what Caitlin and her ilk are trying to do. You have to know there’s a problem to fix the problem, and most people still don’t see anything as a problem. The good news is it’s working. The number of young people questioning capitalism’s viability is rising, and with that alternatives will actually be engaged with in a meaningful way. Hopefully it happens before the world gets blown up for fake money.
More than ever, the world must be observed with Mammon’s spectacles and everything assessed not in terms of moral values, human rights, people’s interests (including Charles III’s pressing concerns about climate change if we don’t get back to the Stone Age)…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xawE4vk_MIA
… or even power but counted in terms of gains for bankers. The rest is window-dressing. For starters, this approach is the only way to understand why shitlib politicians are so adamant in hunting down alleged Nazis at home while funding, arming and advising them in Ukraine. Or why Nazis and Fill-the-blank are goose-stepping in lockstep there. The ideological approach doesn’t cut it. These guys are deadly enemies according to Dolfy, yet they’re playing footsie in broad daylight in the Dniepr area? WTF?
If we drop our ideological spectacles to put on the Mammon variety, everything falls into place. For bankers, the perfect deal is a never-ending war. It doesn’t matter who fights it in the name of what or even who wins as long as two armies throw shit at each other that bankers profit from through their stakes in the armament industry. Ain’t no Mom and Pops’ business. Takes big money that only bankers can muster through pooling. Charles Higham explained in his 1983 book “Trading with the Enemy: An Exposé of the Nazi-American Money Plot, 1933-1949” how this worked out during WWII.
Excerpt: “What would have happened if millions of American and British people, struggling with coupons and lines at the gas stations, had learned that in 1942 Standard Oil of New Jersey [part of the Rockefeller empire] managers shipped the enemy [Germany] fuel through neutral Switzerland? (…) Suppose the public had discovered that the Chase Bank in Nazi-occupied Paris after Pearl Harbor was doing millions of dollars’ worth of business with the enemy with the full knowledge of the head office in Manhattan [the Rockefeller family among others]… Or that Ford trucks were being built for the German occupation troops in France with authorization from Dearborn, Michigan… Or that Colonel Sosthenes Behn, the head of the international American telephone conglomerate ITT, flew from New York to Madrid to Berne during the war to help improve Hitler’s communications systems and improve the robot bombs that devastated London… Or that ITT built the Focke-Wulf planes that dropped bombs on British and American troops… Or that crucial ball bearings were shipped to Nazi-associated customers in Latin America with the collusion of the vice-chairman of the U.S. War Production Board in partnership with Goering’s cousin in Philadelphia when American forces were desperately short of them… Or that such arrangements were known about in Washington and either sanctioned or deliberately ignored…”
Modern translation: the US is committed to send Ukraine an endless stream of American-made weapons until the final victory. No date provided. Think Afghanistan. No final victory there? Who cares? Certainly not Mammon! To the last Ukrainian will do just the same. Meanwhile dancing on the brink of MAD will keep the people in check and the media in clicks…
more like the successors of Standard Oil, Exxon and Mobil, worried about switching from fossil fuels to something that won’t make the climate change drastic. you want to go back to the stone age, keep supporting these “helpless victims”, cause we all know gigantic corporations intimately tied to the defense industry have no power in our society.
The whole premise of liberalism is that wage relations and private property can somehow be turned into a valuable moral force if we sacrifice food for manners.
Liberalism is nothing more than whataboutism for capitalism.
Empires cannot survive without power (that requires war). But power is an illusion. That is why every empire eventually faces the conflict it is trying to avoid. Is why humanity is on the precipice of WWIII.

I only tried a little to warn the shit-libs about the danger of nuclear war coming out of all this. They laughed. I suppose you endured a lot more abuse for insisting on pointing out reality over and over and over.

The value of ‘plain speaking’.
You can see the desperation on Putin’s face as his body language says; ‘Listen to me… you must listen… I am deadly serious’.
He is not holding his cards close to his chest and assessing the other player, and there is only one other player, he has placed his cards face up on the table.
The US MIC and intelligence cartel must now know the game is up. Their war gaming is a farce.
Russia has lost near 6,000 dead and perhaps three times that in wounded in the proxy war in Ukraine. They have paid a heavy price for their ‘softly-softly’ approach.
Churchill once coined the phrase that the US was the ‘arsenal of democracy’. How was it that it took the USSR to save Europe from fascism? The sad thing is, Russia no longer has any interest in saving Europe from its own fascist styled democracy. Russia’s target is US fascist capitalism.
Like the twin towers, the US has a hollow core, and only a weak lattice work of supports. All the grease paint supplied by Hollywood cannot cover up the fact that the US military IS the twin towers. The US military planners know their only chance of what is derisively termed ‘victory’ is a pre-emptive nuclear strike against Russia.
Russia is not Hiroshima or Nagasaki.
If Putin sleeps at all, it is with both eyes open.
I expect Russia to steamroll Ukraine and put Zelensky into exile very soon. Of course there wont be much left of Ukraine afterwards.
And, this Caitlin; all published on the same day;

Hey Caitlin, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I have; you seem to have some sort of subconscious psychic ability as a worldwide broadcaster, as you’re writing your essays. Sure, there might be a logical explanation, but I imagine that you read mostly, political/social, whereas I read mostly science/political, so that makes a reasonable explaination less likely, and we’ve all heard of the whirling dervishes; they dance and their hearts beat in synchrony; so what do you think about this? Fireflies do the same thing;
https://www.quantamagazine.org/how-do-fireflies-flash-in-sync-studies-suggest-a-new-answer-20220920/?utm_source=Nature+Briefing&utm_campaign=747f216f03-briefing-dy-20220921&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_c9dfd39373-747f216f03-47359284
Can humans do the same thing? Remember the storming of the Bastille? How that all came together? Could we as a species all wake up at once? Like the 17 year locusts do.
The real concern and possibility now is that some looney advises a pre-emptive strike. We’re almost at flash point.
My predictions to 2027.
– NATO will cease to exist as it is today as a US terrorist organization backing up rogue CIA militias like Kurds, Neo nazis in Europe, Al Qaeda, El, IS and secret services like Mossad, CIA, MI5-6.
– Pentagon will cease to exist as it represents the US worldwide empire. A new framework for Europe and America will show up but just after eliminating mafias working for Washington to enable color revolutions, George Soros NGO’s. Thanks to Ukraine’s war it was possible to identify all networks in Europe.
– A lot of people who enriched receiving US military budget worldwide to keep the strings attached will die or disappear.
– A lot of ordinary people will die as well.
No nazi sympathizer will be left alive. One is enough to bring back everything.

They have done a good job disrupting discourse. And websites free from censorship are few and far between. No big box platform is. All corporations march along with the guvmint and are negligent to stakeholders if they don’t.
